Not so long ago, the USA went from a net energy importer to exporter. Now, thanks to Joe Biden and his anti-fossil fuel Squad, it’s fast becoming a third-rate energy power.

With the erratic and dithering Biden struggling to get grip on reality in the midst of an energy crisis, Americans are watching their hard-won prosperity slip away. And all the Democrats can apparently offer are more subsidies for hopelessly intermittent wind and solar.

It’s as if they want America to lose.

The popular crowdfunding site GoFundMe has taken down yet another conservative donation campaign.

As donations for the “Freedom Convoy” trucker protest in Ottawa, Ontario, reached $10 million on Feb. 4, GoFundMe pulled the plug on it and took the page down, alleging violence and unlawful activity as an excuse.

To add insult to injury, the company wasn’t originally planning on returning the donated funds from the canceled page unless asked. Instead, GoFundMe claimed it intended to distribute the money to charities the truckers selected. After massive public pushback—especially from a number of states’ attorneys general—the platform relented and said it would automatically return the funds.

Anyone under 30 today has no idea what it was like to live in America during the Cold War, and that includes the reflexive tendency of liberals and leftists to insist repeatedly that we really shouldn’t lecture the authoritarians in the Soviet Union or China for gross abuses of human rights, because the United States isn’t much different.

Topping the list of things that seemed like a good idea at the time sits wind and solar power.

What, with the energy sources that drive them free and natural; with no visible emissions of spent gas or fumes; with their shiny panels harvesting the sun’s rays and delivering electricity for five or six hours a day (rain and cloud cover permitting); with their majestic 50-60m blades lovingly caressing benevolent breezes and thereby ‘powering’ hundreds of thousands of homes (around-the-clock, according to wind industry marketing blurb), why wouldn’t the gullible masses be sucked into the belief that sunshine and breezes will soon deliver all of our energy needs, forevermore?

That was then. This is now.

The increasing reliance on the unreliables has been revealed for what it is: sheer lunacy.

But this is stupidity with a kicker: the blackouts caused by sudden and unpredictable collapses in wind and solar output…

In 1964, the Supreme Court issued a “landmark” decision in New York Times vs. Sullivan, which established the very high bar of requiring the smeared plaintiff to prove there was “actual malice” on the part of the media outlet.

Now The Times is exploiting that standard again in the feisty First Amendment test brought by Sarah Palin. There is no doubt that the liberal media are nervous about this “prestigious” newspaper being forced into court to defend their reckless character assassinations of conservatives.
