‘Kmart has released a new online ad of a bloke appropriating womanhood.
The male-wanna-be-woman has a beard and appears to be mocking women with ‘camp’ style moves – even more so if you watch the ad without the sound on.
Joel Agius on Twitter: “So Kmart Australia have now gone woke. And you know what they say about going woke (original is on @kmartaus reels on Instagram).
Kmart Australia is a favourite for suburban mums looking for cheap, but fashionable, items to spruce up the house or to feel up-to-date each season.
This ad is a fail.
What a massive insult to women!
A bearded bloke jumping around in a dress and make-up shows great contempt for women. Most women do not behave this way. This is appropriation gone very wrong! A costume, make-up, high heels and shonky dance moves doesn’t turn a bloke into a woman.
Kmart’s attempt to be ‘inclusive’ is a joke. It is disrespectful and it is ridiculous.
Imagine sharing a change room with this fella.
What woman would want to look like him, or behave like him?
Do you shop at Kmart? It would be great if you dropped them a line to let them know their demeaning attitude toward women is unacceptable. Also ask them if they can define the term woman.’https://www.binary.org.au/?utm_campaign=2021_11_01_weekly_enews&utm_medium=email&utm_source=binary
