‘Author and educator, Dr. Kevin Donnelly, has spoken out vehemently against what he perceives as the insidious influence of cancel culture and cultural Marxism on Australian society.
In a new interview in Brisbane, Dr. Donnelly delved into the themes of his latest book, “Cancel Culture: And The Left’s Long March.”
A native of Melburnian, Dr. Donnelly reflected on Labor’s Joan Kirner era and her socialist agenda in education, which he witnessed firsthand.
He highlighted Kirner’s push for the overthrow of traditional educational values in favour of a socialist paradigm, advocating for equality of outcomes over competition and meritocracy.
Drawing on his extensive research, Dr. Donnelly elaborated on the concept of the Long March through the institutions, popularised by German activist Rudi Dutschke, wherein Marxist academics sought to instill cultural Marxism in Western societies.
His book explores the roots of cancel culture, political correctness, and t modern form “wokeness,” decrying their corrosive effects on various facets of society.
Expressing his dismay at the current state of affairs, Dr. Donnelly lamented the pervasive influence of cancel culture, particularly its impact on the youth.
He recounted distressing scenes of young children succumbing to fear-induced despair over climate change, attributing such sentiments to the toxic environment fostered by cancel culture.
Moreover, Dr. Donnelly underscored the concerning rise in youth suicide, self-harm, and other mental health issues in Australia, attributing them to a lack of moral and spiritual grounding.
“When we finally deal that final blow to destroy Israel. When the state of Israel is finally destroyed and erased from history, that will be the single most important blow we can give to destroying capitalism.”
‘The utter dedication of the country’s teachers’ unions to a radical transformation of the U.S. has long been evident, but if you need a refresher, consider the resolution recently adopted in Colorado, declaring that capitalism “exploits” people and harms education. Not a single one of the resolution’s supporters knows Thing One about capitalism, but that doesn’t matter in the least.’ Full article at https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/colorado-parents-shouldnt-allow-their-kids-within-miles-of-these-teachers/
What have you purchased recently that is not made either in China or Viet Nam? Two communist countries!! Sadly, most of what we purchase today is made in China! I have read where 60% of the world’s steel comes from China! Our political leaders, mainline media, many corporations and of course Hollywood are complicit in this takeover!
‘Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ 6,000-word essay, recently published in left-wing publication The Monthly, shows conservatives were correct in predicting the Albanese Labor government would be a meddling, bigger-spending, anti-capitalist nightmare.
However, while there is an understandable temptation to label Chalmers’ love letter to big government as “socialism”, that’s not quite right.
It embodies something that could prove far worse.
Chalmers’ promise to “redesign markets for investment in social purposes, based on common metrics of performance” sounds innocuous.
As does his purported optimism that “2023 will be the year we build a better capitalism” that is “uniquely Australian”.
However, this supposedly better capitalism, or “values-based capitalism”, as he puts it, is not uniquely Australian.
It’s been virulently propagated internationally for decades by the likes of Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum (WEF), under the banner of “stakeholder capitalism”, and is a core component of the WEF’s Great Reset initiative.
The Great Reset is a proposed alliance between big government and big business to “reset” the global economy post-pandemic, by pushing companies to adopt “Environmental, Social, and Governance” (ESG) policies as a condition of operation.
ESG policies are characterised by identity politics and radical climate action, and are determined in part by faceless, unelected corporate elites.
It’s not socialism; it’s neo-feudalism.
ESG policies are the “values” of Chalmers’ “values-based capitalism”.
We know this because his essay bears a striking resemblance to the type of stakeholder capitalism outlined in Klaus Schwab’s 2022 co-written book, The Great Narrative, a sort of sequel to his 2020 book The Great Reset.
This, for anyone who holds right-of-centre values, should be cause for alarm.
Chalmers describes a core component of values-based capitalism as enabling investors “to work out the climate-risk rating of a firm just as a lender can work out a credit-risk rating”.
“In 2023, we will create a new sustainable finance architecture, including a new taxonomy to label the climate impact of different investments. That will help investors align their choices with climate targets, help businesses who want to support the transition get finance more easily…This strategy begins with climate finance,” he continues.
Similarly, in The Great Narrative, Schwab says stakeholder capitalism “welcomes the idea of legislative action to define with precision the benchmarks for ESG reporting and performance”.
“In the same way that companies have an obligation to report their financial results…in the not-too-distant future they will have a similar obligation to report on ESG metrics… governments will make the last call for setting the legal obligations, targets and incentives around ESG standards.”
Ultimately, the purpose of both values-based and stakeholder capitalism is to justify politicians working with corporations to create big government policies, and insidiously exert the kind of control over markets and individuals that, in isolation, is unpalatable to your average voter.
This is the antithesis of democracy.
Jim Chalmers can claim all he wants that his values-based capitalism is the right thing for Australians, but he seems to forget that values are often subjective.
While he may believe that markets geared towards controlling citizen’s behaviour is a moral good, others (like me) believe this is – at best – overly stubborn.
One could NEVER ask for someone’s medical records for HIV, Hepatitis or some sexually transmitted disease! Yet, providing proof of receiving the Wuhan Flu vaccine is mandated in California and other WOKE states. Now, ‘An In-N-Out in Contra Costa County, California, has been shut down permanently for refusing to ask patrons for proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test within three days of dining in.
The fast-food branch was told to close indefinitely on Tuesday according to The Hill.
“The Pleasant Hill In-N-Out location received four citations in recent weeks and fines totaling $1,750, all for the same health order violation, before today’s action,” Contra Costa Environmental Health (CCEH) said in a statement.
The location was served with a notice of violation on Oct. 5, and subsequently fined $250 on Oct. 14 and $500 on Oct. 19, a spokesperson for Contra Costa County’s health department told SFGate, adding that the In-N-Out faced “repeated complaints from members of the public.”
Arnie Wensinger, chief legal & business officer for the In-N-Out chain, said that the store “properly and clearly” posted signs that outlined the vaccination requirements for indoor diners, but said that the store refused to act as “the vaccination police for any government.”
“It is unreasonable, invasive, and unsafe to force our restaurant Associates to segregate Customers into those who may be served and those who may not, whether based on the documentation they carry, or any other reason,” added Wensinger.
One wonders why those who profess to be Christian parents would send their child for an education in some of these private, Christian denominational, liberal arts colleges!? For instance, ‘An Ivy League-educated scholar called for an end to capitalism as the only means to create a moral world during her recent guest lectures at the Presbyterian-affiliated Maryville College last week.
Skidmore College Professor of Religious Studies Lucia Hulsether said the country is
Lucia Hulsether
“drenched” in capitalism’s blood. There is “no nonviolent action” in capitalism, she said.
Hulsether gave two lectures as part of the Margaret M. Cummings Conversations speaker series, which is named for a late Bible studies professor and focuses on “faith, service and learning.”
The lecture series was hosted by the college’s Center for Campus Ministry and held in the school’s chapel as well as recital hall.
The Rev. Anne McKee, the campus minister of Maryville, said the purpose of the lecture series was to answer the question: “What does it mean to be a person of faith in the world?”
In two lectures totaling almost two hours, Professor Hulsether did not bring up Jesus once.
