Shortages of the following may be leading to the new norm of shortages and inflation:

• Neon -the gas crucial to manufacturing electronic chips.

• Urea – the ingredient to make the EPA required Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) additive for all diesel vehicles.

• Refineries – projections of 20 percent closures over the next 5 years of these aging infrastructures will result in less manufacturing to meet growing demands.

• Oil – The U.S. is following California to be totally dependent on foreign countries to meet the demands within its borders.

Neon is an important component in the lasers that etch semiconductors. Like krypton and xenon, it is a by-product of steel manufacturing. Steel producers separate air to control levels of oxygen and nitrogen delivered to the blast furnace. This involves the fractional distillation of liquid air.

Renewable energy rent-seekers and politicos have been gripped by a sense of palpable panic: the mob won’t tolerate blackouts for very long, and repeated power rationing will have the same incendiary effect on public sentiment.

The destruction of reliable and affordable power supplies caused by chaotically intermittent and heavily subsidised wind and solar was perfectly predictable and it was perfectly avoidable.

Think of it as a malignant cancer that spreads and ultimately devours its host. Wrecking the profitability of conventional generators is integral to the model of punitive mandates and ludicrously generous subsidies, which advance the unreliables at the expense of everything else that works. Following up on Joe’s “as long as it takes,” response to a press reporter’s question at the June 28 NATO summit in Madrid regarding how long American drivers should be prepared to endure premium gasoline penalties, his top economic advisor highlighted the key reason this pump pain patience is so important.

When asked for comments later that day by CNN‘s Victor Blackwell “What do you say to the families that say ‘we can’t afford to pay $4.85 a gallon for months, if not years,’ this is not sustainable,” White House National Economic Council director Brian Deese affirmed:

“What you heard from the president today was a clear articulation of the stakes.”

Deese then clarified that “This is about the future of the liberal world order, and we have to stand firm.”

Renewable energy rent seekers keep telling us that our power bills will inevitably fall because wind and solar power are ‘free’ and getting cheaper all the time.

In the lead up to the Federal election in May, Labor’s Anthony Albanese promised that all Australian households would see a $275 cut to their power bills, as soon as he and his wind and solar obsessed Labor took the reins and put Australia’s ‘inevitable’ wind and solar transition, back on track.
