This is the story of the man who met the Lord Jesus on his last day alive.
This is the story of the man who met the Lord Jesus on his last day alive.
Proverbs 27:9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.
Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
‘They say that a good friend knows all your stories but a best friend has lived them with you. Indeed! It is the Friendship Month! I thank the universe for my best friend, Adrian.
Sitting at Central park, waiting for him, I was going through some of our old snaps. What happens when two confused and starkly opposite souls meet at the threshold of adulthood? Life only gets hilarious and better! Also, you sail through the highs and lows together.
I remember this time when I was in complete chaos. It was getting difficult for me to share with anyone how was I feeling. Yet, I was part of every gathering, playing the guitar and being the soul of each party. Amidst all the joy and laughter Adrian had noticed something which no one else had.
“Bob, you can fool the whole world but not me! You’re unhappy! I can see that. Tell me what’s wrong?” he had asked. He was right! I was pretending to be happy. I confided in him how helpless and low I felt!
That was the phase of my life when I was looking for a job switch. I wanted to be a writer. My family wasn’t confident enough. Others warned me to be cautious. Adrian was the only one who knew and understood my passion.
Three days later, I had got a call from him saying exactly this, “Bob there is an interview going on for a writer in this company I know. The name and address I will text you. Be there at sharp 10 a.m.,” he said.
“But I am still wondering if I should…” but he didn’t let me complete. “Bob, please! Don’t overthink and argue. Come out of this unhappy trap. You have my back! I have full faith in you. Give it a shot!” he had expressed.
It was his encouragement that landed me here with this job. He was the first one to whom I had broken the news. “See! I had told you! I knew you would make it. Now let’s celebrate!” was his reply.
It’s as if he knew my favorite song and reminded me of the lyrics when I had forgotten it. And, then we sang it together. This was just one story. Every time he has showed to me what true friendship looks like!
Friendship Week is round the corner. I’ve planned an adventurous surprise trip with him! He has no clue about it! I’ll tell him now when he comes.
True friendship is based on trust, support and sincerity. It’s hard to find a person who believes in you when your own confidence is shaken. They are there to wipe your tears when you cry and also there to laugh at your lame jokes when no one else is laughing. We must treasure such souls forever!’ https://nl.123greetings.com/oh-friend-you-have-my-back-10022020?utm_source=img1&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=Feb20_nl_wk2
Ecclesiastes 10:18 By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
‘The house at 513 N. Court was built in the early 1880s for W.R. Daum President of the Electric Street Railway Company. The house is a contributing structure to the Court Hill
Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The home is a unique example of brick Italianate style with segmented arches of cream-colored brick, cream-colored brick quoins and decorative cornice brackets.’
As the years pass.
Then ‘As the result of fire damage and neglect, the property is currently placarded by the Health Department as unfit for human habitation. The property has been placarded by the Health Department numerous times in the past and the current case was opened following a fire in October 2018. Even before the fire, the property had been poorly
converted from a single-family residence into an 8-unit multi-family building. Features of the most recent deficiency list include: damaged floors, ceilings, walls and windows; smoke and fire damage; deficient plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems; and broken windows, doors, soffit, fascia and deficient structural elements.’
Then many years later ‘As this property remains vacant, its condition continues to deteriorate and the owner has shown little interest in making repairs and maintaining the property. It has been a
magnet for looters, squatters and vandals increasing the fire threat. Nuisance issues including tall grass and litter are persistent. In addition, in its present condition the property continues to have a negative catalytic effect on the rest of the historic district.’ https://ottumwapost.wordpress.com/2020/02/07/historic-ottumwa-house-included-among-2020-most-endangered-properties/
You know, houses and humans are much the same. Both MUST have maintenance! For the human it is more than physical it is also spiritual. The Lord Jesus said in Luke 12:23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Yes, there is more to life than food and clothing for Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away James 4:14. How have you been in preparing for the day when the physical vanisheth away? Have you been diligent or slothful?
The answer is John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him and Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
There are LESSONS to be learned even from a house!
Boy, the Race2Dinner thing is simply one of many anti-racism and anti-hate groups speaking out against supposed patriarchy, white superiority, and white supremacy. If society is as bad as many of these people see it we are in a BIG mess. Now, I know there are people who dislike and even hate others who are not LIKE them! These people come from every corner of society, white, black, brown, yellow, red, poor, rich or middle class.
I believe if we desire for our children to be taught courtesy for others, to be truthful and not a liar, and many other necessities for living in a civilized society it all begins at HOME. The Bible, YES, the BIBLE says in Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. 4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Oh, I forgot you can’t have religion (especially Christianity) in the public school. However, that’s the very reason why we find ourselves in the situation we are in! God and His Word are out and lawlessness is in!
Searching the internet I came across this https://westseattleblog.com/2020/01/west-seattle-hs-families-discuss-racism-equity-at-workshop-before-no-place-for-hate-school-wide-launch/

Before I get to the article allow me to say that the Bible tells us that the FIRST MURDER ever committed was by a brother against his own brother. The first murder was NOT a racial thing but a hatred of one brother against his own brother! In reality, Cain was really mad at God but he couldn’t do anything to God so he took out his hatred on his brother! That’s really what is at stake today in this racial issue. People are angry at God.
Now, we read that ‘Members of the West Seattle High School community gathered to participate in an “Undoing Racism and Teaching Equity to Teens” educational workshop led by Families of Color Seattle (FOCS).’ Now, to begin with here we have a group formed on the color of their skin! Hmm. I digress, ‘The workshop, held in the WSHS library last Wednesday night as part of the WSHS PTSA general meeting, was part of the school’s No Place for Hate program by the Anti-Defamation League, with a goal to “help establish and maintain a school environment where all students can thrive.” It’s being launched three months after a “school-wide positive response” was promised following incidents in which students were disciplined for “racist language and symbols.”
After a brief WSHS PTSA meeting to start the evening, the program was introduced by WSHS principal Brian Vance, along with WSHS Racial Equity Team members Angela Ferda, Amber Donaldson, Jennifer Hall, and Annie Zhou.
Vance noted that due to snow cancellations the prior week, WSHS had to postpone its original January 15 kickoff of the No Place for Hate program — they will now be introducing it to students and families on February 5 (during Black Lives Matter in School Week from February 3-7).’https://westseattleblog.com/2020/01/west-seattle-hs-families-discuss-racism-equity-at-workshop-before-no-place-for-hate-school-wide-launch/ Here we now have a BLACK LIVES MATTER school week!?
I am not saying there might not be something good in all this BUT the point is still it all begins at home and with the parents. Unfortunately, many homes do not have both parents living in the house along with other sins occurring within the house and so often these children simply mimic what they see and hear at home. One parent commenting on the situation at this school rightly said ‘But parents, this starts at home and it’s your responsibility to dig deep on this with your kids.’ This parent is so right!
Then at https://westseattleblog.com/2019/10/students-disciplined-for-racist-language-and-symbols-at-west-seattle-high-school/ the parent is introduced to BEYOND THE GOLDEN RULE. On pages four and five this pdf speaks to, ‘Parents As Teachers
I have a child of my own now, and my mother’s words come back to me. And I know
this: Teaching tolerance must begin with the Golden Rule, but it certainly does not end
there. Too often, simply advising a child to “do unto others as you would have them do
unto you” is insufficient.
There are times when we as parents must explain things that are painful and unfair
— racism, sexism, stereotypes, hate. Times when we must comfort our children, times
I have had to help my 10-year-old son learn that what some would do unto him isn’t
always kind or fair.
Like the day we stopped at a local carnival and I was forced to explain to him why
he could not have the small photo he had won while shooting darts — a caricature of a
bulldog against an image of the Confederate flag.
Or the Christmas he wanted an Easy Bake Oven and couldn’t understand why family members and friends balked at the notion.
Or why his elementary school’s “Indian” mascot — a feather-toting, stereotypical
warrior — was offensive and unacceptable.
Such moments have provided learning opportunities for my son and for me. Here’s
what I’ve learned:
Speak openly. When we are honest with children about our country’s history of bigotry, sexism and stereotypes, we help prepare them to challenge these issues when they
arise. A child who knows the racial history of the Confederate flag, for example, is less
likely to brandish that symbol out of ignorance.
Model equity. As parents, we are our kids’ first teachers. When it comes to teaching tolerance, actions speak louder than words. When you say that boys and girls are
equal but refuse to buy your son an Easy Bake Oven because it’s a “girls’ toy,” what message do you send?’ http://www.tolerance.org/sites/default/files/general/beyond_golden_rule.pdf
Did you discern the agenda in the above? No wonder home schooling is becoming more popular!
Psalm 25:4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Continuing on the subject of Climate Scam Change and eating less meat it seems insects might be next on the menu. Consider this nutty notion that ‘As human induced climate change already threatens to bring more extreme weather conditions like drought in coming years, insects pose as an alternate source of food for farmers in various part of world.’
Thus, it is imperative to raise public awareness about the beneficial aspects of integrating insect in our diet.
More recently, Swedish Government agency, Vivonna has been doing exactly the same. It has been promoting insect-derived food at a whole new level. It is awarding half a million kronor (around £42,600) each to fifteen different projects across the country, each of which is tasked with creating an “edible prototype” of a new food. Among the mouth-watering projects being funded are an attempt to produce a “good and healthy product from mealworms which are fed on vegetable food scraps to become a climate friendly source of protein”, “food prototypes” made from “refined mealworms”, and mincemeat made out of “climate smart insects” such as crickets.
With such incentives, we might actually be devouring fancy insect-laden dish in near future while leaving smaller carbon footprint at the same time.’http://climatetracker.org/eating-insects-can-help-solve-food-insecurity/
This whole Climate Scam is about man being god and throwing the Creator God on the scrapheap of history. Again we MUST be reminded of what God’s Word says in Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Man needs to repent of his sins and turn to the Creator. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Have a good day, I’m going to go and have a steak!
A friend sent this to me.
‘BY A 15-year-old SCHOOL KID who got an A+ for this entry:
The Lord’s Prayer Is not allowed in most US Public schools any more.
A kid in Minnesota, wrote the following
NEW School Prayer:
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God’s name is prohibited by the State..
We’re allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks…
They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the ‘unwed daddy,’ our Senior King.
It’s ‘inappropriate’ to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such ‘judgments’ do not belong..
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles…
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It’s scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen’
Psalm 33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Psalm 144:15 …yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.
Zechariah 4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things?
1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice evermore. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

‘The sun is barely out these days and it is so cloudy here in Big Apple. Both Aaliyah and I were at Mrs. Bradley’s garden enjoying our first cup of coffee. They say that happiness is a state of mind. Indeed! Spending time with Mrs. Bradley reassured this statement once again. Seldom have I ever seen her without that spark in her eyes! It was the same that day as well!
“You look so happy Mrs. Bradley! What happened?” asked Aaliyah. “Oh, nothing special! I am so happy to see the January flowers blooming in my garden. They look so beautiful,” she expressed.
“Yes, they do!” I replied. “You know Bob, it doesn’t cost us a fortune to be and stay happy. We can find joy in the little things that encompass us. It can be as simple as waking up to the first ray of the sun or making myself coffee every morning. Not to forget, enjoying it with my favorite cookies,” she said.
“That is so true! I remember how solving Rubik’s cube during my school days gave me immense joy. Currently making Kong’s bed at night and cooking the Sunday brunch makes me delighted,” I expressed.
“What about you Aaliyah?” asked Mrs. Bradley. “I feel happy when I am appointed as the photographer in our intimate gatherings. Capturing moments and expressions is so priceless! I also love collecting fancy stationery for Bob,” she expressed. Listening to this, I gave Aaliyah a peck on her cheek. Then after finishing our hot beverages, we went inside to make some fancy Italian brunch for the day.
Our conversation made me reflect on the fact that how simple life is! We are often told to ‘think big’ or life will feel good only when we ‘achieve that dream’. It’s as if we were just born to relentlessly strive for something profound to be happy. That only makes us get exhausted and lifeless! How many times have we been asked to enjoy the daily flow of life? Not many times!
We are here to live and not merely exist. It’s time that we start appreciating the little pleasures in life and have gratitude. Let us learn and get into the habit of experiencing joy in the little things that we do or come across. Hey! How about enjoying an aimless banter with your friend or trying that new recipe or enjoying the cotton candies? Do it and see. ‘ https://nl.123greetings.com/finding-happiness-in-little-things-06012020?utm_source=img1&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=Jan20_nl_wk2
