The ‘transition’ to wind and solar is delivering punishing power prices to those who can least afford it, and the inevitable power rationing surrounding collapses in wind and solar output is crushing businesses of all shapes and sizes.

The zealots behind it couldn’t care less about the vulnerable and impoverished that drift along at the very edge of society. And are more than content to destroy enterprise and businesses and, indeed, whole industries along with the thousands of jobs they generate.

The cultists readily justify the misery with a self-assured form of malice towards their underlings, who are treated with the kind of contempt last seen in Stalin’s purges and Chairman Mao’s, ‘Great Leap Forward’.

Many a defeat is the product of a grand delusion; Europe’s obsession with wind and solar is just another example. Beaten by Vlad Putin’s ability to restrict the gas it needs to run fast-start-up gas peaking plants (essential to cover rapid and unpredictable collapses in wind output and rapid and wholly predictable collapses in solar output).

There isn’t any hope of Germany or Britain avoiding an outright energy calamity, this coming winter. Power prices are spiralling out of control, with no end in sight, and electricity and gas rationing are already the new normal. How long the proletariat will stand for it, is another matter.

“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party.”

That was the message former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a now-former Hawaii Democrat, delivered Tuesday. Her message was clear: The Democratic Party has gone off the deep end of left-wing extremism.

In a 30-minute video announcing the launch of her podcast and an accompanying essay on Substack, Gabbard, 41, announced that she’s leaving the Democratic Party and laid out her reasons for doing so.

This move, it seems, has been in the works for a while.

Hurricane Ian is in the history books, having unleashed its Category 4 fury on southwestern Florida. Even as the area slowly digs out and rebuilds, the devastation and tragedies will linger in reality and memories.

Ian was the latest of 123 hurricanes to hit the Sunshine State since official recordkeeping began in 1851. But not surprisingly, some wasted no time trying to link Ian to the most dominant issue of our time.

Climate change is “rapidly fueling super hurricanes,” a Washington Post headline proclaimed. “I grew up [in Florida] and these storms are intensifying,” CNN’s Don Lemon insisted. Rising temperatures in the atmosphere and ocean are making hurricanes “stronger, slower and wetter,” reporter Morgan McFall-Johnsen asserted. They’re becoming more frequent and intense, multiple commentators pronounced.

In Sunday’s paper Washington Post “Fact Checker” sought to downplay the “election denialism” of Stacey Abrams. She wasn’t a Liar to say she “won” her 2018 election for governor of Georgia, or to say it was “stolen from the people of Georgia. No, it was merely twisty rhetoric, no cartoon Pinocchios needed.
