The China virus is a weapon straight out of China’s CCP for the destruction of the West. Now, as a born again Christian I look for that Blessed Hope of the Lord Jesus coming in the air 1Thess 4 but until then I and my loved ones live in this wicked world. Sadly, our ‘leaders’ in the West are WOKE and DOPES! They mandate things that have no purpose other than taking more individual freedoms away. One such mandate is the MASK.
Melbourne, Australia is a city owned by the CCP. The Prime Minister of Australia is such a hollow man he will not address this issue at the National Cabinet. All one can say is that Victoria is a vassal state of China.
The Left look at things differently than a conservative. From their perspective anything President Trump said or did was divisive and not worthy of truthful reporting. Oh, the same could be said of the Left’s feeling for Trump supporters as well. Well, anyway, what does the left think of the liberty to enjoy free speech? They ask; ‘What are the limits of free speech? For those of us who report, edit and publish the views of a wide range of people, it is a difficult question, especially in an era of extremism, terrorism and deep political division.
As Denis Muller writes in his thoughtful analysis, it is an issue that has long confronted journalists, but became more pressing in the era of Donald Trump. When news networks cut away from Trump during a speech in the aftermath of the 2020 election, they did so on the grounds he was lying and endangering civil peace. But it was a contested decision.
Many of the decisions around how to report or broadcast such speech will come down to motive, Muller reasons: for example, is it censorship to omit hate speech or incitement to violence? No. Because the reporter doesn’t agree with it? Yes.
Free speech is an indispensable civil right that is under constant assault. But it is not absolute. So, writes Muller, “while the media face some extremely difficult decisions in today’s operating environment, they do not need to burden themselves with the belief that every decision not to publish is the violation of an inviolable right”.’https://theconversation.com/to-publish-or-not-to-publish-the-medias-free-speech-dilemmas-in-a-world-of-division-violence-and-extremism-153451?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Latest%20from%20The%20Conversation%20for%20January%2021%202021%20-%201839217900&utm_content=Latest%20from%20The%20Conversation%20for%20January%2021%202021%20-%201839217900+CID_dc9891b792e7719cd60e47621a6e1cce&utm_source=campaign_monitor&utm_term=To%20publish%20or%20not%20to%20publish%20The%20medias%20free-speech%20dilemmas%20in%20a%20world%20of%20division%20violence%20and%20extremism
Today Parler; tomorrow who will it be?
‘American economist and Assistant to the President, Peter Navarro, called the banning of free speech social media platform Parler “chilling” and a “very serious threat” to democracy on Thursday during an interview on “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business.
Navarro was referring to the shutting down of a social media platform created to offer a bias-free platform that allowed all users to post their thoughts without fear of censorship. Parler was pulled from the Google and Apple app stores in the wake of the tragic events of January when a small contingent of pro-Trump protesters stormed the Capitol Building.
Apple and Google used January 6 as an excuse to pull the platform, which is one of the biggest competitors to Twitter, claiming that protesters used the platform to organize. Since then, the FBI has confirmed that multiple social media platforms – including Twitter – were used to organize and recruit people to take part in the storming of the Capitol Building.
After the app was pulled from the app stores, Amazon then stepped in to revoke access to Amazon Web Services, meaning Parler is now also no longer available through browsers.
“What we saw with this attack on Parler was chilling to me,” Navarro said. “It’s one thing to deplatform everybody for free speech. But this was a pincer move where Google and Apple, the first part of the pincer, was to not allow Parler apps to be down.”
Navarro referred to Amazon’s decision to pull server access as a “brutal kill” to Parler, a “small company.”
“Effectively, Amazon wiped out that company,” he added.
Amazon is one of the biggest providers of servers to applications and big websites that see a lot of traffic. Without access to Amazon Web Services, platforms like Parler or fellow social media alternative Gab must purchase their own servers and hope that they are sufficient to handle the traffic.
As it stands, Parler has still not been able to find a company willing to host their site and it remains offline.
Navarro indicated that there must be a “heck of a lawsuit for damages,” and suggested that Congress must look “very carefully at this collusion because there is serious trust issue.”
But with the Joe Biden administration coming in on January 20, what hope do conservatives have in passing new legislation to stop the bias any time soon? The next opportunity for Republicans will be the 2022 midterms when many predict Republicans may be able to take the House.
Navarro reminded viewers that the Chinese Communist Party and former Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini are still allowed to tweet, but President Donald Trump and many other conservatives are not.
Looks like conservatives are facing a rocky few years without social media access…’https://conservativeunit.com/peter-navarro-says-parler-ban-is-chilling-for-democracy/
‘It is quite ironic that many of those that are always telling us that we need “diversity” in our society are also some of the strongest voices against a “diversity of viewpoints” on social media. The founders of this nation wanted to make sure that nobody would ever take the right to freedom of speech away from us, and that is why it was enshrined in the Bill of Rights. Unfortunately, courts have greatly eroded that right over the last several decades, and now we are facing an all-out assault on freedom of speech that is unlike anything that we have ever seen before. And once freedom of speech is completely gone, all of our other rights will soon follow, because there will no longer be any way to defend them.
When the United States was established, government was really the only major threat to free speech. In early America, corporations were severely limited in size and scope, and that is because our founders were determined not to let them get too big or too powerful.
Our founders knew that enormous concentrations of money and power would be great threats to freedom, and that has definitely turned out to be the case.
In the old days, if you wanted to express yourself you could grab a soapbox and head down to a local street corner. The reason why we use the term “marketplace of ideas” today is because people literally used to gather in marketplaces and town squares and exchange ideas with one another.
In our time, the Internet has become the place where we all gather to exchange ideas, but unfortunately control of all of the most important gathering spaces is in the hands of a very small group of colossal tech corporations.
When Facebook, Twitter and others were first growing, they generally allowed people to say pretty much what they wanted to say, and information flowed pretty freely.
But censorship has escalated dramatically over the past four years, and it reached a crescendo the other day when Twitter announced that it would be permanently suspending President Trump’s account.
How would our founders feel about that?
Tech giants such as Facebook and Twitter now have more money than many entire countries do, and in many ways they also have the same level of power that many national governments possess.
Just think about this – President Trump could never take away your ability to express yourself, but Facebook and Twitter can.
Of course big corporations dominate just about every other aspect of our society as well. These collectivist institutions have become extremely dangerous, and they are really starting to throw their weight around.
Until the power of the big corporations is addressed, we will never have a truly free society again.
Just like leftist governments, big corporations seek to gather as much money and as much power under a single umbrella as possible.
Our founders wanted to empower the individual, and that is why they wanted to limit the size of government and that is why they also wanted to limit the size of corporations.
Sadly, it wasn’t just President Trump that got booted off Twitter in recent days. Hordes of conservative accounts have been wiped out, and this has led many to use the word “purge” to describe what has been happening.
On my Twitter account, I have literally lost more than a thousand followers in just a few days. Others have lost a lot more.
Many conservatives have been fleeing to Parler, but over the past several days the big tech giants teamed up to take that entire platform down…
Parler will likely go offline for “a while” Sunday evening given Amazon Web Services’ decision to suspend the upstart social media platform after Wednesday’s U.S. Capitol riot, executives said Sunday.
“We are clearly being singled out,” Chief Policy Officer Amy Peikoff told “Fox & Friends Weekend” one day after Apple suspended Parler from its App Store even as it surged to the No. 1 spot in the free apps section earlier in the day.
I was absolutely stunned when I heard that had happened.
These people are not playing games.
For the moment, Gab.com is still up, and their traffic has surged more than 750 percent in just the last few days…
Gab.com, the free speech friendly social network, says traffic has increased by more than 750 percent in the past few days, following the blacklisting of President Donald Trump from most mainstream tech platforms.
“Our traffic is up 753% in the past 24 hours. Tens of millions of visits,” said Gab in response to a question about slow loading speeds.
But how long will it be before Gab is taken down as well?
The big tech companies don’t want diversity, they don’t want competition and they don’t want dissent.
What they want is complete and total domination.
Cancel culture is not good for our society. If everyone with viewpoints that are not “politically correct” is eventually “canceled” we will have a society that looks a whole lot like communist China.
And I suppose that is precisely what a lot of people out there truly want.
It is not always easy to listen to viewpoints that you consider to be offensive. Personally, I do not like most of what my fellow citizens are saying in 2021.
But in the United States we are not supposed to silence opposing viewpoints that we do not like. Instead, we are supposed to strive for victory in the marketplace of ideas by showing that our viewpoints are better.
Unfortunately, the big tech companies have decided that millions of Americans should no longer be allowed to participate in the marketplace of ideas because their viewpoints are just too offensive.
Ironically, many of those that are doing the censoring have the most offensive and the most dangerous viewpoints of all.
Needless to say, if we stay on the path that we are currently on there is no future for America.
Without free speech, the system of government that our founders established simply won’t work.
What is the point of even having elections if we can only express one point of view?
In China, no dissent is allowed and one political party runs everything on a permanent basis.
America appears to be heading in the same direction, and there are millions of people in this country that are actually quite thrilled that this is happening.’http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/without-freedom-of-speech-what-is-going-to-happen-to-america/
What a difference a day makes or is it, what a difference a video makes?
‘Up until Tuesday, Michael Beller was an attorney (arguably a very high-level attorney) for the Public Broadcasting System (PBS), an entity that all American people help fund with their taxpayer dollars. Beller, however, hates half the American people — especially the ones who aren’t Democrats and socialists — as he explained at length to a Project Veritas undercover operative. PBS fired Beller, ostensibly because he said bad things. In fact, it fired him because he was gauche enough to say what Democrats really think.
It’s clear watching the latest Project Veritas video (video is below) that Beller wanted to impress an admiring young person. In that context, believing that she shared his values and would give him high marks for the things he said, he had an awful lot to tell her about Trump voters, people who live in red states, and American people in general. None of it was good:
Some of what Beller says is obviously intended as a joke because he’s grimacing in a way that seems to indicate a smile. The following statements, though, are quite obviously from the heart:
“We go for all the Republican voters and Homeland Security will take their children away … we’ll put them into the re-education camps.”
“Americans are so f—— dumb. You know, most people are dumb. It’s good to live in a place [Washington, D.C.] where people are educated and know stuff. Could you imagine if you lived in one of these other towns or cities where everybody’s just stupid?”
“What’s great is that COVID is spiking in all the red states right now. So that’s great … a lot of them [red state voters] are sick and dying.”
Nothing Beller said surprised me. My world was made up of people like Beller: affluent college graduates with white-collar jobs and fealty to the Democrat party, because membership in that party proves they are intelligent and fundamentally good. Beller’s statements concerning Republicans and Trump-supporters are common currency among the more politicized. What’s appalling about Beller isn’t what he says, but that this is what all these middle- and upper-middle-class leftists say.
When James O’Keefe later confronted Beller, Beller ran away:
PBS promptly fired Beller. The email that PBS CEO Paula Kerger sent to the staff is actually funny. It badmouths Project Veritas as a “far-right activist group that is known for producing deceptive videos” — although it provides no evidence proving either point. It doesn’t even attempt to say the Beller video is deceptive. It isn’t. That’s how the PBS class of leftists talks.
Kroger quotes PBS’s official Twitter statement (no links to Twitter), which identifies Beller as a “mid-level staff attorney.” The heavy-handed phrase is a giveaway that he’s probably just as important as Project Veritas said he was. Finally, Kerger insists that “there is no place for hateful rhetoric at PBS, and this individual’s views in no way reflect our values or opinions.” Talk about deceptive editing.
But here’s an almost cheering thought. Beller is singularly lacking in insight. In the midst of the pustulent effluvia that flow from his mouth, as he contemplates children being raised in Republican homes, Beller says this: “They’ll [Trump-supporters] be raising a generation of intolerant, horrible people — horrible kids.” Get a mirror, dude!
Here is an important life truth: the strongest people are those who know who they are. They have the self-awareness to recognize both their strengths and their weaknesses. Democrats and other leftists, because of the rules that allow them to wrap themselves in the cotton wool of “safe spaces,” even as they direct limitless hate speech toward conservatives, have never cultivated self-awareness, insight, and wisdom.
Their deficits, combined with hubris, leave them extremely vulnerable to their own stupidity and arrogance. After all, remember that Beller just got fired for telling the truth — his truth, PBS’s truth, Nancy Pelosi’s, Kamala Harris’s, and Joe Biden’s truth, and the truth of the entire Democrat party.
Correction: System for station in PBS.’https://origin.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/01/pbs_fires_its_chief_counsel_for_saying_what_democrats_really_think.html
One would have to be a monk not to see China on the rise in the West. Now, ‘A deep sense of malaise seems to have settled over America. Our politicians, from Biden at the top to lowly state-level bureaucrats like Georgia’s Secretary of State Raffensberger, are corrupt and sneer at us plebes for pointing to their corruption as evidence that they’re not our betters and that China owns America and its politicians. The media lies to us. The tech companies censor us and stop the free flow of information. Our businesses aren’t what they used to be and our “culture,” if it can even be called that anymore, is an amalgamation of poorly made reruns and vulgar songs.
From where do those troubles stem? Well, on one level, it’s simply that, thanks to Covid, we’ve had to put up with even more government incompetence than usual. Every level of American life, from the business world to dinner inside your own home, has been intruded upon by hypocritical agents of the state. Unsurprisingly, they’ve done a poor job of “helping out” and have instead just made life worse and harder for everyone.
But that’s not the only reason life in America seems to be getting worse. It’s not just that the government is incompetent. That is, like Senator Graham’s recent betrayal of conservatism, disappointing but not unsurprising.
The bitter reason things in America seem to be going downhill so quickly and frightfully is that America isn’t owned by Americans anymore. Instead, America is owned by China, and we’re finally starting to feel the talons of the Chinese dragon sink into us.
Each of the issues mentioned above, from government corruption to media lies, relates to the fact that China owns America. In this article, I’ll explain why that’s the case and why it is making Americans worse off.’ For the entire article go to https://genzconservative.com/china-owns-america/?amp=1
‘TRUMP BANNED ON SOCIAL MEDIA
It’s a chilling moment when the speech of an elected US President is banned, anywhere. This is why we fight. This is why we resist the censorship of self-appointed Leftist elites, in all forums. If it can happen to President Trump, kicked off Twitter and Facebook, then what hope do the powerless have in society? It’s also bizarre, even amusing, to read media elites, none of whom saw Trump coming, on what it means now. These conceited spoilt children of the Left are blind to how their own arrogance and manic need to control other people embeds the Resistance to them. Among outsiders, the urge for free speech grows stronger day-by-day. There is a large and growing backlash in Australia (and other countries) to the way in which self-appointed, always-opinionated Lefties are trying to make everyone just like them, to control our speech, our words, our values, our behaviour. Everyday I get tremendous feedback from people, urging me to continue the fight for commonsense, evidence-based policy and person freedom. It’s the greatest encouragement and commitment of my public life not to let these people down. The great people of the suburbs and regions, away from the inner-city control freaks. I’ll always speak out and fight for what’s right. Mark Latham’https://www.facebook.com/MarkLathamsOutsiders/?ref=page_internal
If cheating will win a Presidential election why will it not allow you to play football? This will make you proud to be an American!
‘The United States Military Academy, commonly known as West Point, cited a number of athletes, including football players, for cheating on a spring 2020 calculus exam.
But university officials suspended its own rules to allow football players to play in games this season, including a bowl game.
The public military university has a rule against violators of its honor code from representing the university.
“We delayed it [the rule] until final adjudication,” Christopher Ophardt, West Point spokesperson, told USA Today. The newspaper reported that some athletes were found in violation of the honor code on November 30, a month before the New Year’s Eve bowl game against Liberty University. The university decided in October to suspend the rule.
A December 30 letter addressed to alumni from Darryl Williams, the superintendent of West Point, explained the scandal. Williams made the decision to allow the football players to take the field, according to USA Today.’https://www.thecollegefix.com/west-point-leadership-allows-football-players-who-cheated-on-exams-to-play-in-bowl-game/
