The New York Times sounded a little giddy on the front page of its Business section April 21 with the headline “Obama Joins Fight to Curb Online Lies.” This spin strongly suggests Obama never lies. He’s a valiant warrior against lies.
That came after a badly disguised press release at CNN.com on Obama “urgently throwing himself into the fight against disinformation.” As usual, they make it sound like a superhero has landed when he arrives on the scene.
Never mind PolitiFact giving Obama the “Lie of the Year” in 2013 for “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.” Never mind Obama’s bald-faced lies in 2012 that the Benghazi consulate attack wasn’t a terrorist thing, it was a protest of an Islamophobic YouTube video that got out of hand. As if the Islamic radicals brought grenade-launchers to a “protest.”

‘China said it has signed the inter-governmental framework agreement on security cooperation this week with Solomon Islands.
Responding to questions from Xinhua News Agency in their daily Press Conference, China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Wang Wenbin said China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi and Solomon Islands Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Jeremiah Manele signed the framework agreement on behalf of both countries.
Wenbin said the China-Solomon Islands security cooperation is a normal exchange and cooperation between two sovereign and independent countries and an important part of China-Solomon Islands comprehensive cooperation.
He said the security cooperation aims at promoting social stability and long-term tranquillity in Solomon Islands, which conforms to the common interests of Solomon Islands and the Pacific region.
Wenbin said the China-Solomon Islands security cooperation follows the principle of equality and mutual benefit, and is based on respecting the will and actual need of Solomon Islands.
“The two sides will conduct cooperation in such areas as maintenance of social order, protection of the safety of people’s lives and property, humanitarian assistance and natural disaster response, in an effort to help Solomon Islands strengthen capacity building in safeguarding its own security”.
Webin also said that the China-Solomon Islands security cooperation is open, transparent and inclusive, and does not target any third party.
“It proceeds in parallel and complements Solomon Islands’ existing bilateral and multilateral security cooperation mechanisms. China stands ready to work with relevant countries to leverage respective strengths to form international synergy”.
The Solomon Islands government has not made any official announcement yet of the signed agreement.
Australia and New Zealand including the Federated State of Micronesia have raised concerns about the security agreement. The President of the Federated States of Micronesia wrote a letter to Sogavare, urging him to abandon the security agreement with China.
Australia’s Minister for International Development and the Pacific flew in to have an audience with the Solomon Islands Prime Minister despite Sogavare telling parliament that the security agreement does not include a military base.
On Monday the White House issued a statement that U.S government officials from the National Security Council, Department of State, Department of Defense and United States Agency for International Development will visit Solomon Islands, Fiji and Papua New Guinea to further deepen enduring ties with the region and to advance a free, open and resilient Indo-Pacific.
Solomon Islands is reiterating that the arrangements for the framework stems from the country’s National Development Strategy and there should not be any cause for worry.
“All our security arrangements with our partners stemmed from the Solomon Islands National Development Strategy. And that strategy has gone out nationwide. So we are basically starting to implement some of the strategies that we have already made”, PS Foreign Affairs, Collin Beck, recently told the Press.
In parliament on Tuesday, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, Douglas Ete made mention that an official group from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs will arrive in Honiara mid-May.
“I also understand that the PRC Foreign Affairs is arriving in Honiara in the middle of May to sign multilateral agreements and cooperation with the Solomon Islands government. ‘New South Wales leader of One Nation Mark Latham ended up in a shouting match with the Liberal Premier after Dominic Perrottet refused to support Latham’s Bill to ban teachers discussing gender identity in schools and disclosing children questioning their gender to parents.
“How can you possibly keep parents in the dark?” shouted Latham, at Perrottet. “This is one of the worst things I’ve seen in public life.”
Latham, who has been campaigning to protect children from what he calls ‘Woke’ ideology inside schools, has put forward a Bill to ensure that parents maintain control and oversight regarding gender-discussions inside the school environment.
Crucially, this Bill includes ensuring that parents are informed if their child starts talking about gender transition with teachers – rather than teachers having the option to withhold these conversations from parents. It forms part of a larger debate to restore parental supremacy when it comes to raising children.
“Every issue is urgent, in a way,” said the Premier, when put under questioning about when the gender-issue would be addressed, to which Latham replied that this particular issue in schools is a ‘family destroyer’.
The pair then erupted into a confrontation that had to be brought to order, with Perrottet agreeing, somewhat reluctantly, that parents should be informed on a case-by-case basis rather than as a matter of course.
“From a sentiment perspective, I agree that parents should be informed and provided advice in relation to their children at all times,” said Perrottet.
“This is the truth,” replied Latham, “that you and your Woke cabinet won’t support the thing that you talk about. You’re captive to these people.”
This may be a reference to Liberal members such as New South Wales Treasurer Matt Kean, who this week called for Liberal candidate Katherine Deves to be disendorsed for her activism supporting women’s sports and young girls against radical transgender ideology that sees them sidelined in their gender-specific spaces. Kean is part of the ‘moderate’ faction who campaign on climate change and other progressive policies at odds with traditional Blue Ribbon conservatives. It is understood that the factional power within the New South Wales Liberal Party sits with Kean’s faction.
“No one’s ever called me ‘woke’ in my life, you’re more woke than me,” rebutted Perrottet.
In Tweets released by Mark Latham following the exchange, it appears the pair are getting closer to a solution.
‘Perrottet asked me why I was upset. Because I’ve been trying to help mothers distraught at schools keeping them in the dark about their children, watching their family disintegrate as a result. My question was: Why isn’t Perrottet upset about this?’

This explains why fossils of ocean creatures that once lived on the ocean floor can be found on the highest mountain peaks. Today this flood water fills the oceans of the world which cover about 70% of the globe. Many parts of the ocean are extremely deep. The deepest is the Marianas Trench, located in the Pacific Ocean. It is almost seven miles deep; compare this with Mt. Everest at about 5 ½ miles high. If the earth’s surface were completely leveled, as smooth as a ping pong ball, the oceans would cover the entire globe to a depth of about a mile and a half. In the Land Down Under WOKE ‘Independent Warringah MP Zali Steggall has called out a conservative activist group over its latest transgender billboard plastered across its fleet of trucks.
An Advance Australia vehicle was spotted over the weekend with a large caption on it reading, “Women’s sport is not for men”, with a photo of Ms Steggall holding a microphone and a speech bubble saying, “That’s transphobic”.
