I am independet and a Baptist for many reasons but the foremost reason is because all the churches in the New Testament were independent churches. However, today there are those who do belong to denominations and they often have a story to be told and this is one of them.

Following a complaint made on Easter Sunday, Charlie met with the Archdeacon of Dorset who told Charlie that he should leave his post and the vicarage by the end of July for supposedly breaking Covid regulations. The allegations made against Charlie include singing the hymn ‘Thine be the Glory’ without a face mask, risking contaminating the church by returning Bibles to the building and conducting a family service online from a beach hut that he rents.
Charlie commented: “I am deeply saddened and hurt that Covid regulations are being used as an excuse by the church hierarchy to bully me and my young family. During the pandemic, due to government guidance, churches and their congregations have become places of division and fear instead of the places of prayer, refuge, worship, outreach and hope they should be.
“We must all take precautions of course, but we also have to ask the question of what Jesus would do in such a crisis? People are desperate, fearful and very cautious. This whole China virus thing is a socialist government’s dream! Here in Australia the states close their borders and lockdown the population over ONE case of China virus infection! Why? Kill the economy and it is easier to take over businesses. Big Brother is at work!

Unreliable statistics, mounting debt, and nonperforming loans are just a few underlying characteristics of China’s economy.
For years, China has tried its best to hide and shadow its unsustainable economic practices from its people and from the world. Research suggests that it has been overstating gross domestic product numbers for the past decade.
More than ever, businesses can only operate in China if the Chinese Communist Party approves, and only to further its goals. It’s important to acknowledge that Beijing does release huge amounts of data. However, when it comes to statistics, there’s a big difference between quality and quantity.

‘A 2019 poll in the UK discovered that 40% of the public describe themselves as very worried or extremely worried about climate change. A similar poll three years earlier put the figure at 19%, so that worry has doubled in three years.
As with all issues having to do with science, the foundational passages to which we must turn are found in Genesis. The first place to look is Genesis 1:28. When God blessed the first human beings, He gave them dominion over all living creatures and gave them authority to “fill the earth and subdue it.” The verse implies first that humans have authority to exploit the earth’s resources, and second, to do so in a manner of good stewards. Add to this basis the fact that God was prepared to cause massive climate change, as a punishment for human sin, by sending the global Flood of Genesis 6 through 9. God would be justified in sending another Flood today – except that He has promised not to do so in Genesis 9:11. Moreover, in Genesis 8:22, He promised that our current pattern of seasons would continue, until the end of the world.
These verses should be a reassurance to Christians. And, if worry remains, remember what Jesus said: “Do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. ‘Victorian Liberal leader Michael O’Brien has gone on 3AW this morning to endorse jail for people who fail to cooperate with contact tracers.
“How do you encourage them to talk?” asked 3AW host, Neil Mitchell.
“Look I’m furious – I’m furious with these blokes [the removalists] because they are putting all of us at risk. The economic and health consequences if we have another bloody lockdown will be just horrific. I’ve been trying to think about what we could do,” replied Victorian State Opposition Leader, Michael O’Brien.
“One idea would be to create a law of serious interference for a public health investigation and yes, you might make that as a jail-able offense. The point is, how do we get information out of people straight away? Because there’s no point saying, ‘well you could go to jail in two years’ time’ we need the information now.”
“The way that courts work is if you commit a contempt of court, the courts have the power to effectively hold you on remand – hold you in jail – until you purge that contempt. For example, if the court requires you to answer a particular question and you say ‘I’m not answering it’ the court can say that ‘that’s contempt of court’ and you’re going to sit there in the cell until you decide to actually give us the answer.”
“It is worth the government looking at creating some sort of offense. […] It’s an idea that’s absolutely worth exploring. These are unprecedented times.”

How soon will the West follow China in this?
‘A social media row has erupted after some Chinese cities issued public notices threatening to restrict millions of citizens who are yet to receive a COVID vaccine from entering public spaces.
A handful of smaller cities in Jiangxi, Shanxi, Zhejiang, Fujian and Hebei provinces announced that if people fail to have their jabs, they are likely to be banned from entering schools, childcare, supermarkets, government buildings, hospitals, hotels, banks, aged care facilities, wet markets and government-owned premises.
These local governments say officials will put a strong emphasis on monitoring non-vaccine recipients, who are required to obtain an exemption letter from a hospital.
The move has divided Chinese social media users.
