At http://www.churchleaders.com/pastors/pastor-articles/156093-rob-bell-s-replacement-speaks-out-on-bell-and-hell.html Rob Bell’s replacement, Shane Hipps, teaching elder at Mars Hill Bible Church responded to those who oppose Bell’s views on hell as enunciated in Bell’s book Love Wins. Hipps said concerning the reality of a hell that he takes “…a position when I know something with certainty. Almost always through direct experience.” Hipps went on to state that “…until I’ve experienced it, this is only something I believe– a possibility.” Hipps walks by sight (experience) so it seems but what does the Scripture saith? Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” John 20:29 “Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” 2Co 5:7 “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)” Is Hipps one of the blind leading the blind? Perhaps you receive Daniel Pipes’ emails but if not you should at least visit his web site regularly. Recently he wrote “A Quinnipiac poll in April showed Chris Christie the most popular potential Republican vice-presidential candidate, thanks to his budget cuts and standing up to government employee unions. But the governor of New Jersey has a problem, specifically an Islam problem, in the way of his possible ascent to higher office. We regret to report that, time and again, he has sided with Islamist forces against those safeguarding American security and civilization.” You may read more details on this at http://www.danielpipes.org/11106/chris-christie-islam . The present administration in Washington is a total mess! Hopefully the USA November elections will offer someone who will put their hand to the task of cleaning it up! Is Christie the man? I was visiting some of the internet sites I have bookmarked and at fbcjaxwatchdog.blogspot.com.au I saw the video of a “preacher” riding a camel into the sanctuary of the church. Yes, you read that correct! After the preacher dismounted the camel he soon began his “sermon” on money. Listening for a few moments to this guy I searched for his church web site and came to http://www.fellowshipchurch.com/wild. Here I found a video with this well known, mega-church “preacher”, his wife and their two dogs. You must see this video to believe it. At the end of the video this “preacher” barks. Yes, that is exactly what he does.
Now what is wrong with a “preacher” barking or perhaps I should ask, how did it get to this? Well, years ago I remember a preacher we had who said he would eat fried chicken on the roof of the church if we had so many on a certain Sunday. Well, we did and he did! That church was a “fundamental” independent Baptist church! I wonder, did the “fundamentalists” of those bygone days open it up for a mega-church’s Dog Day Week-end and the “preacher” barking.
