As they should, ‘AUSTRALIAN nurses are pushing back against a change that requires them to “acknowledge white privilege” before treating patients.
Nurses and midwives around the country must now adhere to a new code of conduct with a section specifically dedicated to “culture” and which details white Australians’ inherent privilege “in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders”.
The new code, which came into effect in March, has been labelled “eye-watering”, “cultural madness” and “unacceptable”. A peak body representing nurses in Queensland is even calling for the chairman of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia to be sacked over it.
“This is eye-watering stuff,” Graeme Haycroft from the Nurses Professional Association of Queensland told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“We’re calling for the resignation of the chairman of the board (Associate Professor Lynette Cusack) because she’s put her name to it and it’s unacceptable.”
Credlin called it “almost too hard to believe”. “Before (a midwife) delivers a baby to an indigenous woman she’s supposed to put her hands up and say: ‘I need to talk to you about my white privilege’, not about my infection control, my qualifications or my training as a midwife?” she asked Mr Haycroft.
He said that was correct, but there’s no requirement to “announce” anything. The nurses must simply abide by the new code which state clearly that “cultural safety is as important to quality care as clinical safety”.
“Cultural safety … requires nurses and midwives to undertake an ongoing process of self-reflection and cultural self-awareness, and an acknowledgment of how a nurse’s/midwife’s personal culture impacts on care,” the code reads.
“In relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, cultural safety provides a decolonising model of practice based on dialogue, communication, power sharing and negotiation, and the acknowledgment of white privilege.
“These actions are a means to challenge racism at personal and institutional levels, and to establish trust in healthcare encounters.”
Mr Haycroft said the code was hastily approved with little consultation.
“It’s all of Australia. There’s 350,000 nurses and midwives Australia-wide and they’re all now subject to this new code,” he said.
“We put a little survey on our website and we asked nurses whether they agreed with the code of conduct. Just over 50 per cent of our members have said ‘this is wrong, do something about it, fight it for us’.”
The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia released a statement on March 1 asking nurses and midwives to “reflect on how the news of conduct relate to their practice”.
“These codes provide a foundation for safe practice and give guidance on crucial issues such as bullying and harassment, professional boundaries and cultural safety. Nurses and midwives need to meet the standards set in these codes, even if their employer also has a code of conduct,” Professor Cusack said.
Nurses and midwives fought the board in November last year when it was revealed a draft of the new code of conduct replaced references to “woman-centred care” with “person-centred care”.
“Midwife means with woman,” UniSA midwifery professor Mary Steen told the Adelaide Advertiser. “The woman is at the centre of a midwife’s scope of practice, which is based on the best available evidence to provide the best care and support to meet individual women’s health and wellbeing needs.”
Professor Alison Kitson, vice president and executive dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University, agreed.
“Retaining the ‘woman-centred’ term is important to remind us all that our care is focused on the women and the significant life-changing experience they are about to have,” she said.
On social media, users called the new code “stupid”.
“To think that it will help a person with indigenous blood if nurses would acknowledge their ‘white privilege’,” one woman wrote. “This is basically labelling of victims and oppressors by race. How embarrassing for Australia.”’ http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/australian-nursing-and-midwifery-code-of-conduct-slammed-over-white-privilege/news-story/4d1d71f45af35b8ffdd25fd40804d5a3
As the world gets nuttier we as believers are to be Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
In the USA ‘The Federal Election Commission (FEC) fined Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign $14,500 for accepting illegal in-kind foreign contributions from the Australian Labor Party (ALP) during the 2016 elections.’ http://dailycaller.com/2018/02/28/bernie-sanders-australia-federal-election-commission/
In backing Bernie Sanders it shows the direction the ALP wants to lead Australia!
The simple answer to the above title is simply that these so-called ‘”clergy” DO NOT believe the Bible.
Genesis 4:8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
The answer to America’s murder problem is a changed heart through repentance and faith in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ! Anyway, here is the article;
‘In the aftermath of another school campus mass murder by a deranged individual, there were a myriad of reactions as people tried to come to grips with why this continues to happen. Many of the reactions are expected — especially those speaking of the need for greater controls over the acquisition of guns. One reaction I don’t understand is why clergy are not calling for more religion instead of more gun control.
By now you know that (to their credit) the FBI stated they did not act on a tip received on the Parkland, Fla., murderer that could have potentially prevented the killing of 17 innocents – mostly children. Plainly said, they screwed up. But I applaud them for admitting their failure which rarely happens with government authorities.
There is a feeling that we must do something. Many who do not understand the first thing about guns or gun ownership think the only way to resolve this is to limit the ownership of long guns, which they like to characterize as “assault weapons.” This is despite the fact that long guns are a small percentage of guns used in murders. I have delineated all this in prior columns. (Please do not assume I am minimizing this loss of life in any way or form.)
I presume that is because it is easier to look at the tool of murder instead of the cause of the action by the individual. Some of you are sick of hearing how things were not like this when those of us of an older generation were growing up. A recent study by the University of Chicago showed that there was actually a greater percentage of households owning guns in the good ol’ days (their study started in 1972). It is thus not an issue of people owning guns; it is the people.
If you argue that guns were different then, soak in this fact; gun ownership in America went up 50% from 1993 through 2013. Homicides went down 50% during that time. Half of that time there was a so-called “assault weapon” ban and half not. A study by the government determined there was no benefit from the banning of certain long guns.
One thing we know was much more prevalent in the past was religious worship. Those who pooh-pooh religion because they have found enlightenment somewhere else will almost never admit that the lack of religious observance is a large part of the problem. The people who you would expect to make claims that religion is the answer are those who have chosen to devote their lives to bringing people to their faith and clergy, whatever faith that may be.
I have not done a complete study, but we have gotten to know these mass murderers pretty well. Almost none, if any, attend religious services regularly. In the aftermath of the Las Vegas mass murder, there was a prayer vigil at the National Cathedral. Rabbi Jack Moline stated, “It is not mental health, age, wealth, educational opportunity or employment; it is guns.” There is no mention there of the fact the Rabbi thought this might have been avoided if the killer was sitting in a synagogue every Friday night.’ https://townhall.com/columnists/brucebialosky/2018/02/25/why-do-clergy-advocate-more-gun-control-instead-of-more-religion-n2452795?utm_source=thdaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl&newsletterad=
It is refreshing to read about a woman that supports pro-life! Such a woman is Joy Villa who said, ‘My statement for the 60th Grammys is Choose Life. I

believe in loving the child and the mother, and I am proudly Pro Life, without any judgment to those to choose otherwise.
Why did I wear a fetus surrounded by a brightly colored womb on my dress and a purse with “Choose Life” to the 60th Grammy Awards?
I am pro-life.
10 years ago my life was shattered, I couldn’t stop crying: I had a beautiful baby growing inside of me… For many women, becoming pregnant is a dream come true, but I was overcome with guilt, agony and shame.
I was penniless, far from home and trapped in an abusive, toxic relationship with a man who had become a shadow of what he once was. At 19 I fell in love with an older man who was very kind hearted with a good heart, but once he began using drugs our relationship quickly became a nightmare. The same arms that once held and protected me were weaponized; night after night, I’d hide in a corner, terrified of being beaten.
I didn’t know who to turn to.
When you’re young and vulnerable, sometimes your mind plays tricks on you: “I don’t deserve happiness!” “I don’t deserve love!” “This is the best I can do!” It pains me to remember how utterly devoid of value I felt at the time, but I truly believed that I deserved to be abandoned, forgotten and punished. I thought “This must be my fault, so I have to stay and try to fix this.”
After a contraceptive failed, I became pregnant at age 20.
After testing positive at a clinic, the nurse began to pressure me to get an abortion. She told me, “We can do it now, it’ll make it all go away. I’ve had several abortions, in fact all three of my daughters have had several. You are too young to have kids. This is the best choice for you.”
She had already made my choice for me.
I left feeling deflated and heart-broken. I had never considered abortion, I wanted to stay and make things right with the father, to have a real family.
But when I was violently thrown against the wall by the baby’s father while heavily pregnant, I knew I needed a real solution. My baby deserved so much better.
That’s when I made the most difficult and important decision of my life: I decided to carry my baby to term and then give her up for adoption to a loving family. I put her life over mine.
It wasn’t easy. Every day was a struggle. Ask any woman: Pregnancy is extraordinarily difficult, especially without family by your side. But my faith in God – and my love for my baby – gave me all the strength I needed to survive.
I found an adoption agency that helped me every step of the way, including taking care of my day to day living expenses. We placed my baby with a loving, caring family in an “open adoption,” which meant I could still be involved in her life. I have a growing and wonderful relationship with my daughter today, (who calls me “Mama Joy”!) because of my decision to choose life.
Adoption gave this terrified young girl the greatest gift of her life: A second chance.
A chance to do the right thing.
A chance at healing.
A chance to be a Mom.
To celebrate my beautiful daughter I hand painted my Pronovias Grammys gown with a recreation of her sonogram when I was 8 months pregnant.
Today, I have chosen to platform to encourage women to think for themselves and gather all the information before making their own decision. Having life giving options like adoption can empower women to do what they feel is right.
There are thousands of women in similar situations to mine. Many are far younger – and more vulnerable than I was. I’m not here to condemn them, or call them names, or try to make them feel worse than they already do.
But I do have a message:
Consider adoption. Consider life. Consider carrying your baby to term, and placing your unborn child with a caring, nurturing, happy family.
You will survive this. You will make it through. And you absolutely, 100 percent, deserve all the happiness and love in the world. You’re so much stronger than you know.
You deserve a second chance at life… and your baby deserves a first chance.
Life is precious. And so are you.’ http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/01/31/joy-villa-why-choose-life-over-abortion-incredible-journey-that-began-for-me-at-20.html

The left are always trying to change something that need not to be changed. One of those things is Australia Day. Interestingly ‘70% of Australians do not want the date of Australia Day changed, according to a new poll released today by the Institute of Public Affairs.
“It is abundantly clear that everyday Australians want to celebrate our great country on 26 January”, said Dr Bella d’Abrera, Director of the Foundations of Western Civilisation Program with the free market tank the Institute of Public Affairs.
A poll of over 1,000 Australians conducted by Research Now commissioned by the IPA found that:
“The poll confirms that the left-leaning elements of our politics and media that are obsessed with identity politics are completely out of step with the majority of Australians when it comes to our national day. They want to divide, rather than unite Australians.”
“26 January marks the foundation of modern Australia and it should to be celebrated by all Australians. Rather than being ashamed of it, we should be proud of it.”
“76% of Australians believe we have a history to be proud of. It is encouraging that Australians overwhelmingly reject the negative rhetoric about our nation’s history continually pushed by many on the left.”
“This is evidence that Australians both value and understand British institutions such as liberal democracy and the rule of law which have made Australia the successful nation that it is today,” said Dr d’Abrera.’ https://ipa.org.au/publications-ipa/media-releases/majority-australians-support-australia-day-26-january
Now, I am off to enjoy a good ole Australian Day BBQ. See ya.
What else is new? Well, ‘The newest Democratic congressional candidate in Massachusetts, Tahirah Amatul-Wadud, is a prominent official of not one but two Islamist groups: Jamaat ul-Fuqra and
the Council on American-Islamic Relations(CAIR).
Clarion Project was the first to report on Amatul-Wadud’s political aspirations when she expressed her intentions to eventually become the governor of Massachusetts.
Now, the 44-year old attorney just announced that she’s running in the Democratic primary for Massachusetts’ 1st Congressional District, challenging Rep. Richard Neal, who has held the seat since 1988. The media coverage has focused on her status as an attorney in Springfield and that she is a four-year member of the Commission on the Status of Women.
Her campaign website says she will improve national security by “combating terrorism and supremacy in all its forms.” She also mentions criminal justice as one of her top concerns.
Nowhere does her campaign website mention her official involvement with Muslims of America/Jamaat ul-Fuqra or the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Her business website does identify her as the “counsel” to the “Islamberg” commune that serves as MOA’s national headquarters. An obvious decision was made to omit that from her biography.
Media coverage of her candidacy also failed to report on these affiliations. In fact, she was practically endorsed by Amanda Drane, a reporter for the Berkshire Eagle, who called her a “champion of marginalized communities.”
CAIR also promoted her candidacy in its national newsletter, leaving out her long-time affiliation with MOA/Fuqra. CAIR-Massachusetts’ website only makes a vague reference to her being a “general counsel for a New York Muslim congregation.”
As of the publication date of this article, none of MOA’s official websites or social media pages have acknowledged her candidacy.
She is running as a Democrat and not with MOA’s Islamic Political Party of America. The status of that party is unclear.
Fuqra/Muslims of America
The criminal history, terrorist attacks and secretive and paramilitary nature of Fuqra/MOA have long been documented. MOA claims to have 22 “Islamic villages” across the country. The U.S. government recently confirmed that there are ongoing investigations into MOA.’ https://clarionproject.org/slamist-extremist-group-member-announces-run-congress-massachusetts/
Only Islamists get by with this kind of stuff!
If you think this was a victory for these two you are wrong. In spite of the picture the Labor Party candidate LOST! Just as there is FAKE NEWS there are FAKE PHOTOS!
In Australia it is getting harder and harder to get the real news. Most so-called journalists are biased against anyone that smells conservative. Even homosexual Milo Yiannopoulos gets bad press here all because his politics lean in favour of the conservative!
The point is this, look around and read more than one news web site. Now, that is hard to do here in Australia but if you are a conservative, you MUST if you truly want to know the real news rather than the fake news put out there by MOST of the mainline media sources such as the ABC and almost all the free to air Australian channels.
If you don’t search for verification of the news you just may end up believing the loser is the winner!
