The disturbing scene and excerpts of a fiery sermon that accompanied it have since been picked up by Muslim-skeptical English language outlets, at least one of which claimed the effigy is of French President Emmanuel Macron, though there is no evidence in the video that this is the case. Macron has come under fire from Muslims around the world for his government’s recent efforts to crack down on Islamic extremism following the beheading of history teacher Samuel Paty last month by a Chechen Muslim immigrant.
Video of the beheading is set to a song that lyrically vows to “grind into dust” those who draw the Prophet Mohammed and declares beheading to be the only fitting punishment for insulting him. The grisly pageant was accompanied by a sermon in which the female cleric vowed vengeance on the enemies of Islam, especially France.

In Detroit, officials blocked about 30 people, mostly Republicans, from entering a vote-counting facility amid unfounded claims that the vote count in Michigan was fraudulent.
It is normal in U.S. elections for states to count votes for days, or sometimes even weeks, after voting ends. Election experts say fraud is very rare in U.S. voting.
Unfounded and debunked claims about the integrity of Tuesday’s election have spread on social media by Trump and high-profile Republican accounts and the hashtag #StopTheSteal has gained momentum.
Facebook groups are billed as community forums for shared interests but watchdog organizations and social media researchers have argued that they can be hotbeds for hyper-partisan misinformation.
The Stop the Steal group’s description says: “Democrats are scheming to disenfranchise and nullify Republican votes. It’s up to us, the American People, to fight and to put a stop to it.”
The group directed new members to an email sign-up page “in the event that social media censors this group.”
The group’s administrations and moderators included veteran Tea Party activist Amy Kremer and her daughter Kylie, as well as Jennifer Lawrence and Dustin Stockton, two members of the group We Build the Wall, which were raided by federal agents in August as part of a fraud investigation.
Attempts to reach administrators and moderators on Facebook were not immediately successful. An email and a telephone message left with Women for America First was not immediately returned.

‘In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink (John 7:37).
We are told in our American histories that De Soto, the Spanish explorer, in the early days of the discovery and colonization of our glorious land, landed on the shores of Florida with the idea of finding the legendary Fountain of Youth. Of course, he never found it. He is buried somewhere beneath the waters of the Mississippi. Others have followed in the searchings of De Soto. Beauty culture, medical science, gland transplantation—those of monkeys into human beings, as though the poor apes were not already suffering enough from the base accusation that they are responsible by evolutionary descent or ascent (depending on whether you are looking up from
man, or down from the anthropoids) for men’s vagaries—and many other things have been tried to insure the longevity, the vitality, the youth of the human family.
All have successfully and successively failed.
Here, however, there is proposed by God, there is proffered by the Lord Jesus Christ, there is presented by the Holy Spirit a real fountain, not only of the passing youth, but of life, of eternal life, of eternal youth, vigor and joy.
The setting of the story is simple. The feast to which reference is made herein is the Feast of the Tabernacles. This feast continued for eight days, and the first and last days were of primary importance, particularly the latter. On that day, the priests were wont to bring water from the
pool of Siloam, to offer it to the Lord, while they sang—“With joy shall ye draw water from the wells of salvation.”
Our Lord improved the occasion by inviting the people of His day and time, and of all the succeeding ages and generations, to partake of the water of life. “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”
This is a thirsty world.
- There is physical thirst, mental thirst, moral thirst, spiritual thirst.
- There is the thirst of the artist for beauty.
- There is the thirst of the scientist for knowledge.
- There is the thirst of the toiler for ease.
- There is the thirst for wealth.
- There is the thirst for peace.
- There is the thirst for pleasure.
- There is the burning, blighting, destroying thirst of gambling.
- There is the thirst for freedom.
- There is the thirst for financial assurance.
- There is the thirst for safety here and hereafter.
This entire world is just one vast, dry desert, with the generations of men, lost travelers, following some will-o’-the-wisp or other—philosophical, psychological, philanthropic, political, educational, reformational, even religious suggestion—only to find them to be deluding mirages that rob them of what little hope self, sin and Satan may have left them. The rise of all sorts of cults, of off brand religions, of palm readers, of spiritualists, or clairvoyants, are but some of the
signs of this thirst assailing mankind. No one has ever been able to find entire satisfaction for that burning longing save in the Lord Jesus Christ.
May we then analyze His glorious invitation in this way. First, to what are we invited? Second, who is invited? Third, why should we accept the invitation?
Firstly, Jesus Cries, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink”
This is, of course, figurative, metaphorical. Jesus also speaks of Himself as the bread of life, “the meat which endureth to everlasting life.” Our coming to Christ to drink means that we are to receive from Him all those spiritual blessings, all those eternal mercies that He has to bestow
upon us. But, to be more specific, let us consider the benefits to which Christ invites us, of which we may freely and abundantly drink and partake at this fountain of life: There is the receiving of pardon from all of our sins.
You will never, never, never have quietness of min, peace of heart, soul satisfaction, until you know your sins are forgiven. The haunting remorse, the biting days, the sleepless nights, will be your constant heritage until you come under the blood. You may lose yourself for a time in the whirl of some pleasure, in the stupefaction of some sin, but you will come to yourself again and again to find that you have been grasping the wind, with the taste of gall and bitter wormwood
on your tongue. The forgiveness of sins is your primal need. It is only through Christ that you can obtain the blessing. He obtained it for you by His death. Only the water and the blood which flowed from Immanuel’s side can cleanse you from all sin.
Then there is the knowledge of the truth.
Without Christ we wander in doubts and uncertainties and are subject to innumerable mistakes. If we would walk surely, we must follow Jesus. He Himself said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
He says again, “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.”
Also, there is spiritual consolation.
In Him we have the grace and the power for complete sanctification, to walk unspotted in the midst of this crooked and perverse generation. He gives rest to the weary soul bowed down by the vicissitudes of life. One of His very mightiest invitations is couched in the familiar words,
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” He keeps constantly before our minds the promises of His Holy Word, the presence of His blessed Spirit, the certain prospects of future glory.
Last of all, we are invited to eternal happiness.
Nowhere on earth can we find this save in the Lord. No one in all creation can bestow it save the Christ of God. He has it in His power and at His bestowal. It is all the fruit of his sufferings and
death. He, and He alone, can give us the sight and enjoyment of God. He, and He alone, can lead us to Living Fountains. Of what use is all the world if we miss eternal bliss?
Secondly, let us consider to whom this urgent invitation is presented
The text specifically tells us that it is given to every man who thirsts. This invitation is not limited. Formerly the Jews claimed the exclusive privilege of being God’s people; but now both Jews and Gentiles are invited to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Not only is this invitation given to all nations, but to every kind of sinner; however great, numerous, or longstanding your sins may be. While Jesus was here upon the earth, He healed bodily diseases that had continued many years. The same Physician can cure spiritual diseases of the longest standing. His blood cleanses from all sin. - He came to save the chief of sinners.
- He saved a persecuting Saul.
- He saved the thief on the cross.
- He prayed for His murderers, and God forgave three thousand of them on the day of
Pentecost—perhaps many others later. - He made the first offers of mercy to those who despised and crucified Him.
He will cast none out. “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh
to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37).
But what is this thirsting after Christ? Surely it means the thirst of the soul.
There must be a sense of the want of Christ.
Oh, brother! Oh, sister! - You want Him for justification.
- You want Him for comfort.
- You want Him for peace.
- You want Him for power.
- You want Him in sorrow.
- You want Him in the hour of death.
- You want Him to represent you at the judgment.
- You want Him to keep you out of hell.
- You want Him to take you into heaven.
- You want Him.
- You need Him.
- You will perish without Him.
Then there must be a sense of the worth of Christ.
He is most excellent in every one of His mighty attributes. He is our only Saviour. He is our sole physician. He is able to supply every want. He is able to heal every disease. He is able to save to the uttermost depths of depravity, to the uttermost degree of temptation, to the uttermost duration of time. There is no soul too steeped in iniquity for His mighty power to release. There is no sin too deeply ingrained for His matchless merits to remit. There is no sinner so far in the wilderness of transgression that Christ cannot bring Him back, safe-cradled in His bosom.
Finally, there must be an ardent, passionate desire after Him
Thirst is the word. You must thirst after Him, thirst for Him. You must long, and tell me, do you not long to taste the sweetness of His pardon, the warmth of His grace, the depths of His love, the breadth of His comfort, the length of His eternal salvation? Tell me, if you think I am too
vehement, too insistent. What have you without Jesus? Tell me, what will you take in exchange for your soul’s salvation and satisfaction in Christ? Tell me, what is the devil giving you that will pay you for unhappiness here and torture hereafter?
The last question is: why should we accept this invitation?
There are numberless reasons. I have time for just a very few of them, a limited few.
First, there is the consideration of the Person who invites us.
It is not some prophet, some preacher, some priest, not even some church, or churches. It is Jesus, the beloved Son of God, the King of kings, the Lord of lords. - How would you treat an invitation from the President of the United States?
- How would you treat an invitation from the King of England?
- How would you treat an invitation from the governor of this state?
- How would you treat an invitation from one whom you held in high esteem?
- How will you treat this invitation from the Sovereign of the Universe?
There is the consideration of our wants.
How desperately bad is our state out of Christ. We are in bondage to sin. We are liable to all sorts of afflictions, to pain, to death. There is the uneasiness and horror of the soul in view of the inevitable wrath of God that is sure to be visited upon our sins. We cannot help ourselves. I cannot say that often enough. We are without strength, without hope, without God. But let us come to Christ and all will be well here and hereafter.
Then, there is the welcome that others have found in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has made them the sons of God. He has showered them with the abundance, aye, the superabundance of His mercies.
I have met too many people, both young and old, men and women, in the upper classes and in the lowest strata of society, who were desperately sorry for every minute they had spent in the service of Satan. I have yet to meet a single Christian, and I have met millions of them under all
sorts of circumstances and conditions, who was sorry for having accepted Jesus Christ as his or her personal Saviour. The unanimous testimony of the satisfied generations of Christians is
another great proof that your own life would be best in the hands of the Redeemer.
There is, also, the mighty plea that these benefits to which we are invited, these benefits that I have attempted to portray before you, can be obtained nowhere else in all this vast, wide world.
Christ is the only fountain which sends forth these streams of salvation to lost mankind. There is no other mediator between God and man but Christ. - There is no other sacrifice for sin.
- There is no other High Priest to intercede for us.
Life, light, love, “and the peace of God which passeth all understanding” are to be found only in Him.
Oh, may the Holy Spirit of God press these wondrous truths upon your thirsty souls. Let us together admire, thank God for, and rejoice in the matchless kindness, the munificent grace of
the Redeemer in surrounding us with tokens of His favor and goodness, in ever inviting us to this providential fountain of life and bliss, in seeking us instead of waiting until we sought Him.
Oh, my friends, if you thirst, if these words have stirred up that dormant longing, that yearning of soul which you have been striving to cover by indifference, or even by sinful pursuits, come to Christ and drink. Drink your fill! Keep on drinking !
Oh, I beseech you, do not stay away and perish in the desert of your transgressions. Obey the call, heed the invitation. Go to Christ. Apply to Him by faith. Cast yourselves upon His great mercies. Know that He would never invite you if He were unwilling to receive you. Go now!
Drink now! Why should you go on until the very marrow of your bones is dried out? Why should you be content with the rotgut drinks of the world when the wine of God, the milk of Heaven, the water of life is pressed to your lips?
Stoop down, brother! Stoop down, sister! Stoop down and drink!
Right now, right where you are, see the hand of Jesus pierced for your sins, holding the cup of salvation out to you! - By faith take it from His hand.
- By faith press it to your lips.
- By faith drink, and drink, and drink.
You will know such joy that your heart will overflow with it. You will know such thanksgiving that your soul will be flooded with it. The theory of evolution is almost if not entirely accepted today by all public schools and schools of ‘supposedly’ higher education as a FACT. However, is evolution correct? ‘One needs to be very careful about accepting the conclusions of paleontologists who claim to have found fossil links between man and apelike creatures. In the past, bones from pigs, monkeys, alligators, horses, and even an elephant have been reconstructed into purported missing links between humans and some imaginary apelike creatures. In 1979 a piece of bone discovered in Northern Africa was said to be the clavicle of an apelike creature that was evolving into a man. Its discoverer said the bone indicated the creature had possibly walked upright, like modern humans. It was later shown that the fossil was the rib bone from a Pacific white-sided dolphin!
This repeated misinterpretation of fossils by paleontologists is a result of the assumption that evolution is a fact–therefore some apelike creature must have turned into a man. The possibility of creation is never considered. Therefore, almost any bone that is even slightly outside of the norm is assumed to be proof of this transformation. Since instant fame awaits the discovery of each subsequent find, the objectivity of the researcher is very suspect.

It has been on Sky after dark here in regional Australia concerning ‘…Queensland University student Drew Pavlou. The university suspended him in July to the end of the year so he could not sit his final exams or take up his elected university senate seat.
His crime? He led a peaceful protest against the Chinese government’s undue influence on university policies. He is seeking to appeal in Queensland’s Supreme Court, but this can take a very long time.
You may also have heard of Dr Peter Ridd, formerly a physics professor. James Cook University sacked him after he pointed out serious flaws in Great Barrier Reef research by some of his colleagues. He is currently seeking to appeal his unfair dismissal in the High Court.

Then there is Senator Claire Chandler. She was accused of offending transgender people in a newspaper column last July and a subsequent email. The Tasmanian Anti-Discrimination Commissioner said she was potentially guilty.
Chandler had said, correctly, that biological women are up to 30% more at risk of injury when competing against transwomen. She wanted to keep women’s sports, toilets and change rooms for those born female.

The complaint against her was ultimately dropped when she refused to sign a confidentiality agreement. Others who lack the protection of parliament may not be so lucky.
Free speech in this country is under threat today as never before. The Weekend Australian reported yet another case on 24 October. The University of Tasmania Law Review has rejected a paper by Professor Patrick Parkinson, Dean of Law at the University of Queensland.

He was critical of the Tasmanian transgender laws that caused Senator Chandler such grief.
The Tasmanian University Law Review chose referees who said Professor Parkinson’s paper should be rejected. They claimed he used “offensive” terms such as “biological female” and “opposite sex”, and he failed to consider activist and social sciences research.
One reviewer even wanted the paper rejected because it would not “advance human rights”!
James Allan, another law professor, read the two reviewers’ reports. “Both, in my view, failed to do the job expected of referees,” he said (The Australian, 27/10/20).
“Politics trumped the open expression of views that were presented well above the usual standards required to have a paper accepted by a law review.”
James Allan went on: “The core problem then is that as our universities have become increasingly politicised, and faculties of social science, arts and law ever less ‘viewpoint diverse’ … the whole peer review process has become less and less trustworthy. Put more bluntly, this amounts to yet another inroad into free expression.
“… If Parkinson’s experience were a one-off, we could all shrug and move on. But it is not,” he said.

However, ‘In a refreshingly honest article in the Boston Review, David McDermott Hughes confirms something that we energy evangelists have been saying for some time: Environmentalists do not simply want people to transition to “green energy,” they want humanity put on energy rationing, for the good of the planet. Now, apparently, they’ve also decided that we need to add intermittent fasting to our energy diet because, gosh darnit, electricity in developed countries like the United States is just too darn reliable for our own good! It needs to go out once in a while, or, well, the planet is doomed.
According to Hughes, “For those seriously concerned about climate change, the inverse—the demand for electrical continuity—may be the real problem.” Yes, you read that right, the desire to have electricity available 24/7 is the cause of our global climate catastrophe, and we need to learn to live with intermittent energy like the happy campers of Zimbabwe and Puerto Rico which “provide models for what we might call pause-full electricity.”
And who is first on the new electricity diet? Why, you are, you single-family home-dwelling environmental heretic. Hughes explains that “…each household demanding continuous electricity marginally exacerbates the climate crisis. Perhaps, then, it is critical that we not store energy for these houses. At least, we should not do so in a way that hobbles the transition away from fossil fuels. We ought to consider waiting a few years for storage—enduring much more than six hours of downtime every year—for the sake of transitioning more rapidly away from fossil fuels.”
Surely you can handle a “few years” of intermittent blackouts and brownouts, right, suburbanites?
This energy-rationing agenda has been hidden, heretofore, by a huge raft of bogus promises that would make the switch to renewables easy. Batteries, we were told, will adapt so fast that we can go ahead and just build out wind and solar power, while letting conventional power plants wither and die, and everybody will have their cake and eat it too! Unfortunately, the reality of battery storage limitations is just too obvious to people who see, day in and day out, the reality of batteries: they aren’t getting that much stronger over time. As Mark Mills, of the Manhattan Institute points out (and do read the whole thing!):
About 60 pounds of batteries are needed to store the energy equivalent of one pound of hydrocarbons.
At least 100 pounds of materials are mined, moved and processed for every pound of battery fabricated.
Storing the energy equivalent of one barrel of oil, which weighs 300 pounds, requires 20,000 pounds of Tesla batteries ($200,000 worth).
Carrying the energy equivalent of the aviation fuel used by an aircraft flying to Asia would require $60 million worth of Tesla-type batteries weighing five times more than that aircraft.
And even Hughes now admits that, well, making batteries is environmentally destructive, and environmentalists don’t want you doing that, even if you can. After all, batteries are just not woke:
Lithium-ion batteries are moving into position to overcome that constraint, but they create problems of their own. Like most form of mining, lithium extraction produces toxins—imposed, on this case, on indigenous down-winders in Chile. Also like mining, the lithium trade concentrates power and wealth in the hands of few, corporations. Sometimes called “bottlenecking,” this process converts a resource too plentiful for profit—like sunlight—into a scarce and lucrative commodity. Not even environmental savior Elon Musk is safe from abuse, because, it seems, Tesla “seems on track to gain a controlling share of any smart grid connected to electric vehicles; its Powerwall battery is out-competing less toxic technologies, and it could eventually dovetail with software known as “demand response.”

When the Marxist Left openly protest a politician you know that politician is doing something right. Several weeks ago now ‘One woman has been charged and 11 others have been fined at a Sydney rally organised by Marxist group Socialist Alternative against Mark Latham’s proposed Education Legislation Amendment (Parental Rights) bill.
The protest was called under the banner of “Community Action for Rainbow Rights” (CARR) and aimed to “kill” Latham’s proposed bill that would return issues such as transexuality and homosexuality to the responsibility of parents rather than teachers. The event was prohibited by the NSW Supreme Court on COVID grounds and perhaps as a result had what must have been a disappointingly small turnout. Of the 500 people who said they were attending online barely 150 showed (if that).
As was previously reported by The Unshackled “Community Action for Rainbow Rights” is a re-branding of a previous campaign group known as “Community Action Against Homophobia” (CAAH). CAAH was originally formed in NSW in 1999, firstly to campaign for a lowering of the New South Wales age of consent laws for gay sex and secondly to shut down university campus meetings by a Catholic ministry group. CAAH was founded by members of the Democratic Socialist Party (a precursor to the Socialist Alliance) but over the years has been effectively taken over by their rivals in the “Socialist Alternative” group.
As was reported in the mainstream media the sole public spokesperson for the event was CARR Co-Convenor and Socialist Alternative activist April Holcombe (who was fined $1000 at the event). The Socialist Alternative magazine Red Flag also quoted Socialist Alternative organiser Eleanor Morley as another attendee, noting that she was also arrested and fined $1,000 at the protest. The Red Flag article was written by Josh Lees, another Socialist Alternative activist who alongside Holcombe appeared in court attempting to fight the ultimately successful NSW Police application for a ban on the protest going ahead (a ban the Marxists of course ignored). According to the University of Sydney student Newspaper Honi Soit another organiser was yet another Socialist Alternative activist in the form of Cat Rose (most famous for being charged for screaming obscenities at Fred Nile).
Holcombe was quoted at the rally calling Mark Latham a “filthy bigot”. April should wash out his mouth.
Also in the crowd was libertarian activist Chris De Bruyne who was attempting to film the event. He was quickly met with cries of “fascist scum off the streets” from the assembled Marxists proving yet again that a “fascist” is now almost anyone a Marxist disagrees with.
Greens MP Jenny Leong was also in attendance cheering on the open breach of the law. Considering that she recently invited Marxist activist Paddy Gibson to Parliament after a breaching a similar NSW Supreme court injunction and that she spoke only this week at a protest in favour of another Marxist currently facing charges for breaching COVID restrictions perhaps it wasn’t all that surprising that Jenny showed up at yet another Marxist meet-up. At this rate she’ll be rivalling her parliamentary Greens comrades Jamie Parker or David Shoebridge for extremist connections.
So a Marxist front group with a Marxist spokesperson backed up by a plethora of Marxist activists held an illegal rally against Mark Latham’s Bill proposing that parents rather than teachers should be able to decide what their children learn about sex and sexuality. How did the media cover it?
Exactly how you’d expect.
Rani Hayman of the ABC described April Holcombe as a “rally organiser” and the protesters as being “against an anti-transgender bill introduced to Parliament by One Nation’s Mark Latham”.
Georgina Mitchell of Fairfax described the protest as a “transgender rights rally” and April Holcombe as “protest organiser…a representative of Community Action for Rainbow Rights”.
Fergus Hunter also of Fairfax described April Holcombe as an “organiser” and the rally as being composed of “Transgender rights protesters”.
Anton Nilsson of NewsCorp described April Holcombe as a “LGBTQ activist” and the event as “A march for transgender rights”.
QNews (somewhat unsurprisingly) agreed, describing April Holcombe as a “protest organiser” and the event as “a rally against the Mark Latham anti-trans bill”.
Not one outlet thought to mention that April Holcombe is a member of the largest left wing extremist group in Australia. Socialist Alternative openly calls for the abolition of the police, the courts, parliament, private property, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, borders, capitalism and the idea of Australia itself. Yet not one outlet bothered to mention that they were the group behind the protest against Mark Latham, a democratically elected Member of Parliament. Not one outlet thought to mention that the “transgender rights” these protesters were marching for consist entirely of the right for people like them to have priority in teaching your children about sex and gender rather than you.
