‘Labour MP Rupa Huq is making another attempt to introduce new legislation that would ban any sort of prayer, protest or support offered to people outside of abortion clinics across the country.
In an amendment to the Public Order Bill, the proposed text suggests that anyone found within these censorship zones – which constitute a 150m radius around abortion clinics – could face a fine or six months’ imprisonment, and if found for a second time, could even face up to two years in prison.
To be clear, these punishments are reserved for anyone who “interferes with any person’s decision to access, provide or facilitate the provision of abortion services in that buffer zone.”
However, ‘interferes with’ is further broken down, making it clear that it targets anyone who might be there to offer appropriate support and advice to women looking for help. The amendment lays out that ‘interferes with’ can be defined as:
“(a) seeks to influence; or
(b) persistently, continuously or repeatedly occupies; or
(c) Impedes or threatens; or
(d) intimidates or harasses; or
(e) advises or persuades, attempts to advise or persuade, or otherwise expresses opinion; or
(f) informs or attempts to inform about abortion services by any means, including, without limitation, graphic, physical, verbal or written means; or
(g) sketches, photographs, records, stores, broadcasts, or transmits images, audio, likeness or personal data or any person without express consent.”
The growing use of ‘buffer zones’
The effort to shut down the pro-life voice by any means is sadly not new. In fact, the proposed amendment is simply the re-tabling of the same amendment brought forward by Ms Huq in 2021, which ended up not being put to a vote after opposition from Parliament and the public.
However, an increasing number of local councils have gone out of their way to enact Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs), which essentially have the same legal effect as creating a so-called ‘buffer zone’.
Most famously, in October 2019, Christian Hacking became the first person to be arrested for publicly praying in front of an abortion clinic, in violation of the UK’s first ‘buffer zone’ in Ealing, West London. Since then, two more ‘buffer zones’ have been created in the UK, effectively silencing the pro-life voice outside abortion clinics.
More recently, Birmingham City Council has consulted on creating a new PSPO around another abortion clinic, arguing that it was in the ‘public interest’ to protect residents from allegedly ‘violent protestors’. Pro-life group 40 Days for Life, which regularly sets up peaceful prayer vigils outside abortion clinics (far enough away from the entrance so as not to cause disturbance), was accused by the council of sending ‘violent protestors’ to the Robert Clinic, Birmingham, who allegedly harass and interrogate the public. Yet the council failed to recognise that in reality, it is the pro-life volunteers who regularly face harassment from the public.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_sGmizYSQs Lots of foul language against those praying for those seeking an abortion.
Yet in reality, these zones are really ‘censorship zones’. The real purpose of them is shut down any form of pro-life action, prayer or support, outside of abortion clinics. In effect, this gives priority to a pro-abortion viewpoint over a pro-life viewpoint.
Even pro-abortion MP Kit Malthouse seemed to point out the hypocrisy of so-called ‘buffer zones’ during the second reading of the Public Order Bill in the House of Commons, commenting:
“I am honestly and genuinely perplexed by the argument about buffer zones … I understand the sensitivity in that particular situation, but why is it that we object to and are willing to restrict that particular form of protest, but not others?”
The pro-life presence outside abortion clinics in the UK is a peaceful one, with most groups setting up prayer vigils or silent demonstrations, with the occasional leaflet or booklet being offered to those who pass by.
Many women – and men – have been helped by these pro-lifers outside abortion clinics, being shown there are other options to abortion. For example, Danny and Carla were helped by 40 Days for Life outside an abortion clinic when they felt they had no other choice than to terminate Carla’s pregnancy. They are now proud parents to baby Betsy.
Similarly, the testimonies of those helped by abortion pill reversal suggest a growing number of women who regret choosing abortion, and point to a much-needed pro-life presence outside abortion clinics.
It makes sense for the pro-life movement to be present outside the very place it objects to; much as you might find animal rights’ protestors outside shops that sell fur or products tested on animals. The difference is, those with a pro-life point of view are effectively being told their views aren’t valid and must be shut down, even when they cause no disruption.
In turn, this essentially allows ideological abortion providers to hide all opposition to what they’re doing to where no one can see it. It lets them keep women, who may be being coerced or uncertain about their decision, on the abortion conveyor belt that always ends in the ‘choice’ to abort.
Breach of human rights
These censorship zones effectively breach freedom of religion and belief by banning a pro-life viewpoint from being expressed within a certain area. They are also a wildly disproportionate response to the activity that generally goes on outside abortion clinics.
Article 9 of the Human Rights Act in the UK protects freedom of thought, belief and religion, which Article 10 protects the right to freedom of expression. Similarly, Article 11 of the European Convention of Human Rights provides freedom of assembly, meaning that everyone, no matter the cause, has a right to protest, demonstrate or march in a public space – which includes outside abortion clinics.
The universal introduction of so-called ‘buffer zones’ would inhibit these freedoms and may well be ruled to breach human rights.
‘Buffer zones’ not supported by Parliament or public
On various occasions, both Parliament and the public have opposed the introduction of these areas of censorship around abortion clinics.’https://christianconcern.com/action/praying-outside-an-abortion-clinic-could-land-you-in-jail-for-two-years/
‘We’ve heard it all in 2022. Skipping breakfast causes heart attacks. Cannabis use disorder causes heart attacks. All healthy athletes are at risk of developing blood clots, according to the CDC. The mainstream media narrative remains consistent – anything and everything is causing all these people to die, except the mRNA and viral vector DNA injections that billions of people have received in the last 17 months.
Thus new, improved excuses by mainstream media must keep coming. High cholesterol is now the excuse being forwarded as to why so many people are suddenly having their legs, arms and other body parts amputated. Of course it is post-injection blood clots causing these amputations. The U.S. Sun issued this “urgent warning” to their audience. The New York Post, on May 31, also issued an “urgent warning” to women under 40. The paper cited data from Scotland showing an “unusual spike” in women under 40 developing blood clots. The Post blamed smoking, pregnancy, contraceptives and everything else except the injections for the spike in blood clots.
There’s also a newly-discovered, “highly reactive” chemical found in Earth’s atmosphere that The Daily Mail says is contributing to heart diseases and global warming. But the best excuse yet was dusted off from the cellar and bought back to life.
Sudden Adult Death Syndrome
The first mention of “sudden adult death syndrome” or SADS, was in 2006. The BMJ noted 453 cases of SADS from 1994 to 2003. But 40% of those had congenital heart issues. Thus in that ten-year stretch, an average of about 27 people with normal, healthy hearts died suddenly and unexpectedly each year. There were likely 27 people with normal, healthy hearts who died suddenly right now, in the time it took to write this sentence.
Today, mainstream media have changed it up a bit, calling it Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome in some cases. But in all of said stories, doctors are “baffled” and “confused” as to why so many people are dying and/or having heart attacks since mass vaccination commenced in 2021. The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners called SADS an “umbrella term to describe unexpected deaths in young people.”
You can’t blame people for living in denial. Once you’ve had even one of the injections, it’s too late unless you were lucky enough to receive a placebo. But now millions of people, most of whom are current or former vaxx zealots, are refusing to receive booster shots. In fact the United States has discarded 82 million doses of the injections since 2021 because the truth can no longer be hidden from the public.
We said months ago that the U.S. and Western populations would be noticeably smaller by the end of 2023. That forecast now appears to be far too generous. Vaxx recipients are either going to die in their sleep or spontaneously collapse and die of heart attacks at any moment. The pattern is now well-established.
Lazar LaPenna was a fourth grader in Long Beach, New York. He celebrated his 10th birthday on April 27. The first game of the little league baseball season was April 29. Lazar and his team were playing in their first game at Point Lookout Park in Lido Beach that day.
Lazar was up to bat and got a base hit. He ran safely to first base, looked over to his dad, Gregg, and smiled. Gregg, the coach of the team, looked down for a second to mark the base hit on his statistics sheet. But Gerry LaPenna, Lazar’s 11-year-old brother and the team’s first base coach, started yelling that Lazar was having a seizure.
Medics performed CPR for several minutes. But Lazar passed away on the field. Gregg said his son was diagnosed with epilepsy several years ago and managed it with medication. This blogger had two epileptic classmates in his elementary school in the 1980s. We were always told, if an episode happens and no teachers are around, to simply lay said kids on their side, move sharp objects away, cushion their heads if possible, and let the seizure run its course. If the kid vomits, try and clear it out of their mouths with your fingers so they didn’t choke.
The Epilepsy Foundation cited two longitudinal studies from Nova Scotia and the Netherlands. A total of 1,164 epileptic kids were followed up on for several years. The studies found that the only kids who died within those time periods had concurrent neurological disorders.’https://thecovidblog.com/2022/06/10/sudden-adult-death-syndrome-sads-mainstream-media-conjure-more-excuses-for-young-people-including-10-more-herein-having-heart-attacks-and-or-dying-in-mass-numbers/
‘For most of my life, I had no idea what the call is. I was born into an atheistic family in the Soviet Union. Literacy was compulsory in the country for the sake of making people receptive to communist propaganda (even by now Ukraine, according to the UNESCO rating, is the most literate country in the world alongside North Korea). We loved to read and we were reading a lot.
I was reading everything interesting I get, including some “spiritual” stuff like Bhagavad Gita or Tao Te Ching. That was prohibited, and we considered it so cool to read what is prohibited. For the same reason, I even read the Gospel once (I can not recall now which one, but believe it was Luke). A grandmother of my friend kept a copy in Proto-Slavonic (Old Bulgarian), and I had to learn the language to read it! I enjoyed the story very much, though it sounded pretty sad. The good guy was killed by the authorities without any guilt or particular reason. Well, this is life! In our country, 20 million were slaughtered by the regime in the same manner.
The weird issues of the Gospel story, – like sin, redemption, resurrection, etc., – did not make any sense to me and I just skipped them. This is just a novel; it should not be absolutely consistent. Soviet propaganda was making all of us logically and morally challenged, accustomed to contradictions and inconsistencies. After all, taking the courses of Marxism-Leninism Philosophy, History of the Communist Party and Scientific Atheism was compulsory at the university, and we were quite comfortable with all that inconsistent mythology. We were trained not to ask uncomfortable questions.
I graduated as a research physicist, specializing in laser optics, and completed advanced studies in geophysics. By the age of 30 I was a Senior Researcher, had been published in scientific journals, had patented inventions in geophysics and laser optics, and was ready to defend Ph.D. theses. I knew everything a Soviet scientist should know about the Bible: most of it is just a collection of fairytales for the babushkas (illiterate elderly ladies). There are so many good and useful books around – why should I waste my time reading that one?
But God has a sense of humor, hasn’t He? He made me read the Bible by sending me almost to the North Pole alone with nothing to read but the Bible (a Norwegian pastor gave me a copy on the way). Having not much to do after the research equipment was installed and worked automatically, I decided it will not hurt to read some fairytales, and started from the very beginning. However, the account I found in its first pages sounded much more reliable than the atheistic cosmology I faced before – about nothing that exploded to well-organized something operated by sophisticated laws we try to intelligently learn now).
The biblical story of the origins sounded much more reasonable than any other explanation. Eventually, I found that everything I know from my personal experience and my science fits with this book. This was the only “spiritual” book that told the truth about “earthly things” which I experienced and could put to the test. So, if looking for a reliable source of information on matters I cannot test, on “heavenly things” — this was it. And if I accept a part of it on the basis of the facts, I have to accept the rest of it by faith.
But it went even farther. In the context of the Genesis first chapters, everything I learned before from the Gospel about Jesus started gradually making sense to me. From Genesis and the rest of the Old Testament I found out why the Gospel is so important, and why Christ had to come and sacrifice His life. So through science, I came to the Bible, and through the Bible, I came to Christ, and have committed my life to Him eventually.
The question disturbed me nevertheless: how did I manage to live till the age of 30 knowing a lot about the world and even knowing some about Jesus, but still not knowing Jesus personally? Why my friends and colleagues, having access to the same information, did not see this amazing truth either? The answer became obvious: there was no room for the Good News in our worldview. The story of Jesus was good enough for us but was not the Good News per se. As Paul puts it, the proclamation of Christ crucified is foolishness to Gentiles (1 Corinthians 1:23). We were gentiles. The system of atheistic propaganda and education shaped our worldview with the immunity to the message of salvation. Nobody is interested in salvation without understanding the danger to the parish. The bad news is what turns the message into the good news. As gentiles, we did not know the bad news of the fall, and that is why we were deaf to the Good News of the redemption.
I still did not know what the call is, and neither I was aware of the concepts like ‘ministry’, ‘evangelism’, ‘apologetics’, or something. I just found wonderful truths that bring real sense to my life, and I wanted other people to see this truth as well. I started to share it and was surprised how little people care about the truth actually. The university administration was not happy with what I was doing at all, and I had to hold underground meetings with students, professors, and colleagues at first, and either give up on doing this or give up on my Ph.D. pursuit eventually. I can not say I was a strong bold believer who made that decision easily. It was a great challenge for me. But the treasure I found was greater than academic success anyway, and I have decided to continue sharing the truth.
I did not know any devoted Christians who could guide and instruct me back then. And love for reading helped me again. I was reading and studying everything I can find about the Bible to know more about it. Somehow I got some books by College Press published in Russian through Literature and Teaching Ministry, and they were extremely helpful in shaping my vision and understanding of the ministry.
I came to the conclusion that in a post-soviet society where people had been indoctrinated in atheism and worshipped science for several generations, the way I came to Christ could be a very effective way to win others for Him. They should hear the bad news by learning the truth about the Bible, about creation and the Creator, about the fall, and about moral absolutes. With this in mind, I have left the research activity and started the apologetics ministry that got the name Christian Center for Science and Apologetics later on (https://scienceandapologetics.com/en/). It exists for introducing the Truth to skeptics; strengthening the saints in their confidence in the Truth, and equipping God’s people to proclaim God’s Word effectively.
We started it with my wife Olga in 100 square feet room that was our bedroom, office, print shop, and warehouse at the same time. Printed materials were the key tool from the very beginning of the ministry. Because people in post-soviet culture preferred to avoid direct discussions, giving them something to read was the most effective way of outreach. The first materials were the tracts and brochures manufactured by the noisy dot matrix printer under our bed. Like with a baby in the room we were half-sleeping, half listening. But with the baby, you wake up when hearing a noise. With the printer, we had to wake up when it got silent. This meant the paper is jammed and should be fixed. Very soon however the Lord arranged our partnership with LATM and we start publishing in a much more efficient way.
Books led me to the Book, the Bible. Books helped me to grow in faith. Books became the key tool to spread the message to others. Internet and media have expanded our outreach enormously as well afterward. Most of the recourses we published were translations. But whenever we could not find a foreign book on a specific issue the ministry and national church needed, we had to write it ourselves.
Life with Christ is full of joy, blessings, and surprises. God’s vision is always greater than our one and His plans are more amazing than anything we ever can imagine. Following His guidance, our small family ministry accomplished a lot in many various areas of outreach we would never even dare to start ourselves. It grew up into an informal movement across 8 time zones in 12 post-communist countries. Our online resources are requested from about 100 countries of the world. We published more than 200 books, and some of them were reprinted more than once. Looking back it is hard to believe that all this happened to us.
God is always faithful in His calling when you obey it, even not having no idea what the call is. «Now unto him, that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen» (KJV Ephesians 3:20,21).’https://scienceandapologetics.com/en/testimony/
‘While Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has stated that mandatory COVID-19 vaccination is needed to protect the health and readiness of the armed forces, Steven J. Hatfill, M.D., writing in the summer issue of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, states that this policy has the potential to generate both short and long-term incapacitating side effects in our Special Operations soldiers.
Current mRNA products create only a short-term immunity to the original viral strains, he writes, and cannot reliably prevent infection with the now dominant strains. He refers to an Israeli study of 2.5 million patients, which found that fully vaccinated individuals were 6 to 13 times more likely to get infected with some SARS-CoV-2 variants than individuals who developed a natural exposure from a previous COVID-19 infection.
Citing growing evidence of vaccine-associated miscarriages, serious cardiac and neurologic conditions, and possible antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) of infection, Dr. Hatfill writes that the Food and Drug Administration, with its antiquated surveillance system, is “incapable of monitoring vaccine safety and efficacy.”
Clinical trials were rushed and incomplete, he states. “As early as February 2021, some scientists were calling for a halt to the mass vaccination program.”
Dr. Hatfill also maintains that “early COVID-19 infection is unequivocally a treatable condition” and that “safe antiviral drug prophylaxis is also available for units and dependents.”
“Military readiness,” he concludes, “should be protected with early detection and diagnosis, plus early treatment and prophylaxis with a combination of safe repurposed drugs and immunologic support, rather than mandated use of incompletely tested novel products with potential serious adverse effects.”’https://aapsonline.org/covid-vaccine-mandate-will-not-protect-military-readiness/
