This is an email I received from Family Voice describing what is typical of the Left when ‘SA Liberal MLC Michelle Lensink has upset many South Australians by requiring her controversial abortion bill to be fully debated on Remembrance Day, 11 November.
Australians have long revered Remembrance Day as a solemn time to remember those who have died in battle during wartime. Debating, on this sacred day, a bill to allow the killing of unborn babies up to birth is unbelievably insensitive.
RSL State President Cheryl Cates said that planning to debate proposed abortion laws on Remembrance Day is “absolutely inappropriate”.
The practice of remembering members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty was inaugurated by King George V in 1919. He called for all activity to stop at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, for 2 minutes’ silence to be observed. The silence would remind people throughout the British Empire of the silence that fell on the battlefields of Europe when the hostilities of the First World War ended when armistice with Germany was signed.

In Poland it became Independence Day, when the Polish people again became self-governing after 123 years of occupation by Prussia, Austria and Russia. Speaking in November 1918 of the challenges ahead, Polish Marshal Józef Piłsudski said, “only by making a joint effort can we decide on to what extent we will fortify our freedom, and how strongly we will stand on our own two feet”.

Facebook is bad enough but now if you live in the UK your tweets are being investigated and kept by the police. Don’t believe that. Well, ‘UK barrister Sarah Phillimore wants to make sure that the legal system clears her name after her social media posts have been painted as hate speech.
What’s worse, an anonymous user made sure that the UK police now have her officially recorded for “transphobic and religiously aggravated ‘non-crime hate incident’.” And she only learned about it from this user.
In a campaign she started on CrowdJustice, the leading fundraiser for legal action – Phillimore explains the context of the serious smear against her, that she says is unfounded. While she has been a critic of encouraging children to “transition” to another gender while they are very young, Phillimore says none of her tweets were impolite or hateful in any way.
She does not deny her criticism of the transgender ideology, and while her way of expressing herself often involves humor and satire, she strongly denies any hatred being shown toward any group or religion. But the police secretly had 12 pages of her tweets that they decided to treat as such – even if the overzealous Twitter itself did not see fit to ban or suspend her account for any similar reason.
Phillimore explained that she first heard about her “record for life with the police” in June 2020 from an anonymous Twitter user, only to then confirm that she had been labeled in this way thanks to the “Hate Crimes Operational Guidance” – where “hate” includes think like disliking or being unfriendly towards something/somebody.
Right now, the police are denying Phillimore the right to know who has access to this “record” – and they will not remove it. The Nazi’s at Facebook are not going to be satisfied until all conservatives either get off Facebook or surrender to their demands. As you probably already know ‘In a post-election move, Facebook has started putting “problematic” groups in a form of “probation” where admins are required to manually approve posts by members.
The move is yet another attempt by the social media company to censor what it perceives to be misleading information related to the presidential election.
The probation will apply to groups that supposedly allow too many posts that violate Facebook’s strict rules.
This is a rather impractical requirement, especially for large groups, as the probation period will last for 60 days, meaning that every post will have to be manually approved. Once implemented, probation cannot be appealed.
Groups put on probation will be closely monitored. Depending on how they handle the self-censorship, they will permanently be banned or the “probation” lifted after the lapse of the 60 days.
“We are temporarily requiring admins and moderators of some political and social groups in the U.S. to approve all posts if their group has a number of Community Standards violations from members,” said Facebook spokesperson Leonard Lam.
Admins of a popular group in Aberdeen City, Washington, were surprised with a notification telling them all posts would require their approval until January 4. The group has over 7k members who mostly discuss local events. It also has a policy prohibiting arguing over politics.
“At this point, we are wondering if we might close the group. The extra work and frustration is weighing heavy on us,” said one of the group’s admins.
While the measure makes admins responsible for the content shared on their groups, it is impractical for large groups. Some groups have hundreds of thousands of members with hundreds of posts daily.
This measure is one of the latest actions the social media company has taken in the past few days to curb the spread of accusations of election fraud.
