I am not a fan of Hillsong either theologically or musically and if I had my way their music would be muted. Now, that aside, ‘Hillsong Church has been forced to apologize after a staff member who manages their Twitter account tweeted out during the recent debate for US President Trump’s microphone to be muted.
“Can’t they just mute Trump’s microphone!!” it read. “He is coming across as such a bully. No respect for him sorry. #PresidentialDebate2020”.
1Corithians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
It’s my own opinion, that today’s Christianity is in utter confusion when a song by Dolly Parton hits #1 on the Christian charts! Yes, ‘She might now be 74, but that has not slowed Dolly Parton, with her new song, “There Was Jesus”, going to number one.
A known Country music star, Parton collaborated with Zach Williams, who also wrote the song. This is Parton’s first number on the Christian charts.
“Having a No. 1 record at any time is a great thing, but having a No. 1 faith-based record during these crazy times is even greater,” Parton tells Billboard. “I feel humbled and blessed to be part of this wonderful song with Zach Williams. It does my heart good to know that we have touched the lives of so many people.”’https://mychristiandaily.com/dolly-parton-hits-number-1-on-billboards-christian-charts/
The world has disfigured John Newton’s Amazing Grace in so many different ways but the words continue to draw people’s hearts and attention back to God and His Word.
1
Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch; like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.
2
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed!
3
The Lord hath promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures.
4
When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we first begun.
Hopefully these songs will speak to your heart and be a blessing. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
