If Communism had the answer would the Berlin Wall ever had been built? If Communism was the answer would thousands of Russians and East Berliners have sought to escape the tyranny and brutality of Communism? The answer to these questions is NO! Yet, there are those who still hold to and push the LIE! Here in Australia the Communist Party of Australia said ‘The year 2020 will remain in people’s memory forever and become a reference point for future historians. In the same way we revisited what happened during the so-called Spanish flu a century ago, history books will note the disaster created by the Covid-19 and the failures of capitalism.
Yes, you read that correctly, ‘the failures of capitalism’! The present system is not perfect but it is MUCH better to live under the freedom we have now than it would be to be a slave under Communism!
This New Year should be interesting with the continuation of the China virus and China’s rise on the world scene. Therefore the following article may be of interest to you. It is an interview with Catherine Austin Fitts who the publisher of the Solari Report and managing director of Solari Investment Advisory Services. Due to its length not all of the interview is published in this blog.
‘So we’ve had a global reserve currency system, the dollar, and it needs to evolve and change. And it’s long in the tooth. There’s lots of unhappiness with the system and the central bankers are trying to bring a new system. And to do it they’re trying to extend the old and accelerate the new. And it makes it a very chaotic thing since much of the new was being tested and tried and prototyped. And it involves many different industries.
So I describe the new system as the end of currencies. We’re not bringing in a new currency, we’re essentially bringing in a new transaction system that will be all digital and essentially end currencies as we know them. So what they’re trying to do is involves essentially all the money on the planet. So it’s big, it’s complicated, it’s messy, and the challenge they have is how do you market a system that if people understood it nobody would want? And of course, the way you do that is with a health care crisis.
Interviewer: And why is the health care crisis good for that?
Catherine Austin Fitts: Because generally if a few people want to control the many, the question is how can you herd all the sheep into the slaughterhouse without them realizing it and resisting? So the perfect thing is invisible enemies.
We had the war on terrorism, you know, with invisible terrorists. And then now a virus is perfect because it’s invisible. You can’t prove that it doesn’t exist because it’s invisible. So invisible enemies are always the preferred ones particularly if they scare people. If you can use fear and introduce significant fear, then people will need the government to protect them from the invisible enemy.
Then the second tactic which is very effective is divide and conquer. And so in the meantime, if you can use the media, the media plays a very important role. If you can turn men and women against each other, and Black and White against each other. And one of the reasons you import a lot of immigrants into Europe is turn the general population against the immigrants. And then you need the government to be in the middle. So these are all whether it’s divide and tactic, or invisible enemies, these are all ways to institute fear and get people to go along with things.
And of course, the invisible virus allows you to do enormous control mechanisms. You can stop people from gathering, you can stop people from organizing, you can stop people from getting together and talking about what’s going on, et cetera et cetera. And if you digitize it with contract tracing, then you can control who’s talking to whom. If you can get them to do all their work and education online, you can literally listen to everything they’re saying. So you can institute extraordinary amounts of surveillance all in the theory that we’re protecting you from the invisible virus.
It’s very clever. And as you can see it’s working with many people, not everybody but many people, to me a lot. And I don’t want to us underestimate the ability of the leadership to introduce pathogens that will kill people. And I don’t want to suggest that people aren’t getting sick, but essentially what you’re trying to do is you’re trying to get people to buy into a solution before they see where it’s ultimately going to go. Because you’re talking about a transaction system that is no longer a currency, it’s a control system.
It’s like the credit at the company store. If every central bank comes out with a digital central bank currency, they have the ability to turn your money on and off. So if you don’t behave, that’s it. And of course, as we know they want to combine this with transhumanism which means literally I take injections that can institute the equivalent of an operating system in my body. And so I’m hooked up to the financial system literally, physically.
Interviewer: What is the actual effect of the lockdown measures?
Catherine Austin Fitts: So what you’re doing is you’re trying to … I used to call the Patriot Act the concentration in control of cash flow act. And this is a very similar process. You’re trying to dramatically centralize economic and political control.
Let me give you an example. We have 100 small businesses on main street in a community. You declare them non-essential, shut them down. Suddenly Amazon and Walmart and the big box stores can come in and take away all the market share. In the meantime, the people on main street have to keep paying off their credit cards or their mortgage. So they’re in a debt entrapment and they’re desperate to get cash flow to cover basically their debts and their day-to-day expenses. In the meantime, you have the Federal Reserve institute a form of quantitative easing where they’re buying corporate bonds and the and the guys who are taking up the market share can basically finance at zero to one percent, or their bank scan at zero to one percent when everybody in main street is paying 16 to 70 percent of their credit cards without income. So basically now you’ve got them over a barrel and you can take away their market share. And generally, they can’t afford to do what they say because they’re too busy trying to find money to feed their kids.
In the 2016 election cycle, we saw the general population support candidates who represented populism in a variety of different ways. Bernie Sanders was a populist relative to the other candidates. Donald Trump was a populist relative to the other candidates. And literally, what the sort of global capital class realized was they had a problem that could be solved by destroying the independent income of small business and sole practitioners and people who had independent forms of income. If you’re a doctor, if you’re a lawyer, if you’re a CPA, and you have your own practice, you are generally gonna support the populist candidates. And so the way to shut the populist candidates down and just shut off their income and support which is you put main street out of business. And then there’s nobody to finance a Bernie Sanders or Donald Trump. There’s nobody to support him.
Interviewer: So do those the lockdown measures appear to be more of an economic thing than a virus mitigation plan?
Catherine Austin Fitts: So this is an economic war and you’ve basically had sort of the top one percent. Since April we’ve seen global billionaires increase their net worth by 27%. Now what that says is this has been a very successful global economic work because what you’re having is this sort of global capitalist class, and I shouldn’t call it capitalism because it’s not. It’s much more totalitarianism. It’s economic totalitarianism. What you’ve seen is they’ve been able to consolidate fantastic amounts of economic wealth not just by deleting the income of the middle class and consolidating it into their companies, but by significantly improving the wealth and power of the largest G7 developed countries and China vis-a-vis the emerging markets. So the countries with the most advanced technology and the access to AI and software, and to the sort of digital systems including through space, are dramatically consolidating economic power vis-a-vis the weaker nations. So we’re seeing a consolidation of economic power centralization both into the wealthier and the more powerful nations, the basically top one percent who control them.
So I would describe what Covid-19 is, it’s the institution of controls necessary to convert the planet from democratic process to technocracy. What we’re watching is a change in control and an engineering of new control systems. Think of this as a coup d’etat. It’s much more like a coup d’etat than a virus.
For 20 some years in the United States we’ve had a financial coup d’etat. And we knew in at the end of 1995, a decision was made to move much of the assets and money out of the country. That was part of sort of bubbling the global economy of globalization. And they knew that once they’d finished moving all those assets, that they would have to consolidate and change the fundamental system. So after the financial coup, you’ve stolen all the money in the pension funds, you’ve stolen all the money in the government. And now rather than turn and tell people, well, we stole your money, you need an excuse that will allow you to consolidate and change the fundamental system. And so you have a Magic Virus. And the Magic Virus is we have to fundamentally change the system. And thanks to the Magic Virus, there’s no money in Social Security. Thanks to the Magic Virus, there’s no money in the treasury. And you have your perfect magic excuse.’ For the entire article go to https://biblescienceforum.com/2020/12/31/the-globalist-agenda/
Revelation 18:11-13 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: 13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
This occurs in the Tribulation time when we who have trusted the Lord Jesus will have already been taken away to be with the Lord; 1 Thessalonians 4.
Boy, am I glad I am old! This cancel culture thing is beyond belief but is a true REALITY in today’s society. How is it that the supposed Religion of Peace has obtained a place of such authority and prominence not only in Islamic nations but the Western world as well? Here’s another unbelievable story of one who has suffered greatly under the CANCEL CULTURE!
‘We’re all aware of the cancel culture. Its strength is visible on college campuses throughout the country, especially in liberal strongholds. But in a politically conservative state such as Tennessee? Surely it wouldn’t have any foothold in state employment, right?
Wrong.
In February 2019, I joined the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility (“the Board”), the agency in Tennessee handling attorney discipline. I handled my own litigation caseload, and all appeals were assigned to me, including appearances before the Supreme Court of Tennessee. The Supreme Court is the “ultimate arbiter” of attorney discipline in the state, and thus every disciplinary appeal is taken by the Court. I presented six oral arguments to the Court in one and a half years, likely more than any other attorney in the state during that time period. I loved oral argument days, and in my opinion, the judges on Tennessee’s Supreme Court are some of the finest in the country.
Some attorneys facing potential discipline will go to great lengths to excuse their misconduct, including lashing out at Board counsel. Unfortunately, that happened to me. The Board has been dealing with a Nashville-based attorney for several years. His alleged misconduct is really secondary to what happened to me. The Board conducted a trial against him, and the Hearing Panel (comprised of three volunteer attorneys) issued its judgment that the attorney should be suspended for two years. The attorney appealed, and the appeal was assigned to me.
That attorney filed a motion to put a hold on the appeal, claiming that the Board attorney handling the trial was dishonest with him in discussing certain procedural matters. I filed a memorandum opposing the motion, and attended the oral argument by Zoom. That was the full extent of my participation in his appeal.
I have never met this attorney. I have never spoken to him. In fact, he had independent counsel file his motion and make the argument, so I did not even see him then. Nonetheless, the day after his motion to stay was denied, he – through his counsel – filed a motion to disqualify me as an “anti-Muslim bigot.” He claimed that his wife (who I also have never met) is Muslim, and therefore I could not be an objective attorney handling the appeal. Moreover, he claimed that I was not even fit to be employed by the state of Tennessee.
What was his basis for such an outrageous claim? He apparently did a deep dive into my Twitter account and found tweets from 2015 and 2016 – four years before I was even a state employee – in which I apparently supported then-candidate Trump’s position that the country should not continue to allow people in from Islamic terrorist hot spots if we could not verify them. In that vein, I allegedly tweeted several articles discussing this issue, and emphasized that we should be diligent and aware of Islamic terrorism.
In one of the tweets, it appears that I referenced a Muslim being removed from one of Trump’s campaign events. That particular individual claimed that he was mistreated and that it was “scary.” In response, I allegedly indicated that bombs were scary, making the point that people exercising their free speech at a political rally paled in comparison to bombs being set by Islamic terrorists.
I could not find the tweets when I searched for them. I could only go back in my history to 2018. So I could never actually confirm that the tweets from 2015 or 2016 were mine.
The attorney claimed that I also posted numerous tweets ridiculing liberals and Democrat lawyers, and that I was clearly a conservative bigot. In support, he included more recent tweets which were nothing more than political commentary.
But it didn’t matter. As a result of his ridiculous motion, the Board and state HR conducted an investigation and ultimately determined that I could not continue as a Board attorney because I was in a position of “public trust.” Apparently, this means that I should not have expressed a political viewpoint (which millions of Americans share) years before I even became a state employee.
I have never treated anyone unfairly or with a religious bias, whether on the Board or otherwise. In fact, I have worked with Muslim immigrants in Romania, while on trips to visit my wife’s family. Nor do I believe that all Muslims are terrorists. In fact, I believe that the number of Islamic terrorists is incredibly small when compared to the overall number of Muslims.
Nor did my religious or political viewpoint have anything at all to do with this attorney’s case. I have no idea who his wife is, or her religion, beyond what he claims in his motion. Even had I known, it would have had no impact on me handling his appeal, as there was absolutely nothing in the underlying case that touched on religion. The attorney did not claim that I had actually done anything wrong to him or violated his rights in any way. Instead, his claim was that because of my political (conservative) viewpoint, I could not possibly be objective.
In the end, I was given the Hobson’s choice to resign or be terminated. This was not based on any actual conduct while I was a state employee. Nor was it based on any interactions with this attorney or my handling of his case. Instead, it was based on nothing more than his own allegations that I could not be objective. The attorney sent a copy of his motion to the Nashville Tennessean, which reported on the motion without even bothering to give me the opportunity to respond. The bad publicity which resulted was surely a primary reason for the decision. Instead of fighting the motion on its merits, it appears that getting rid of me was the easiest solution.
It’s the first of January, 2021 here in Australia so we will not be a part of the Trump rally in DC on the 6th but our hearts will be! I have NEVER seen such an open case of cheating in my whole life. Most of us have known those in school who cheated but they didn’t do it so openly as this election was done! How would any normal person accept such an outcome that is so blatantly obtained by CHEATING! Here in Australia if all you watched was the mainline media you would never know there was a problem with the election other than President Trump is a POOR LOSER! If this election is allowed to continue and Biden/Harris is installed as President/Vice President honest elections are over!! The following is from The Epoch Times on the 6th January PROTEST in DC.
‘Sixty-year-old Robin, a retail merchandiser in rural Virginia, hasn’t visited the nation’s capital in more than two decades or ever taken part in organizing a political event, although she was quick to volunteer to manage a stop for one of the four vehicle caravans headed to Washington for what many are calling a historic protest on Jan. 6, 2021.
In an unprecedented request, President Donald Trump asked his supporters to travel to Washington for a “big protest” on Jan. 6, when a joint session of Congress will be held, during which lawmakers will vet the Electoral College votes cast three weeks prior.
A number of House Republicans have committed to challenge the slates of electors from six states where the president has disputed the validity of the election’s outcome.
“Be there, will be wild!” the president wrote on Twitter on Dec. 19. A week later, he added, “See you in Washington, DC, on January 6th. Don’t miss it. Information to follow!”
A Michigan man who goes by the nickname Dr. ENoCH on Twitter is organizing the larger caravan effort, which encompasses 20 cities along four routes. He told The Epoch Times that considering the size of the two prior post-election Trump events in Washington—which the president didn’t call for or endorse ahead of time—the Jan. 6 event is on pace to become the biggest Trump rally so far.
“There are two things that Trump’s ever asked us to do. One was to vote for him and now, the other one is to be in D.C. on the 6th,” Enoch said. “That’s why I started organizing this.”
Enoch will join the route running through Michigan. He said the organizers for each stop are responsible for figuring out a convenient exit from the highway, with enough parking and gas station pumps to accommodate a large volume of cars.
At least three pro-Trump groups that are organizing protests in Washington on Jan. 6—MAGA Million, March for Trump, and Stop the Steal—have reached out to support and promote the caravans.
“It might be one of the biggest caravans we’ve ever had here in America,” Enoch said.
The president’s legal election challenges in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico have so far borne no fruit. With each passing day of no progress in the courts, Jan. 6 has become increasingly significant. In more than a dozen interviews with organizers for the various caravan stops, the president’s supporters described the day as a historic last stand for Trump and the movement that he’s inspired.
“The whole event is going to be like our 1776 moment. It’s an important time to make sure that America stays America. It’s a crazy day, but I want to be part of it,” Dean, 55, of Charlotte, North Carolina, told The Epoch Times.
“I think if we don’t save our republic now, I don’t know when we can,” said Amelia, 22, of Fenton, Michigan.
“I’ve never served in the military, but I feel like I’m right now in the military,” said Shawn, 57, of Knoxville, Tennessee. “And I’m going into war. I’m going to battle for my country. I think we all feel that way. We’re going to get boots on the ground.”
“Trump is not only the president of America. I believe he is the leader of the free world,” a Queens, New York, man, who didn’t want his name published and who goes by the nickname Storm on Twitter, told The Epoch Times. “If America falls, then the rest of the free world is going to fall to socialism and communism and the New World Order.”
“America is the last stand for freedom,” Storm said. “That’s what I truly believe, and that’s why I’m going there on Jan. 6. It’s a serious thing for me.”
The Epoch Times isn’t publishing the last names of the individual organizers out of concern for their safety.
Republican electors in seven of the contested states have submitted competing slates of votes to Congress. In each case, only the Democratic slates have been certified by state officials.
At least a dozen House Republicans have committed to challenge slates of electors when Congress vets the votes on Jan. 6. To lodge a challenge, at least one senator would need to add his or her name to a written request. None have so far committed to doing so, but at least six have said they are open to the possibility, including Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.)
For each of the challenged slates of electors, the House and the Senate would retire to their respective chambers for two hours of debate, and vote on which slate of electors should be counted.
Some supporters of the president, including several of the caravan organizers, are also counting on Vice President Mike Pence to take a stand when Congress convenes. As the president of the Senate, Pence is charged with opening the envelopes containing the electoral votes. Some say he could refuse to do so and trigger a gridlock that may have to be resolved by the Supreme Court. Regardless of what may happen, the caravan organizers hope a large presence from Trump supporters will help Pence and Congress make the right choice.
“I think everything lays on Vice President Pence, and I think he will do the right thing and not certify those votes of the swing states in question,” said Eric, 47, of Richmond, Virginia.
“When there’s going to be millions of people descending on our nation’s capital, he will feel that, I believe,” he said. “I think he’s a good, honest man. And I think he’d do what’s right no matter what.”
“If Mike Pence is alone in that fight, that is going to be very hard for Mike,” Garrett, 29, of Oxford, Connecticut, told The Epoch Times. “But if the senators and congressmen and women stand up, and the people outside are standing up, then it’s going to make his decision a whole lot easier.”
“I can only hope and pray that Vice President Pence is going to do right by God and do right by the Constitution,” Shawn said.

The four caravan routes start in Boston; Lansing, Michigan; Nashville, Tennessee; and Gadsden, Alabama. The Michigan and Massachusetts caravans plan to converge in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, before heading to Washington via Maryland. The Tennessee and Alabama caravans are to converge in Richmond, Virginia.
All of the organizers for the stops along the way say they’ve never organized a caravan before. All are handling social media inquiries they receive from those who want to join, while some are also proactively reaching out to people to promote the drive. Garrett said he has a personal goal of 100 cars for his stop in Connecticut. He had 24 confirmed as of Dec. 28. The New Haven GOP reached out to him the day before, offering help, Garrett said.
“All of these caravans are almost the veins. And once we get onto the highways, that’s the arteries. And once we get down into D.C., that’s the heart. If we can get people plugged into the veins and get them linked up into an artery, that is 90 percent of what we’re doing,” Garrett said.
In addition to setting up the stops along the way, the caravan organizers are passing on tips for people once they arrive in Washington. Nicole, 38, of Clinton, South Carolina, is telling people joining her at the stop in Greenville about the no-go zones in the nation’s capital where members of the Antifa extremist group are known to frequent. She’s advising fellow Trump supporters to have a buddy system with others in the caravan when returning to their cars so that no one is left walking alone.
Nicole is also advising everyone to bring food and water since local vendors are likely to be sold out. She’s also informed those coming about DC’s concealed carry laws; the capital doesn’t honor gun licenses from other states.
“We’re trying to advise them not to really bring their gun or anything because of the risk. We’re coming peacefully. We’re not coming to attack. We’re not coming to fight,” she said.
“But at the same time, what we witnessed all over the country has been a lot of violence toward President Trump’s supporters and MAGA, in general,” she added. “We’re being cautious without being stupid.”

Molly, of Holly, New York, is helping people joining her stop to find carpools; she has seven cars committed to her stop so far and is looking for more people to join. Molly told The Epoch Times that she’s making the trip for her father, who is too old to make it to the event. She said her dad came to the United States from Holland with less than $100 in his pocket.
“He taught me to love America. He taught me to work hard,” Molly said.
Several of the organizers are taking time off work or away from their businesses to go to the protest. Others are out of work due to the lockdown or have flexible schedules.
Jake, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, said he is taking his last two days off until June. Jake voted for Sen. Bernie Sanders in 2016 and changed his mind about Trump earlier this summer.
“I just realized there’s this overwhelming hatred for him,” Jake said. “And I never really gave him a chance. And as soon as I did, a lot more things made sense.”
Harmony, 45, who’s organizing the stop in Gettysburg, said she’d be willing to lose her job in order to go.
“If there was ever a day that patriots needed to be in D.C. in person, it’s on January 6,” she said. “This is the culmination of the fight that we’ve been in for the past four years.”
“It’s so important that I would gladly lose my job or my car.”
A couple of the organizers said they were confident about Congress changing the outcome of the election.
“I’m honestly not worried. I think that if we had to take back this country I think that we could and we would,” Amelia said. “I think that there are a lot of Americans with me. I’m willing to do anything to save this constitution and to save our republic.”
Others weren’t sure of the outcome and said they’d part ways with the Republican Party if lawmakers didn’t step up to help Trump.
“If these Republican senators don’t do the right thing, and object, and support this fight for election integrity, I can promise you that millions of Trump supporters, Republicans, whoever, Democrats, independents, are not going to support the GOP anymore,” Shawn said. “I’ll never vote another day in my life if they drop the ball and don’t support this effort.”’https://www.theepochtimes.com/car-caravans-forming-for-historic-protest-in-washington_3636696.html
How far do you trust the EXPERTS and would you be microchipped if they (the experts) said that was necessary for the health benefit of you and others?
‘People need “immunity passports” if they want the economy reopened. At least, that’s the crazy idea The Washington Post decided to push.
The Post published an insane op-ed advocating for this proposal by Vital Strategies Director of Public Health Law Aaron Schwid and Resolve to Save Lives CEO Tom Frieden.
The two authors argued that “as more and more people are vaccinated, it’s time to carefully design a system of ‘immunity passports.’” As the op-ed stated, “These passports would serve as a form of proof of immunity, allowing people who have immunity to engage in some activities others cannot.” A Big Government tracking system that is necessary to shop or travel. I think we all read about that somewhere.
The authors were giddy that “immunity passports” were already being developed:
Immunity passports for covid-19 — although controversial for scientific, practical and ethical reasons — are already being developed. We need minimum standards to get this right.
They spewed that “we need practical and universal standards to verify who has been vaccinated.” The United States, said Schwid and Frieden, “currently uses a paper-based system (upon receiving the vaccine, people receive a coronavirus vaccination record card with basic information on it) with few security features that could serve as a trustworthy, official certificate.” Oh, but “[n]othing prevents these documents from being lost or stolen, and the opportunities for and consequences of fraud are high.” [Emphasis added.]
Not to fear, said Schwid and Frieden. One option is for citizens to just go “digital” to solve these “security” problems: “Technology can solve some of these issues. Recipients can opt for a digital certificate in some jurisdictions, but this creates its own challenges.” The authors said “[t]he personal data collected raise privacy and security concerns, and the potential for misuse of data could dissuade some people from getting vaccinated.” No, really?
It’s a wonder if microchipping people is part of the authors’ “technology” option.
The op-ed concluded on a chilling note that would make George Orwell cringe from his grave:
As vaccination is rolled out and we learn more about immunity after natural infection, providing the option of an immunity passport to those who choose to receive one can increase freedom of movement for passport holders and accelerate broader social and economic recovery. As universal vaccination becomes available, passports will help everyone, not just the lucky few, move from fear to freedom, [emphasis added.]
The climate scammers have been droning on for over thirty or more years now! If a preacher or any religious person had predicted Jesus’ coming again as many times as these prophets of climate change have they would be laughed out of town! Oh, but the climate change scam is SCIENCE and we trust the EXPERTS! When will this nonsense cease? When will politicians wake up and see it for what it is; a SCAM! This is why they want President Trump out! If 2021 sees Biden/Harris in the WH be sure these lies will be told more and more until the younger generation will not know the truth and all weather history will be rewritten to fit their lies!!
That’s right, the founder of Microsoft apparently thinks that the sun is the Blue Screen of Death in the sky and is funding research at Harvard University into dimming the sun to cool the earth. The solar geoengineering project, called Stratospheric Controlled Perturbation Experiment (SCoPEx), will be flying a test balloon above Sweden next year as part of this research. The plan is to eventually release 2 kg of calcium carbonate dust into the atmosphere in a year or two to study how what impact it may have.
You read that correctly. They want to put chalk dust in the atmosphere. Are you old enough to have ever cleaned blackboard erasers for your teacher? That nasty cloud of chalk dust you inhaled during that process is what they want to put into the atmosphere.
When will one be put in jail in America or Australia for saying the China virus originated in China?
‘On Monday, a Chinese court sentenced a lawyer-turned-citizen-journalist who traveled to Wuhan to report on COVID-19. Authorities first detained her in May after her livestream reporting in Wuhan. The government charged her with “picking quarrels and provoking trouble” for her reporting.
A Chinese court sentenced the journalist, 37-year-old Zhang Zhan, to four years in jail, her lawyer Zhang Keke told reporters outside the courtroom.
Zhang reportedly began a hunger strike in June, but she has been force-fed via a nasal tube.
“She said when I visited her (last week): ‘If they give me a heavy sentence then I will refuse food until the very end.’… She thinks she will die in prison,” Ren Quanniu, one of Zhang’s defense lawyers, told Agence France Press (AFP). “It’s an extreme method of protesting against this society and this environment.”
The Climate Scammers are a real work of art. They have taken the China virus and used it to catapult the climate scam not only back in the news BUT on the front page! I trust you (my readers) have not fallen for this false religion! Anyway, ‘With the coronavirus pandemic gripping the planet, industries are shutting down, planes are being grounded and shoppers are staying home. COVID-19 has already reduced China’s greenhouse gas emissions by 25%. Other countries may experience similar trends, leading to lower emissions in 2020 than in previous years. But this doesn’t mean that we should be cheering the climate benefits of the outbreak. Instead, advocates for climate justice recognize that like the climate crisis, the pandemic and its spiraling impacts, will hit women, the poor and most marginalized the hardest. We believe that responses to climate change – and all global emergencies – must have social justice at their core. This means rejecting the idea that the sufferings of vulnerable people and increasing inequality are acceptable trade-offs for reducing emissions.
The global response needed for the pandemic provides lessons for the action needed to tackle climate change. Governments, movements and society must internalize these principles to address these emergencies with solutions that ensure justice for all: Equality: Governments must protect women, the poor and vulnerable from both crises and their impacts, valuing every human life equally regardless of nationality, wealth, gender, race or age. Similarly, it is not acceptable for one generation to continue business-as-usual in the knowledge that they are relatively safe, while increasing the risk and impact for another generation. Social protections: Free, universal healthcare, paid sick leave and unemployment benefits for workers in the formal and informal economies, are urgently needed so that people don’t have to chose between protecting their livelihoods and protecting society during the pandemic. Similarly, social protection measures, such as job guarantees, income support or guarantees of the same wage and benefits, will be key to helping workers in carbon-intensive industries make a just transition away from jobs that harm the climate. Governments must also address the fact that women are disproportionately affected by both crises, as they tend to carry a greater burden of unpaid care and frontline work. Solidarity: No country can ‘go it alone’. Governments must work together and avoid retreating into nationalistic and competitive approaches. As with climate change, wealthy countries must do their ‘fair share’ and scale up financial and technology support for lower-income countries. True solidarity also means embracing and sharing solutions, many of which are being pioneered in the Global South.
The ‘invisible hand of the market’ won’t fix this: Both crises show the need for deep systemic change. These emergencies expose the injustices of neo-liberal economic systems, in which powerful corporations prioritize profits over the common good and do all they can to avoid regulations. Governments’ responses to the pandemic require them to make public policy decisions, including strong regulatory measures, in the interests of their citizens rather than their corporate political donors. Calls for a massive scaling up of public financing, and nationalization of health and other services to deal with the pandemic, must be expanded to energy, water provision and public transport. Build back better: When crises hit, responses must strengthen people’s ability to cope with future emergencies. Just as responses to the pandemic must protect society now and in future, humanitarian responses to climate disasters must also strengthen communities’ longer-term resilience through social protections and climate-resilient interventions. It’s never too late to act: Every day that passes counts. Every action that limits harm is worth it. Even if we’re slower out of the starting blocks than we should have been, we must start now. Giving up is not an option, however bad the situation may appear. Do what it takes – but don’t abuse power: As many governments have been slow to take stringent measures to halt the pandemic, citizens have called for stronger measures to contain the crisis. Society has shown its willingness to accept inconvenience, strong government intervention, social protections and yes, less shopping and flying, if it means protecting millions of vulnerable lives. Governments must take heed of this. Our resolve to do what it takes to solve the climate crisis, in ways that advance social justice, is just as strong. But they must not abuse their power, nor cement measures taken in times of emergency into authoritarian limits on freedom after the crisis has passed.’http://Bringing-climate-justice-thinking-to-the-COVID-19-pandemic.pdf
