‘Millions of people are now clamoring for paper masks to cover their mouths and noses while thousands of healthcare and public service workers are wearing full Hazmat suits. The new Coronavirus – now officially known as SARS-CoV-2 – has had a devastating effect in China this winter of 2020.
What can we learn from this plague in regard to biblical and creation truth? Apart from being another example of a creation fallen from innocence and perfection because of sin, the Bible has much to say about it that is relevant. In Leviticus chapter 11, the Bible presented the Jewish people with dietary laws for animals. These laws were ceremonially important for honoring God and remembering the people’s place before Him. But we know today that these principles from the Bible were filled with keen insight and prophetic foreknowledge in their understanding of health science and disease prevention.
And while the ceremonial aspects of these dietary rules were replaced by New Testament freedoms (see Acts 10:9-28), the fact is that important medical and health wisdom predating modern science is reflected in these laws! For example, warnings appear throughout Leviticus 11 about handling dead carcasses, including water and any objects which contacted the carcasses – something medicine lost sight of until modern germ theory in the 19th century.
Though many people now think that SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus originated as a biological weapon, the official explanation is that it started in a “live wildlife” market in Wuhan, China. We are told that the virus got its start from people who were eating bats. Interestingly, in Leviticus 11:13-19, “bats” are listed along with 19 unclean birds which 
“shall not be eaten” as “they shall be an abomination unto you”. The last phrase is also translated “a detestable thing and abhorrent to you”.
Bats are known to host up to 137 different kinds of viruses – the most well-known one being rabies. These include over 60 “zoonotic” viruses (viruses which can be transferred to other species). Bats and rodents (prohibited in Leviticus 11:29) carry the most such viruses of any animals. The viruses can make the leap to humans through an intermediate species such as dogs and cats (also prohibited because they are animals that walk on their “paws”. They eat the meat of other unclean animals and thereby ingest more pathogens which can be transferred through their own meat. In addition, of course, the unclean animals of Leviticus 11 are eaten directly by humans, especially in parts of the world which do not have a biblical tradition.
Viruses are difficult for the immune system to contend with because they disguise themselves by hiding within the body’s own cells – a cell “uniform” which the immune system’s “soldiers” have learned to overlook. The thing that keeps us alive against the ravages of infections and other “uncleanness” is the blood’s immune system. And with viruses, the immune system must “train” and deploy the special B- and T-lymphocyte immune system cells to become like specially trained commandos to recognize and neutralize the virus-infected cells.
As the Bible puts it, “the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11). This biblical statement is true on many levels. It is true on the surface as well as on a deeply spiritual level. We can make the connection between our own blood carrying life-giving oxygen and nutrition to our whole body with our incredible immune system manufactured with and carried by the blood throughout our bodies, knocking out the pathogens which would otherwise quickly bring death. And then there is the wonderful renewing love, joy, and peace of spiritual life brought with the blood of Christ cleansing us from spiritual infection (sin)!
Viruses mutate. And this makes them able to re-infect people. But the truth is, contrary to the assumptions of evolution, such mutations – as with any mutation – will be far less likely to survive. This fact – that mutations are at best equally viable but most frequently weaker members of a species – is a key reason why evolution is impossible. Mutations do not advance a species and make it more genetically complex. Mutations result in the loss of genetic information in the same way that a random disturbance of the letters in the words of a book will detract from what is being said rather than adding information to the sentences.
The overwhelming probabilities of increasing entropy (disorder) applied to genetics prevents any fluke positive mutation from ever accumulating and surviving into a more “advanced” species or even so-called “transitional” species. This is why there are no transition species in the fossil record, and the rarities that are claimed as such are fraudulent or otherwise dubious.
The viral epidemic in China has made things difficult, not only for victims of the virus, but for Xi Jinping, President for Life and communist dictator of China since 2013. He has been leading a renewed effort of totalitarian oppression of freedoms, including bulldozing churches and rolling back Christian freedoms in China – which has seen many converts since relaxation in the 1980s of Mao Tse Tung’s oppressive tactics. But communism, supported by evolutionism, has taken its toll. And according to mission groups, China has over 60% of the world’s “Religiously Unaffiliated” people (i.e., atheists, agnostics). The “good thing” about this new virus is that it has further exposed the deficits of communism to China’s population, in spite of tight control over the internet and censorship of expression.
There is an epic struggle between totalitarianism and freedom. As usual, evolutionism is on the side of totalitarianism, while biblical Christianity is on the side of freedom! ‘Boyfriend, Francis McDonagh from Buncrana County Donegal, appeared at Letterkenny Court where he was charged for attacking his girlfriend, who was five months pregnant.
The court heard how during an argument the 22- year-old assailant repeatedly kicked his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach, whilst shouting “I’m going to kick it out of you.”
Passing the sentence, Judge John Aylmer said that is was lucky that McDonagh did not cause serious injury to his girlfriend or the unborn child.

‘The Power of Evolutionary History
One need not look far to see the consequences of Darwin’s new history of the universe. Although there are countless ways evolutionary history transformed the world, here are three that push historical logic to its natural conclusions:
- Eugenics – The eugenics movement officially began with the work of Charles Darwin’s younger cousin, Francis Galton. Galton understood that if the evolutionary history of the world were true, then those groups that have the most offspring eventually take over a society. Since ‘inferior’ races such as africans, hispanics, and unfit whites had more children than the ‘superior’ white European race, the State should use birth control, sterilization, and abortion to limit the growth of these groups. Galton said, “what Nature does blindly, slowly, and ruthlessly, man may do providently, quickly, and kindly.” Some kindness. The eugenics movement spread like a virus through Europe and the United States, influencing Margaret Sanger to found Planned Parenthood in 1916 and the US Congress to pass forced sterilization laws that sterilized tens of thousands of US citizens up through the 1950’s. Even today, the eugenics movement can be seen in the worldwide abortion industry as it engineers the deaths of tens millions of children every year.
- National Socialism – In the late nineteenth century, evolutionary thinking took hold in Germany through the work of Ernest Haeckel. Edward Larson writes in Evolution that Haeckel “provided scientific support for the particularly virulent racism that infected some strains of German thought during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, culminating in Nazi race theory.” Hitler confirmed this himself in Mein Kampf, writing, “But little as Nature wishes a mating of weaker with stronger individuals, still less does she want the fusion of a higher with a lower race, since otherwise the whole labor of selective evolution…would be set at naught.” After all, if Nature had wiped out millions of lesser races in the past, why should the Nazis not do it in the present?
- Marxist Communism – When Karl Marx first read Origin of Species, he wrote to fellow communist Friedrich Engels saying this was “the book which, in the field of natural history, provides the basis for our view.” After all, if man is not made in God’s image and does not have an eternal soul, then what does it matter if the State kills hundreds, or thousands, or millions of its own people as it seeks to realize the aims of communism? It is no coincidence that Lenin, Stalin, and Mao also happen to be the greatest mass murderers in history with over a hundred million deaths attributed to them.
These are just a few examples of what happened when people assumed the evolutionary history of the world was true. Such an assumption has led to the loss of faith of tens of millions of people, the destruction of hundreds of millions of lives, and the moral sickness of entire cultures. This assumption stands behind the current confusion in sexuality, with homosexuality seen by those who adopt evolutionary history as a natural result of sexual selection over millions of years.

Does one have to be a ‘scientist’ to believe either evolution or creation? No, for both are taken by faith. In the evolution theory no one was there so many many assumptions are made but in the creation account God was and He has left a detailed account of that event. You may read it in Genesis.
‘When Dr. Marcus Ross was asked about being in the film IS GENESIS HISTORY he was ‘…asked what he thought was one of the most fascinating evidences for a global flood. He immediately said “trackways.”
Trackways? I had never heard of trackways.
He explained they were basically fossilized footprints. The impressions left by a creature walking or crawling in soft sediment had hardened and left identifiable tracks. Although fossil footprints were not unusual in themselves, it’s where they occur in relation to other fossils that’s so unusual: trackways consistently appear in rock layers below the bones and teeth and shells of the animals that made them.
But why is that curious?
He said if you think the earth is billions of years old, then those layers of rock represent millions of years of history. How is it possible that footprints could appear millions of years before there’s any evidence of the hard parts of the same animals? If there are footprints, there have to be creatures – where are their fossils? How could millions of years pass with millions of creatures dying (all with bones and teeth and shells) and none of them remain behind?
But there’s another solution. If you think the earth was covered by a global flood, then finding trackways below body fossils makes a lot of sense. Those animals that made the trackways were lifted up and carried higher, their bones and teeth and shells eventually being buried by the rising floodwater. As a result, their body fossils would be found consistently higher than their tracks.
It’s a pattern we see everywhere.
A CURIOUSLY CONSISTENT PATTERN
Marcus emphasized it’s the consistent pattern that that makes this so compelling. It’s a pattern found in trilobites (little marine creatures), in amphibians, and in dinosaurs. According to the old earth paradigm, tracks are being found millions of years before body fossils.
How many years are we talking about? 10 million between trilobite tracks and trilobite fossils; 35 million between amphibian tracks and amphibian fossils; and 10 million between dinosaur tracks and dinosaur fossils. ‘Blood tests, x-rays, CAT scans were being taken; heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels were being monitored; intravenous flows of medicine were being administered and adjusted with feedback from the blood tests. As I sat with my relative for several days, I couldn’t help but think that evolution had nothing to do with any of the science involved.
There were at least six doctors of different specialties seeing him – Infectious Disease, Cardiologist, Gastro-Intestinal, Pulmonologist and Nephrologist, plus, of course, his Primary Care Physician. Not one of them needed to use evolution to look at his case or to analyze the various tests and results. Evolution, you see, does not rely on the Scientific Method and does not have any real application in the practice of ANY science. Rather, it is an attempt to explain biological origins and developments without God. In other words, evolution merely provides “just so stories” to teach the secular notion that we have NOT been designed and built by our great Creator.
Yet, we see a continuing deception about how supposedly “Charles Darwin” should be “the one rallying cry” for all things scientific! Such is the pernicious deceit of evolution. Indeed, this month in secular academic and progressive circles, there is another push to celebrate “International Darwin Day” (February 12, Darwin’s birthday) – for 
“principles of intellectual bravery … scientific thinking, and hunger for truth as embodied in Charles Darwin.” Darwin Day is primarily pushed by such groups as The American Humanist Association (a society advocating for atheists) and their leftist allies in media, government and academia.
My recent experience at the hospital, though, revealed to me once again that science treats human bodies as precisely designed-and-specified complex machines. This, of course, begs the logical inference that with such design and specification, there must be a great Designer!
The doctors were monitoring everything. Was body temperature normal at 98.6 F? Were oxygen levels in the blood above 90%? Was blood pressure normal? Were heart rates normal? Were key enzyme, protein and sugar levels in the blood normal? Was urine output normal? In other words, was the human body functioning according to design specification?
Doctors know what to expect for healthy function of heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and other organs. Outside of the normal range, people get sick and die. The normal range does not change.
But to the modern ear, the theme of everything is “change”. Change is the master key. This is a philosophy that has grown out of evolution … applied not only to biology but to human society. Nothing is fixed, everything evolves. The belief that everything evolves has had a disastrous effect in many areas – much of which has been discussed in these letters.
Not only does this philosophy of change – of the evolution of all things – go against biblical truth, it goes against what has been called “self-evident” truth. The American Declaration of Independence includes these words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
These are transcendent and eternal truths – we are all equal before the cross of Jesus Christ, and by extension, therefore, before the seat of justice. We have a Creator, and He has endowed us with a right to life and freedom as individuals!
Here is another reason why we need to keep proclaiming the truth about evolution. Evolutionism has made “change for the sake of change” tolerated – even when the change has perverted eternal and transcendent truths! We now redefine marriage! We redefine genders! We redefine the taking of innocent human life and call it good! Fortunately, we still have freedoms in this country – but other nations are losing them. Sadly, we are moving in that direction, but for now, in spite of abortion law, we are still free to protest and to lead people to honor the Sanctity of Human Life – as was just celebrated again this January in America!
Under evolutionism, change is to be embraced and facilitated. It is supposedly inevitable. And it is given a positive term – “progressive”. This is actually the same as what the Nazi leaders at the Nuremberg Trials of 1946 claimed when they famously defended their actions in the Concentration Camps by arguing that they were simply “giving evolution an assist”.
We can basically make society whatever we want it to be because constant change means that nothing is permanent, eternal or transcendent. Indeed, with such a philosophy, traditional values must be fought against so mankind can move out of its “current state of imperfection” and toward the enlightened end of evolutionary progress – which tends to be the whims of a dictator.
But this is just not biblical. In fact, it is diabolical. We should not want to celebrate evolutionism with “Darwin Day”. Rather, we should want to continue to expose it for the anti-science, anti-God, destructive, authoritarian-supporting force that it truly is! As Christians, we must keep proclaiming the truth, the whole truth of God’s Word, which does not change but “abides forever” (1 Peter 1:25).
