Is this really what the Bible teaches Christians to do? New Testament Christianity is summed up in 1Corinthians 15:1 – 4 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures”.
Paul said “For to me to live is Christ” not stripping to one’s underwear in a protest. Being a follower of Christ was to “…walk (live your life) worthy of the vocation (your Christian faith) wherewith ye are called” Ephesians 4:1.
Remember the show Truth or Consequences? Well, Bachmann has spoken the Truth and the next two years will be the Consequences.
My wife and I have often sat down to watch the ½ hour Australian programme “Border Security”. A description of the show is “Go behind the desk of Australia’s Immigration, Customs, and Quarantine departments with this often emotional, always dramatic reality show. See how the professionals guard the borders of the land down under.”
However, the other night at the Sydney airport customs had a Muslim couple arriving back into Australia after their pilgrimage to Mecca. My wife said “They will not do anything to those people”. This Muslim couple had signed the declaration form stating they did not have anything to declare but the opposite was discovered. Border security didn’t badger the Muslim couple as they have so many others but simply smiled and in the end let them go with a warning.
One comment about the show “Border Security” said “I watched the show for the first time last night. Annoyed to see a couple of Caucasian female chefs caught with all sorts of fresh produce being let off with a warning while an Indian(?) mother and son with corn and cotton was fined $220. Meanwhile some Israeli guy was interrogated for most of the show because he only had his passport as ID. This is the last time I’ll be watching the show.” It does seem Customs at the airport is prejudice.
If you want to enter Australia to visit or to live; it seems it is best not do it the legal way (for this avoids all the badgering one could receive at the airport) but come by a rickety old ship. Just yesterday another 110 were “plucked from the ocean after the overloaded refugee boat…was…capsized” north of Christmas Island. The nationality of those on this boat was not known at the time the story was written but it is almost certain they are persons from an Islamic country.
So, what is my point? It seems those who come illegally on rickety boats without ANY identification, bypass the entire badgering one receives at airport security. Whatyareckon?
