School used to be a place to learn but not anymore. Now school is a place for political activism and all too often just plain stupidity.

Without further ado, here is a Top 10 list of the most outrageous stories of the 2020-21 school year.
1) Cal State Long Beach’s new mascot: a non-binary shark who uses plural pronouns
This was the year that Cal State Long Beach unveiled its new mascot: “Elbee” the Shark. But not just any shark, mind you. Elbee identifies as “non-binary” and uses the plural pronouns “they/them/theirs.”
2) UMich’s IT department told to stop using word ‘picnic,’ it could ‘harm morale’
Those lists of words people are not allowed to say keep getting longer — and dumber. Case-in-point: a lengthy list put out by the University of Michigan’s Information and Technology Services’ “Words Matter Task Force” advised employees to avoid the word “picnic.” Apparently campus diversity gurus relied on a debunked claim that picnics are, wait for it … racist!
3) UCSB teaching assistant says he would ‘assassinate Jesus’ if he had a time machine
All that needs to be said about this one is: Can you imagine the outrage if a TA talked about taking a time machine back to off the prophet Mohammad?
4) ‘Feminist geography’ professor argues tall buildings are sexist
Leave it to a “feminist geography” professor to accuse a building of “toxic masculinity.” Apparently the city is filled with reminders of “masculine power.” That’s right, the height and shape of a building reflects “patterns of gender-based discrimination.”
5) UW-Madison students demand removal of Lincoln statue
Remember President Abraham Lincoln, the guy who basically led the charge to free the slaves and save the union? Yeah, that guy. A bunch of student activists have been demanding all year to remove a statue of him at UW-Madison.
6) Some critical theory scholars argue 2+2 can sometimes equal 5
You thought Common Core math is bad. And it is. But somehow, academia always finds a way to lower the bar. The latest is the argument (and they’re totally serious) that math is subjective.
7) GWU professor who built her career as a black woman admits she’s actually white
The headline says it all, folks.
8) Profs: Hawaiian shirts represent American colonization, imperialism, racism
Hawaiian shirts are the “embodiments of the history of American colonization” and “the fashion equivalent of a plantation wedding,” according to some scholars. What’s the next target? Watching “Magnum PI” reruns?
9) To fight racism, math teachers urged to accept Tik Tok videos instead of asking students to ‘show their work’
In case you missed it, they’re dumbing down K-12, too. The new anti-racism argument is that asking students to “show their work” is “white supremacy.”
10) Students claim soap dispensers are proof of systemic racism

This woman went where many men feared to go!
These so-called Big Tech companies are Nazi/Commie/Leftist puppets or so it seems. ‘The College Fix shared a video of a Georgia mom asking her school board to end its mask mandate. This professor refused to take mandatory diversity training. His university backed down.
Professor Jeffrey Poelvoorde was threatened with termination last summer by Converse College when he refused to take his employer’s mandatory diversity trainings. Today, some eight months later, the scholar still has not taken the mandatory diversity training. Nor has he been fired. ‘I do think there was a minor victory here,’ he told The College Fix. Med student kicked out of school after questioning microaggressions can sue UVA, court rules
University of Virginia med school student Kieran Ravi Bhattacharya was kicked out after he questioned the validity of microaggression theory during a panel on campus. Well, he sued them for that, and recently a judge ruled his First Amendment cause of action against the university may proceed, noting “Students do not ‘shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.'” READ MORE …‘https://www.thecollegefix.com/
When will the madness of cancel culture cease? The answer is; Not anytime soon!
‘Facebook today wrongly flagged a cartoon from College Fix cartoonist Pat Cross that lampooned recent cancellations of the works of Theodor Geisel, known as Dr. Seuss.
“Independent fact-checkers say this information could mislead people,” says a pop-up message (right) on the Facebook post, first published yesterday morning.
Underneath the post, a message takes the reader to a statement from a Facebook fact-checker that fact checks claims about Dr. Seuss being cancelled by Dr. Seuss Enterprises. It correctly points out that “Cat in the Hat” is not one of the six books that the company will no longer publish.
Fair enough. But that’s not the whole story.
As noted by The College Fix, Loudon County Public Schools in Virginia said some of Seuss’ works have “strong racial undertones” and it will no longer link his name with its annual celebration of reading.
His books have not been removed from school libraries, but “Dr. Seuss and his books are no longer the emphasis of Read Across America Day in Loudoun County Public Schools,” district officials said.
Underscoring that, eBay will no longer allow sellers to list the six books deemed by Dr. Seuss Enterprises as containing racially insensitive imagery, the Washington Examiner reports.
Leading the pack is President Joe Biden, who did not mention Dr. Seuss in his “Read Across America Day” statement on Tuesday. In contrast, both Presidents Trump and Obama did mention the children’s author in previous proclamations while in office. The celebration of reading day coincides with the birthday of Geisel.
In effect, the general effort to memory hole or cancel Dr. Seuss is now underway, and it goes all the way to the White House. It comes just two years after academics began to call his works problematic and racist.
Dear Facebook, let’s not pretend Dr. Seuss is not the target of cancel culture. There is a deep irony that a cartoon on the cancellation of Seuss is now being censored by Big Tech.
That is what The College Fix’s editorial cartoon aimed to convey. The image (i.e. not news story) expressed a sentiment on the headlines of the day by using a clever play on words from one of Dr. Seuss’ most recognizable works, “The Cat in the Hat.”
And while that particular book has yet to find it’s way to the chopping block, the key word is “yet.”
One scholar has argued that the cat character has “minstrel stereotypes. … The Cat’s physical appearance, including the Cat’s oversized top hat, floppy bow tie, white gloves, and frequently open mouth, mirrors actual blackface performers.”
Another, Kansas State University English professor Phillip Nel, wrote: “Was the Cat in the Hat Black? The Hidden Racism in Children’s Literature, and the Need for Diverse Books.”
In other words, today it’s “Mulberry Street” and tomorrow it’s “The Cat in the Hat.”
