What a time in which we live where God the Creator and His Word is literally shoved aside. If only these people who think they know it all would just read “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:3)
‘One of the most amazing of the divine attributes is God’s omniscience. He not only understands all the complexities of relativistic science and higher mathematics, He ordained them in the first place! The same applies to every other discipline of study and activity.
And He knows all about each of us! “O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off” (Psalm 139:1-2).
As far as human knowledge is concerned, it is vital to know that “the fear of the LORD” is the very foundation of “knowledge” and of “wisdom” (Proverbs 1:7; 9:10). All the greatest scientists of the past acknowledged that they were seeking merely to “think God’s thoughts after Him.”
How foolish it is to ignore or to oppose God! There are only four places in the Bible that speak of God laughing (Psalm 2:4; 37:13; 59:8; Proverbs 1:26), and each of them describes His response to such folly.
Instead, we should marvel at all the wonders of His creation and providence. “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33).
People are not excited about buying electric vehicles, so word has it that the Biden administration is gearing up to force us to do it. The trick is to use the so-called Fuel Economy Standards to do it.
The reported target is that at least 40% of car and light truck sales will be electrics by 2030. This is Biden’s favorite target date even though, or perhaps because, he will not be President then.
Technically these are the Corporate Average Fuel Economy or CAFE standards. The way they work is hidden in the name. They do not govern the average fuel use of cars used by corporations, which the name “corporate average” suggests. No, they govern the average fuel economy of cars MADE by corporations.
The way it works will be well hidden. Instead of telling you and me what we can buy, they in…
Let’s be honest. Totally honest. If the media hadn’t been in a frenzy the last 18 months, would those of us who aren’t frontline medical workers have any idea Covid even exited? Not one of our fears of February 2020 have come to pass. No mass burials, no food shortages, no one dying in the streets. Hospitals have been open and able to treat everyone who arrives at their doors, with Covid or without.
Do you know one person who died? Or became seriously ill? Have you even HEARD second- or third-hand of a person who was not over 75 or already seriously ill or morbidly obese who died?
I’m just going to say it: 600,000 deaths has never looked more like zero. If you’d never heard of Covid, maybe you would have been surprised last year to hear that your grandma with Alzheimer’s – no mind left, but healthy – had suddenly died of pneumonia from an outbreak in her nursing home. Maybe that 400-pound guy down the street would have dropped from what you thought was the flu instead of the heart attack you expected.
Covid barely exists for most of us.
Still the media and public health authorities won’t leave us alone. Every day they have something else: Long Covid, the variants, the back-and-forth over masks, and now the vaccines and the vaccine mandates. EVEN IF THE VACCINES WERE HARMLESS TO EVERYONE – and they are demonstrably not harmless – under the circumstances forcing anyone to take them would be wrong.
But they can’t help themselves.
Not about the vaccines, and not about anything else. This morning, the “chief health officer” of an Australian province told her subjects – I mean the free citizens of a democratic country – that they shouldn’t talk to each other because someone in the province had died of Covid. “Now is the time for minimizing your interaction with others,” she said.
What?
The only imaginable response to Dr. Kerry Chant is: Who do you think you are?
Since the beginning, Covid has been both a political godsend to the left and a big business. But I’ve assumed that sooner or later the public health mandarins and their water-carriers in the media would have to admit the truth. Yet they won’t.
I don’t know if they are still truly scared – how can they still truly be scared? – or if they just don’t want to admit the absurdity of the last 18 months or if they are just in love with the power we have given them.
Now they want to force you – and your kids – to take a vaccine. With a new biotechnology that appears less effective and more risky by the day. For a disease that is the flu-plus for most of us, and not even the flu for the young.
More than 230 years ago, France became the first European country to stand against tyranny and for freedom. Now the French are in the streets again, protesting for the right to make medical choices for themselves – a right I’d never imagined was in doubt, not in the West in 2021.
Let’s hope the French government – along with the rest of the countries that still call themselves democratic and free – hears and heeds this anger.
‘I have a bigger Stack planned on the Pfizer trial results.
But Israel has gone back to being more transparent, and the new data are now too bad not to highlight.
A reminder – Israel and the United Kingdom were the two major countries that vaccinated earliest and most aggressively. And they are much better at providing data than the United States – they provide updates every day, which limits their opportunities to manipulate it.
Israel is now segmenting the number of serious cases by vaccinated and unvaccinated and by age on its primary data dashboard, available here:
You can use Google translate and check it for yourself. It’s actually pretty straightforward.
So here’s the chart of new serious cases each day:
As you can see, new serious cases have risen 10-fold since the beginning of July – from roughly five a day to about 40 over the last week. The overall number of patients has soared too – from 30 to more than 200.
But how many of those people are vaccinated?
The vast majority. Israel has broken out the data in various ways at various times, but throughout July most new patients were not vaccinated.
In an effort to play down that reality, Israel has begun to provide data comparing RATES of serious illness in older people who were not vaccinated and those who were. And those show that as of now, unvaccinated people are still becoming seriously ill significantly more frequently than those who aren’t.
But that comparison hides a very big problem.
Israel did an excellent job convincing people over 60 to be vaccinated. Only about 1 person in 15 in that age range didn’t receive at least one dose. Fewer than 1 in 10 is not fully vaccinated.
Why should you care? Because the tiny fraction of older people who are unvaccinated in Israel at this point are almost certainly materially different than the vast majority who are. As far as I know, the Israel government hasn’t broken out the differences. But given the pressure to vaccinate, a significant number of those older unvaccinated people are likely simply too sick to tolerate the vaccine – especially those over 80, where overall vaccination rates are even higher.
But if they are too sick to tolerate the vaccine, they are obviously at much higher risk from Covid than the vaccinate. In other words, ability (and propensity) to be vaccinated is likely a marker for overall health. Researchers know this is true of the influenza vaccine – once they adjust for the fact that older people who get the vaccine are healthier to start than than those who don’t, the advantage the vaccine seems to offer mostly disappears.
So the comparison between vaccinated and unvaccinated isn’t useful.
What is useful is examining the trend among serious illness in older vaccinated people.
And it is terrible. The rate of cases has risen 12-fold IN A MONTH. On July 4th, fewer than 1 older vaccinated person in 100,000 became seriously ill. Today the rate is 10 in 100,000.
Remember – comparing unvaccinated and vaccinated at this point hardly matters. THE DARK GREEN LINE IS THE ONE THAT COUNTS:
And though we cannot be sure what will happen next, it is worth noting that rates of serious illness among the vaccinated are now as high as they were among the unvaccinated only TWO WEEKS AGO. Perhaps that’s why the Israeli government is now predicting a further quadrupling of new serious cases by the end of August:
A quadrupling would represent 800 serious cases, approaching the peak of the winter surge (which was itself probably FUELED by a spike in cases following the first vaccine dose) – and far more than at this time last year.
And remember, Israel CANNOT BLAME THE UNVACCINATED FOR THIS SPIKE – around 85 percent of adults over 30 are fully vaccinated. That’s well above the range experts said would provide herd immunity.
And yet instead of pulling back and at least considering a pause on vaccinations as it digests the disaster of the last month, Israel is going the other way – pushing a third dose on the elderly. Meanwhile the cry to mandate or quasi-mandate vaccinations in the United States is only getting louder.
Luke 1:37“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
‘At first glance, jellyfish may not look like much of a creation. Many are quite beautiful. However, most jellyfish simply look like blobs of jelly, so fragile that what might be a minor blow to one of us could prove fatal to them.
There are around 500 species of jellyfish. They live everywhere in the oceans – from the surface down to great depths. Some are as small as a BB. The largest jellyfish is the lion’s mane, which can grow to seven feet in diameter and have tentacles 200 feet long.
Despite their apparent simplicity, these insubstantial creatures make their living by capturing and eating fish and crustaceans that could easily tear them apart. To accomplish this seemingly impossible task, the jellyfish trails out its long thread-like tentacles. Each tentacle can have millions of capsules loaded with tiny harpoons. Once touched, the tentacles fire, injecting several deadly toxins. If enough toxin is injected, the victim’s heart stops. If not enough of this poison is injected, another toxin finds its way to the brain where it stops respiration. Yet another toxin bursts red blood cells, disrupting the circulatory system. Thankfully, only a few dozen of the hundreds of species of jellyfish can hurt human beings.
According to reports, controversy arose after officials ruled that “fully vaccinated” city employees still need to wear a special “sticker” on their person showing that they got injected, should they “opt out” of wearing a face mask while at the office.
Beginning next week, City Manager Edward Starr is planning to enforce the new rule, which he says is designed to ensure that Montclair is in full compliance with Gov. Gavin Newsom’s edicts concerning a “safe” return to the workplace.
Newsom is demanding that all public employees submit evidence or sign a pledge indicating that they received a Trump Vaccine if they want to stop covering their breathing holes with cloth or Chinese plastic. Montclair is taking things a step further by marking the vaccinated who choose to show their faces at work.
Sky News Australia is banned from uploading content to YouTube for seven days after the Big Tech giant accused the site of violating its medical misinformation policies.
YouTube said the news site posted videos denying the existence of COVID-19 and encouraged viewers to take hydroxychloroquine.
The Sky News Australia YouTube channel has 1.85million followers. YouTube did not specify which videos were in violation of its policies but did say they were “numerous.”
“We have clear and established Covid-19 medical misinformation policies based on local and global health authority guidance, to prevent the spread of Covid-19 misinformation that could cause real-world harm,” a YouTube spokesperson told Guardian Australia.”
“We apply our policies equally for everyone regardless of uploader, and in accordance with these policies and our long-standing strikes system, removed videos from and issued a strike to Sky News Australia’s channel.”
Alex Berenson ‘Sent this to a lawyer who specializes in cases about the First Amendment and government overreach this morning:
Sorry to bother you out of the blue, but we talked years ago when I was a reporter for the NY Times. I don’t know if you have heard of my work since last year raising questions about the usefulness of our anti-Covid measures and in the last few months the vaccine.
Whether or not you agree with my arguments, I would like to think I have the right to make them on supposedly politically neutral social media platforms that are now working openly with the federal government to advance support for state-chosen policies around Covid and vaccinations.
But in the last two weeks Twitter has banned me three times, supposedly for spreading “misinformation.” It is not clear to me how Twitter defines misinformation – the data I provide is both true and accurate, and I provide primary source references for it.
I am currently under a weeklong Twitter ban for accurately reporting the results of Pfizer’s pivotal clinical trial about its Covid vaccine. The legal scholar Jonathan Turley criticized Twitter for the ban over the weekend.
I believe that the next time I do something Twitter does not like, I will be banned from the platform entirely. Worse, because Twitter’s rules are opaque, I have no way of knowing what is or is not likely to lead them to censor or expel me.
Although Twitter is a private company, its censorship of me has increased dramatically in the last month, since the Biden administration demanded that social media companies take action against people discouraging efforts to mandate or quasi-mandate vaccinations.
Before July, I was essentially allowed to write freely. In fact, I have an email from a Twitter executive in March saying that my “name has never come up” in regards to being someone who posted information Twitter considered false or problematic. I can only assume that Twitter is responding to this explicit federal pressure.
(Brandon was the head of communications for Twitter until June, when he left.)
Obviously, I cannot continue to post under these circumstances. I don’t really want to have to sue, as doing so will be a huge distraction from the work I am doing, but I am starting to feel like I don’t have a choice.
I am hoping a federal judge might be brave enough to step in and require Twitter to allow me to post factual and accurate information, or at the least to set clear rules for what content it will and will not censor.
