This article is worth a read. The financial situation the West now finds itself in is due to political stupidity or worse. Anyway, this article is pretty good in telling it like it is. https://www.theepochtimes.com/anatomy-of-the-banking-crisis-of-2023_5128105.html?utm_source=share-btn-copylink
‘Last month, 33,333 properties across the U.S. faced foreclosure, a 181 percent jump from March 2021 and 29 percent pop from February, according to a report by foreclosure tracker Attom. The first quarter saw 78,271 properties with a foreclosure filing, a 39 percent from the previous quarter and 132 percent from last year.
Those figures represent the highest number of foreclosures since March 2020 when nearly 47,000 U.S. homes held foreclosure filings, said Rick Sharga, executive vice president of market intelligence for ATTOM.’https://strangesounds.org/2022/04/the-foreclosure-avalanche-has-started-181-surge-to-highest-levels-since-march-2020.html
Former Senator from South Australia, Cory Bernardi sends A Weekly Dose of Common Sense via email each week. The latest was concerning the coronavirus and the money governments are throwing at it. Cory wrote; ‘This is killing us!
No, not the Coronavirus but the government response to it.
I’ll explain exactly how the damage is being done in a moment but first we need some perspective on Covid-19.
The Coronavirus is highly contagious and particularly dangerous for the elderly, chronically ill or those with compromised immune systems. For the rest of us, the effects are more likely that of a nasty bout of the flu or hardly any symptoms at all.
At this time, the alarmism and catastrophic predictions aren’t aligning with the facts but then again they rarely do.
Yes, there are many people infected with the virus and people are dying but the headline figures don’t paint the full picture.
In countries with widespread testing of the population, the mortality rate of those infected is less than one percent. In places like Italy, 99 per cent of fatalities have occurred amongst those in the high risk categories.
Put simply, this virus is very bad news if you are vulnerable but doesn’t appear much for the rest of us to worry about.
That is unless you are in the 99.9 per cent whose lives have been turned upside down by overzealous governments around the world.
To paraphrase US President Donald Trump, the supposed cure could be worse than the disease.
Right now, the world is being driven into a global depression because of government action. They have effectively shut down the business community virtually guaranteeing an economic collapse.
On top of that they are throwing helicopter money at all and sundry in a desperate bid to prop up the crumbling economy.
The economics are pretty straightforward and I’ll make it as simple as I can.
If you have to shut down your business for a month with no revenue, you still have your costs to pay. That means it will take two, three or more months of normal (profitable) trading just to pay that first months costs.
The longer the closure goes on the more time it takes to get back to the starting line.
This is the real contagion attached to this virus.
A failing business often causes others to fail along the way. People lose their jobs and stop spending because they are scared about the future.
In short, our society depends on confidence to keep it going and the lack of confidence has been created by government response to Coronavirus and fuelled by media hysteria.
I have said before, no government gets re-elected for avoiding a crisis. They only benefit from over-stating the danger, responding to it and claiming credit for the better than expected solution.
So when you hear that 200k people or more could die from this virus in Australia, you can be pretty confident that the actual number will be a fraction of that. Then, the government can claim to have saved so many lives through their draconian response.
The problem is that long after the Corona panic of 2020 is gone, the disastrous economic hangover will linger far longer and do much more damage than the virus ever did.’
Cory did finish by stating ‘P.S – No matter how overcooked the hysteria attached to Coronavirus may be, there is a very real danger for many in our community….and many subscribers to this e-letter. Please take care and protect yourself. Self-isolate if in high risk category or showing symptoms, adopt some extra personal hygiene practices and seek medical help if symptoms arise. It’s just common sense.’
Whatyareckon?
This is the latest email we received from one of the large grocery chains. China has the Western world in a dizzy; socially, politically, financially, and economically. Who would have ever thought two months ago toilet paper would be so valued?
‘These remain challenging times and with the situation evolving, I’d like to share what … is doing to support our customers, team members and the community.
Helping you get access to what you need
We’ve been working hard to keep our shelves stocked and Delivery and Pick up windows available. However, as you are no doubt aware, demand is still very high and products are being bought more quickly than usual when they arrive in store.
To help everyone access the essential things they need, limits are now in place on toilet paper, wipes, paper towels, serviettes, rice and some other items.
It also, unfortunately, means that toilet paper won’t be available for Pick up orders for the time being, but our team will be happy to see if toilet paper is available in store when you come in to pick up your order.
Our toilet paper suppliers continue to work on meeting increased demand, and we’re working with some suppliers to prioritise the production of smaller pack sizes, so we can make more packs available to you this week.
We’re actively helping seniors in our community
We’ve now partnered with Meals On Wheels to begin the delivery of toilet paper directly to seniors in need. The first deliveries were made in NSW today and we’re doing what we can to expand this service in the weeks to come.
Our stores are being cleaned more than usual
As a food retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place. However, as a precautionary measure and out of care for everyone’s wellbeing, we’ve added an extra 4 hours of proactive deep cleaning in each Supermarket every day.
Keeping you updated if there is a case in one of our stores
If one of our customers or team members is confirmed with COVID-19, we’ll let you know in that store. We continue to take advice from the Department of Health to make sure we’re taking all the necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety, including additional detailed cleaning in store where necessary.
Looking after our team members
This week we announced a number of extra ways we’re supporting our teams during this time. This includes making sure we look after anyone impacted by the outbreak, whether they are full-time, part-time or casual. We will, of course, keep our focus on our team members as the situation changes.
In the meantime, I’d like to thank you for your continued patience and for showing respect and support for our team as they work hard to support you and our local communities.’
If you have time read these verses. Revelation 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. 2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image. 3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea. 4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. 7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. 8 ¶ And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. 10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, 11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds. 12 ¶ And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
Christian believers will not be on earth when these verses occur but the world is unknowingly preparing politically for these events. Are you prepared not to be here?
