‘Jessica Berg Wilson, a 37-year-old stay-at-home mother from Washington, was a healthy and vibrant woman who passed away suddenly on Sept. 7. According to Jessica’s obituary, doctors diagnosed her with vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT).
VITT is a rare, and sometimes fatal, blood-clotting condition triggered by COVID vaccines.
In an exclusive interview with The Defender, Tom Wilson, Jessica’s husband, and Thomas Ivancie, her uncle, said Twitter’s fact-checkers — who have never spoken with their family to verify Jessica’s story — affixed “misleading” and “misinformation” labels to her obituary.
Because of the Twitter labels, people couldn’t interact with Jessica’s obituary, or share the story.
On Aug. 29, Jessica went to a Seattle pharmacy to get her COVID vaccine and was told she would be receiving the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) shot. Jessica had no underlying health conditions, her husband said.
Jessica was “vehemently opposed” to taking the vaccine, “considering her stay-at-home mom status, state of good health and young age in conjunction with the known and unknown risk of an unproven vaccine,” Wilson said.
But Jessica was pressured to get the vaccine due to a vaccine mandate at their child’s school requiring “room moms” who wished to serve in the classroom be fully vaccinated.
According to Ivancie, Jessica became ill after receiving J&J’s vaccine, and went to the emergency room at UW Medical Center.
Ivancie said Jessica had been vaccinated and was suffering various severe symptoms. But attending doctors insisted on giving Jessica a COVID test and sent her home. They did not pursue any other treatment.
Once at home, Jessica lost consciousness and was taken by ambulance to UW Medical Center in Seattle, where doctors diagnosed her with VITT, Ivancie explained. A team of doctors worked to relieve pressure on Jessica’s brain, but ultimately, it was too late.
As a young mother, Jessica was a dedicated listener to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “RFK, Jr. The Defender” podcast. She was well-informed about COVID vaccines and adamantly opposed to getting the injections, Ivancie said.
“Jessica died as a direct result of an experimental vaccine — a vaccine that she vehemently opposed taking. Jessica felt coerced. She felt robbed of her ability to choose. Her ability to say ‘no’ — to say no to a medical procedure she did not want — was taken from her.”
Her obituary said:
“During the last weeks of her life, the world turned dark with heavy-handed vaccine mandates. Local and state governments were determined to strip away her right to consult her wisdom and enjoy her freedom.
“Her passion to be actively involved in her children’s education — which included being a room mom in her child’s classroom — was, once again, blocked by government mandate.”
Jessica’s husband said he received Pfizer’s vaccine “several months back” because his work involved traveling and being around a lot of people.
“It was best for our family that I got the vaccine,” Wilson said. But Jessica was “in a limited bubble as a stay-at-home mom, was of a young age and was concerned about the unproven nature of these vaccines.”
“She didn’t feel it was needed for her,” Wilson said. “But then as the mandates came out, Jessica and those mothers who are very very involved in their children’s lives — she wanted to be involved in every step of their lives. That was her main priority, her kids.”
In a memorial to his wife, Wilson wrote:
“Ultimately, this one-size-fits-all government policy cost Jessica her life, my children their mother, me my forever love and resulted in the loss of a very special person who touched many and was just making her dent felt on this world.”
Wilson told The Defender:
“My view on this whole story is — I want the world leaders to take notice because Jessica’s life is irreplaceable. There was a high value on her life and what she did for our family and for others. She touched a lot of people and there’s no replacing Jessica.
“I just hope that those people who are in control, who are setting these mandates at the top, are listening to her story and how we can protect the next Jessica from having to take this vaccine should they not think it’s necessary for them.”
Wilson said physicians at the hospital “100%” recognized she had a vaccine adverse event and told him they reported it to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Jessica’s VAERS report was entered into the agency’s system on Sept. 8. Her VAERS ID number is 1683324. Her family to date has not been contacted by any government officials.
Twitter censors Jessica’s obituary attributing her death to J&J’s vaccine
The tribute, published by The Oregonian, said the mother of two died from “COVID-19 vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia.” It was marked as “misleading” by the social media giant over the weekend, according to Twitter users.
Twitter fact-checkers put a “misleading” label on Jessica’s obituary and prevented people from replying to, sharing or liking the tweet.
The fact-check warning was removed by Twitter on Monday morning following the backlash.
Wilson said he’s not on social media, but said he was disgusted when he learned from others that his wife’s obituary was being censored by big tech companies for being “misleading” or for containing “misinformation.”
Ivancie said he also received reports that Facebook was censoring Jessica’s obituary, and confirmed the family had not been contacted by fact-checkers from either tech company to verify Jessica’s story.
Ivancie said, “When you can’t have the truth come out, you’re thwarting people’s ability to make decisions. It is scary how these entities have the power to censor.”
Ivancie said it feels like a second death — a death of the truth at the hands of these massive powerful entities. “Imagine if we had a free and open exchange of truth, how this could change the narrative for others,” Ivancie said.
“We aren’t telling people not to get vaccinated,” Jessica’s husband said, “that’s not what we’re doing. We want people to understand Jessica’s story and her right to choose, and in her mind, she had no choice in the matter with all these mandates.”
“We’re just hoping people in these positions of power setting these mandates will listen to our story,” he said.
‘As we survey the current political, social and cultural landscape of Australia, we see that this pandemic has perhaps irrevocably changed who we are as a people and a nation.
Our national anthem boasts that “we are one and free”. However, the reality is we are anything but “one and free” right now.
The nation is as divided as we’ve ever seen it, not just with State borders closed so tight that it almost seems like you need a visa to get into parts of your own country but Australians are attacking other Australians on the basis of whether or not they’ve had a medical procedure that has only been provisionally approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.
And “free”? What, with lockdowns, curfews, restrictions on gatherings, vaccine mandates for work, vaccine mandates for shopping, restrictions on GPs prescribing treatments, restrictions on leaving and entering the country? To paraphrase Darryl Kerrigan of The Castle, “you’ve got to be dreaming!”
Veteran journalist Chris Uhlmann summed up the situation in an opinion piece a few months ago. I want to quote the article at length because it is the best analysis I’ve read that so aptly describes the collective insanity that has captured our country:
So conditioned by fear are Australians to accepting the notion that COVID-19 is equivalent to the plague, the majority have learned to love Big Brother and hate dissenters…
… our pursuit of the fool’s errand of COVID Zero has seen us level every liberty, destroy educations and livelihoods and shut ourselves off from the world.
… it took us 230 years, but we finally managed to perfect the prison colony. We have even invented a perverse new “Covese” lexicon where “freedoms” are not rights, but gifts bestowed by premiers and where the police complain of “illegal family gatherings”.
Among the most depressing aspects of this supine acceptance of rank authoritarianism is the role of the media. Much of it has become a cheer squad for the blunt instrument of lockdowns and a moral hall monitor that polices thought crimes. The same organs that ritually hyperventilate about the detention of asylum seekers are the loudest voices in advocating imprisoning entire states.
Some lockdown fetishists appear to be planning to make shutdowns a lifestyle. There are sage warnings from “experts” not to pin our hopes of liberation on high rates of vaccination, for their perfect future to be realised restrictions must be as endemic as the disease.
This is Wuhan syndrome. The Economist has noted that the only countries persisting with a COVID elimination strategy are islands and dictatorships. We are now both.
Uhlmann’s assessment is not just the rantings of someone fed up with being stuck at home for too long. He’s actually got history and a lot of quality academic research on his side. The concept of mass psychosis and its connection with the rise of totalitarian regimes has long been studied by experts such as Carl Jung, Joost Merloo, Hannah Arendt and Frank Furedi to name but a few. In fact, the phenomenon has even been studied in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the study COVID-19 and the Political Economy of Mass Hysteria, researchers concluded:
Negative information which is spread through mass media repetitively can affect public health negatively in the form of nocebo effects and mass hysteria. We argue that mass and digital media in connection with the state may have had adverse consequences during the COVID-19 crisis. The resulting collective hysteria may have contributed to policy errors by governments not in line with health recommendations…
Unfortunately, once a mass hysteria takes hold of the government, the amount of damage the hysteria can inflict to life and liberty surges as the state’s respect for private property and basic human rights is limited. The violation of basic human rights in the form of curfews, lockdowns, and coercive closure of business has been amply illustrated during the COVID-19 crisis.
We have seen periods of mass insanity before, including during the infamous witch hunts in Europe and the United States that occurred in the 16th and 17th centuries, and in many nations that devolved in despotic regimes throughout the 20th century.
In his seminal work, The Rape of the Mind, the aforementioned Merloo noted:
… the totalitarian systems of the 20th century represent a kind of collective psychosis. Whether gradually or suddenly, reason and common human decency are no longer possible in such a system: there is only a pervasive atmosphere of terror, and a projection of “the enemy,” imagined to be “in our midst.” Thus society turns on itself, urged on by the ruling authorities.
A very informative animated explainer by After Skool on this concept can be found in the YouTube video below. I challenge you to watch it and see whether or not the concepts and conclusions it comes to around mass insanity are not relevant to the world and, sadly, country we live in today.
So the question is: what do we do about it?
I am by no means any sage that can point us out of this mess but, as you might have seen at the end of the After Skool video, other great minds have contemplated such questions in different eras where the many seem to have fallen for a delusion, which can also be termed The Lie.
It seems then that there are five key steps to defeat The Lie:
Get your own life in order and live free of The Lie.
Spread the truth to counter The Lie.
Ridicule the Elites who are behind The Lie.
Join a movement that fosters a culture of truth within a society that is dominated by The Lie. (This is exactly what I am attempting to do with the Nation First newsletter.)
Peaceful action by as many people as possible who have not succumbed to The Lie.
The New South Wales government must not know that before 2020 we had the freedom of movement. That means one could travel anywhere in New South Wales. That also meant they could go to work without being asked anything concerning their medical history. Well, since the China virus that FREEDOM is gone. Now we have this.
Greater freedoms for fully vaccinated people
From the Monday 11 October 2021, eased restrictions will allow those who are fully vaccinated to have:
10-visitor limit in your home
access Gyms, indoor recreation and sporting facilities
group bookings of up to 20 people in hospitality settings.
All premises will operate at 1 person per 4sqm indoors and 1 person per 2sqm outdoors.
People under the age of 16 who are not fully vaccinated are allowed unaccompanied in their workplaces and all outdoor settings, but must be with a fully vaccinated member of their household in hospitality venues (unless collecting takeaways), entertainment facilities, major recreation facilities and places of worship, unless they work at the venue.
For settings in regional NSW with vaccination requirements for staff and customers, staff can return to work on 11 October if they have had at least 1 dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, but must be fully vaccinated by 1 November 2021.
Masks and QR codes
Masks required for all staff and customers in all indoor settings including on public transport, planes and in airports (except children under the age of 12).
Masks no longer required in outdoor settings (except for front-of-house hospitality staff).
COVID Safe check-ins and proof of vaccination required for staff and customers.
Visiting family and friends
Up to 10 visitors allowed in your home at any one time (visitor limits don’t apply for children under the age of 12).
Small outdoor gatherings and recreation permitted with up to 30 people (2-person limit for people who are not fully vaccinated).
Get the idea now? Our freedoms are only what the government deems us to have. So, the question for me is will we ever get those freedoms back? Once taken freedom is very seldom given back.
‘At a private event in Texas this weekend, Katie Hopkins told an audience that Australia is the “darkest place on earth right now.”
At UTT, we tend to agree.
Those who follow the goings on in Australia, as well as people like Avi Yemini of Rebel News know the tyranny and blatant evil that is being imposed on the people of Australia by their government.
Citizens must be in their homes by 9 pm, never more than 5 kilometers from home, and always wearing a mask or risk arrest.
The utter disregard for liberty and the overt oppression is shocking, especially in a place like Australia.
During this year’s Rosh Hoshanah celebration in Melbourne, a Jewish synagogue was surrounded by police to keep the Jewish population from worshipping.
When was the last time police surrounded a synagogue to keep Jews from worshipping?
Nazi Germany anyone?
Katie Hopkins points out that she was invited to Australia to participate in a reality television show while 35,000 people are still separated from their families because of the draconian measures enforced in Australia.
When she arrived in Australia, she was escorted by police and military officers to her hotel where she was not allowed to leave, make outgoing calls, and had to wait 30 seconds before opening her door to pick up her food.
When Hopkins joked she was going to answer her hotel room door naked to freak out the gestapo, she was hauled out of her room by numerous HAZMAT suit-wearing police and military personnel, treated like a criminal, and deported.
Tyranny and oppression are rolling across the world, but nowhere is it more pronounced in the West than in Australia.
Why is this happening in Australia and why is it happening so fast?
UTT encourages readers to keep in mind that tyrants, especially communists, follow a pattern to seize power – Mao’s Political Warfare model.
Reducing the citizens’ ability to defend themselves, undermining the foundations of society holding it together, and creating a “solving” a “crisis” while reducing liberty, are all a part of this effort.
In 1996, Australia passed significant laws which severely restricted an Australian’s ability to purchase and keep effective firearms.
Now, Stalinesque police and military personnel in Australia – some of whom openly say they disagree with the lockdowns, but are “just doing their job” reminiscent of nazi gate guards – are the oppressors ushering in an the era of slavery in Australia.
Who is behind all this?
It is worth noting the significant Chinese business ventures in Australia, and the Chinese population in Australia – almost 8% of the overall population in a nation of only 25.8 million people.
With the proximity of China, it is not a hard stretch to see Australia may be in China’s sites.
For citizens, the answer in Australia is the same it is in Europe and the United States.
Citizens must resist tyranny and defend liberty at all costs.
For those in America who think all of the negative and corrupt happenings in the U.S. are all coincidence, look no further than Europe and Australia to see the oppression and tyranny that is happening in real time.
Been busy this Monday morning doing those things I may still do while unvaxxed. The 11th of October is the freedom day for the vaxxed BUT we UNCLEAN ones must wait until 1st of December. After 11 October the things we unvaxxed could do we may not do until 1st of December. Figure that?! Oh, the joy of living in a FREE society!! Anyway, here is an article of how an outsider looking in sees us here in Australia.
‘Aside from the Internet spying, the militarized riot police, and the detention camps, everything is fine Down Under…
Oh yes, 70 percent of Australians were agreeing “sometimes people’s freedoms need to be restricted to keep Australia safe.” Land of the unbrave, home of the unfree.
Someone asked me after the first Australia post what I meant by a democratic police state. Pretty much this. If Neil and Karen are not just not standing up for their rights but begging for kneepads, their leaders are almost duty-bound to provide them. Give the people what they want, especially when what they want is more power for me!
Welcome to the Pandemia in its purest form, no pandemic required.
Scholars have noted that anti-Semitism runs hottest in Arab countries where Jews for all intents and purposes don’t exist. Similarly, the fear of Sars-Cov-2 appears strongest in places that haven’t seen it. (The same trend is clear in the United States, by the way. The nursing home workers who have seen Covid’s real impact more closely than anyone else are the least afraid of it, at least based on their unwillingness to submit to vaccinations.)
In any case, Australia has been happy to be a modern-day hermit kingdom, with its states competing to impose the strictest Covid rules.
Keep in mind, these are internal borders – these states are closing themselves to OTHER Australians. But hey, when the plague with the 99.7% survival rate comes calling, anything goes.
Insane as they were, the restrictions appeared to work. Australia had minor Covid outbreaks in 2020, but lockdowns quelled them. By early 2021, Australians were fetishizing their Covid-free lives, celebrating “doughnut days” – in which the number of reported cases was zero. A CNET article from March was headlined “After coronavirus: Australia offers a strange glimpse of life post-pandemic… life, in at least one country, feels oddly normal.”
For much of 2021, the citizenry’s main complaint was that the government hadn’t moved fast enough to get mRNA vaccines. But with those arriving, the federal and state governments promised a “path to freedom” – as long as 70 or 80 percent of adults consented to be vaccinated. Australia appeared on its way to a bright, shiny Covid-free future.
But Covid plays jokes on all of us (except the original comedians in the People’s Republic of China, somehow… but that’s a story for another day). You’ll never guess what happened this summer, just as Australia ramped up its mass vaccinations. Or will you?
Yep, the country’s biggest outbreak to date. Cases went from 10 a day in June to 40 in early July to almost 2,000 by mid-September. This rise came as a complete shock to everyone (except those wise fools who read my Twitter feed back when I had a Twitter feed). The post-first-dose spike, it’s a thing.
Back most of Australia went into lockdown, and just to prove they have learned nothing in the last 18 months, the doctor-dictators (doctators?) went whole hog, right down to closing playgrounds. (The story below is from Sept. 1.)
They also doubled down on mandatory vaccinations. Just get to 80 percent adults vaccinated, baby! Just like the United Kingdom, and everything will be fine.
But for the first time, Australians are pushing back in significant numbers. Last week, thousands of people repeatedly took to the streets of Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria and the second-largest city in Australia (about three-quarters of Victoria’s 6.5 million people live in Greater Melbourne). The immediate catalyst for the protests was a vaccine mandate for all construction workers in Victoria, but broader lockdown fatigue is clearly playing a role.
But the authorities are in no mood to compromise. The government of Victoria deployed black-clad riot police known as the Special Operations Group to fire rubber bullets and beat protestors.
Just how large the protests have been is hard to know, in part because the government has not exactly encouraged media access. Another issue is that much of the Australia media – like its American counterparts – is squarely on Team Apocalypse and insists on pretending that the protestors are all neo-Nazis.
Also, Melbourne residents late last week reported that their Internet service had mysteriously ground to a halt, which made both organizing and reporting protests very difficult. Normally I would write this off as a conspiracy. And I still lean that way. Except it turns out that the Australian government just passed a law giving itself incredible powers to spy on and control the Internet.
Called the “Surveillance Legislation Amendment (Identify and Disrupt)” bill, the legislation allows the Australian federal police to take over accounts in secret and “modify or delete the data of suspected offenders.” In theory, the police are supposed to use these powers to target serious dark web offenders like child pornographers, but they are not required to do so.
Whether or not the police are now trying to disrupt would-be protestors from organizing online, the new law shows just how aggressively Australia intends to police the Internet going forward. A little freedom is a dangerous thing.
Yet it is not clear at this point that the protestors have momentum. They numbered in the thousands, not the tens of thousands, which in a region of 5 million is not overwhelming. And among the favored chants in Melbourne last week was “Everyday!” – a promise to be back on the streets each morning. Yet even by Friday the protests had fizzled.
This has been a pattern all over the world for the last 18 months. Whether from unfavorable media coverage, difficulty organizing because of Facebook censorship, or fear of Covid, anti-lockdown protests have never grown large enough to force policy changes.
What will change that passivity – in Australia and everywhere else?
China is winning a war without one shot being fired and the Left are loving it.
Conservative Australian commentator ‘Alan Jones will no longer publish columns for The Daily Telegraph.
The popular broadcaster, who is currently a weekly fixture on Sky News Australia, has been told by editor Ben English that his column will no longer appear.
Alan Jones has been an outspoken critic of the government’s Covid mandates since the pandemic began. His criticism has been especially sharp in regards to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s recent treatment of Freedom Day protests and the tough Sydney lockdown.
His commentary came after the country was shocked by the overnight creation of a special police task force whose purpose was to track down protesters. NSW Police used social media to encourage residents to dob each other in to Crime Stoppers.
Alan Jones’ take on the situation differs considerably from his mainstream media counterparts, who have gone so far as to run identical newspaper covers ‘Just get the damn jab!’ to assist vaccination programs.
Clips from Alan Jones’ Sky News nightly show are routinely among the highest digital performers along with other outspoken hosts on Outsiders and The Bolt Report.
While Jones appeared to be more subdued on Tuesday night’s program, he was back firing at the government on Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, 2GB’s Ray Hadley got into yet another scrap with his former colleague.
“He needs to be called out for last night’s program,” said Hadley, after Alan Jones referred to NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant as the ‘village idiot’.
Chant had previously courted global attention when she told Australians ‘not to talk to each other’ during a bizarre press conference.
2GB has struggled to maintain its number one position on breakfast radio since Alan Jones’ departure, with the station in danger of being outperformed by the ABC.
‘An Australian legislator has proposed vaccine passports for everyone over 18 years as a way of providing a restriction to those who refuse the vaccine. The strict proposal comes as the country handles new waves of infections that are much lower than in other countries.
“While people might still have a choice whether or not to get vaccinated, what they can do in the community will need to be controlled and restricted,” said Frank Pangallo, a Member of Parliament in the Upper House, speaking to Adelaide Now.
The SA-Best Party legislator said vaccination certification should be mandatory in hospitality venues, public places, workplaces, and for travel. He proposed the introduction of “vaxport,” a vaccination certification (vaccine passport) document in order to avoid what he says would be a “health and economic catastrophe” in Australia.
So far, the Australian government, led by Prime Minister Scott Morrison, has not hinted that it would mandate vaccine passports. Speaking to Adelaide Now, the chief public health officer Prof. Nicola Spurrier said the government was considering mandatory vaccination for high-risk professions, not the wider population. The Health Minister Stephen Wade said the government was committed to having the vaccines remain “free and voluntary.”
“I understand people will think this is a rather drastic and draconian step, but this pandemic continues to evolve in ways and waves nobody can predict,” Pangallo added. He continued to argue that regardless of vaccines, “we do not seem to control its spread and those variants that are emerging — not just (the) Delta strain but the deadly Lambda variant from Peru.” Pangallo called on the government to update the vaccination program so that individuals who are not yet eligible to get the virus can get it if they want.
Currently, in Australia, people under the age of 40 are not eligible to get the Pfizer vaccine, but it was recently announced that they could get the AstraZeneca shot with a green light from their doctor. An advisory from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ATAGI) recommends the AstraZeneca jab only for people over the age of 60, recommending Pfizer for those under 60.
“Australia is on the cusp of a health and economic catastrophe which requires strong and decisive leadership to prevent the entire country going into lockdown,” Pangallo said. “Hard times create strong leadership and strong leadership creates good times. This is what’s needed now. The pussyfooting around by Scott Morrison needs to stop.”
‘A social media row has erupted after some Chinese cities issued public notices threatening to restrict millions of citizens who are yet to receive a COVID vaccine from entering public spaces.
A handful of smaller cities in Jiangxi, Shanxi, Zhejiang, Fujian and Hebei provinces announced that if people fail to have their jabs, they are likely to be banned from entering schools, childcare, supermarkets, government buildings, hospitals, hotels, banks, aged care facilities, wet markets and government-owned premises.
These local governments say officials will put a strong emphasis on monitoring non-vaccine recipients, who are required to obtain an exemption letter from a hospital.
