As Covid cases, hospitalizations, and now deaths soar in Israel even though over 90 percent of older adults are fully vaccinated, the country is aggressively pushing a third shot.
Hundreds of thousands of older Israelis have already received it.
And other countries are preparing to follow.
Now the inevitable is happening. The third shot is beginning to fail.
The desperate move for a third shot is the latest and maybe most desperate manifestation of the panic around the vaccine failure that health authorities still will not openly admit is happening.
And it is profoundly anti-science.
These mRNA vaccines are not Pepto-Bismol. They have profound biological effects. They are encapsulated in fat particles whose long-term effects are unknown. They spread throughout the body (despite the early promise they would not). They hijack cellular machinery in exactly the same way an actual virus does.
They are no joke.
And – as rushed and flawed as their development was last year – at least regulators forced Pfizer and Moderna to test them in large clinical trials, with a total of more than 70,000 people.
The trials had two main goals: to make sure they didn’t have massive, immediate side effects (safety) and that they actually worked against the virus (efficacy).
In fact, the trials showed the vaccines did have a nasty short-term side effect profile – and that it worsened after the second dose. And despite their size, the trials failed to catch severe side effects for both the mRNA vaccines (which – at the least – cause heart inflammation in some young people) and the Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca vaccines, which cause a rare but particularly nasty form of blood clotting.
Still, most side effects appeared to fade after a few days. The trials also showed that at peak protection after the second dose, the mRNA vaccines reduced infections by 95 percent.
Thus their almost immediate authorization.
But now we know better.
The real-world data – from Israel, the United States, and everywhere else – are clear. Protection from infection fades within months even against the original coronavirus. It shrinks essentially to zero against the Delta variant (we can argue about time vs. variant effects, but the answer doesn’t matter in this context, either way the vaccines have stopped working).
For now, vaccine advocates are clinging to the hope that even if the vaccines do not protect against infection, they still provide some protection against more serious illness and death. I think the jury is still out on that question, but again it is largely irrelevant for this conversation – the Covid wards are filling in Israel, and most people in them are older and vaccinated. If the vaccines do offer any help after a few months against serious illness, it is far less than the 95-99 percent protection that advocates have claimed.
Thus the move for a third shot. And possibly more shots to come.
But please – please! – understand how radical a move this is.
At this point, these shots are basically being pushed forward on the basis of VERY early data from VERY small trials – a few dozen volunteers, at most – showing that people had significantly more antibodies a month after receiving a third dose.
I don’t doubt these slides are accurate.
THE VACCINES MAKE YOUR CELLS PRODUCE THE SPIKE PROTEIN. YOUR BODY THEN MAKES ANTIBODIES TO THOSE PROTEINS.
That’s what they do, and they’re very good at it. More vaccine makes your body do it more.
But that’s only the beginning of what we should know before encouraging a third dose. Here’s a PARTIAL list of questions we haven’t answered:
Does a third dose of the vaccine ACTUALLY REDUCE INFECTIONS IN THOSE PEOPLE WHO RECEIVE IT?
Does it reduce deaths (remember, even the original, huge Covid trials didn’t answer that question)?
Will the third dose produce a transient spike in infections, as the first dose appears to?
Will the antibodies last longer this time because we have more of them after the second dose, or will they decline more quickly?
Does the vaccine confer ANY long-term protection through T-cell immunity?
Will people who have received a third dose be vulnerable to future variants? Will they be more or less vulnerable than people who have been infected and recovered and are are naturally immune?
Will the side effects – which are generally much worse after the second dose than the first – be still worse after the third?
Will some people die from those side effects?
What is the overall safety profile of the third or more doses in a large population?
Does it differ by age?

I could go on, but I hope this is enough to show you how little we know.
Offering a third dose essentially means offering an entirely new vaccine regimen. If the FDA or other regulators had any guts they would insist on a new, full-size clinical trial (a BETTER trial, one powered to detect reductions in death) before allowing it.
Instead governments are rushing ahead based on what are basically early Phase 2 clinical trials – tiny and providing evidence of efficacy based on lab benchmarks rather than clinical data.
Yet, based on the stock action in Moderna and BioNTech in the last few days, investors are VERY confident these boosters are going to be part of our lives going forward.

‘How old is the Earth? If we rule out scriptural history, we are limited to determining the age of the Earth from appearances. Appearances can be deceptive.
Let’s say I wanted to compare the amount of dissolved aluminum in the oceans with the rate at which it is being delivered to the oceans by rivers. Using this method, I could prove that the Earth is only about 100 years old! You would doubt my results if I told you that. I could respond by checking how much iron is dissolved in the oceans and how long it would have taken the rivers to deliver it. This time I can prove that the Earth is 140 years old.
That’s one of the problems with trying to work out the age of the Earth without a guide. There is no shortage of information and methods. In fact, there is so much information that you can’t tell the sense from the nonsense!
Today, evolutionists say that they know the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old. Back in 1900, they were sure that the Earth was between 400 and 500 million years old. Fifty years before that, they were very sure that the Earth was between 400,000 and 500,000 years old. In the last two centuries, scientists have been positive about ages for the Earth that differ by over 1,000%!
Does this sound confusing? It is. One cannot help reaping confusion when one rejects what the Bible says. ‘We’re living in strange times, and if you believe the Covid-19 vaccination programme is working because the authorities on the television tell you that it is, then you must surely find it extremely strange that the UK is in the middle of a third wave in the middle of summer? Especially when you consider that in summer 2020 Covid-19 deaths flat-lined to zero even though a Covid-19 injection was not available.
But the strangeness doesn’t end there, just take a look at the latest Covid-19 Statistical Report released by Public Health Scotland (PHS) on the 8th September 2021.
The report provides an array on data on testing, quarantining, vaccinations, cases, hospitalisations, and deaths but it doesn’t get very interesting until you read Table 15 which covers the number of Covid-19 positive cases by week and vaccination status.
Interesting because it shows that the majority of confirmed cases are now among the vaccinated population. In the most recent week from 28th August to 3rd September 2021 the report shows that there were 20,744 confirmed cases among the unvaccinated population, who are more likely to be tested for the simple reason they have not been vaccinated.
But it also shows that there were 5,508 confirmed cases among the partly vaccinated population, and 16,810 cases among the fully vaccinated population – two populations who are least likely to be tested due to be being vaccinated.

I’m pretty sure I’ve shared that quote before, but you can only imagine what the early Desert Father, St Anthony, would make of our times after his words above.
Today, we’re meant to be the strange ones:
- We believe that biological sex is real.
- We believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.
- We believe that human life matters.
And perhaps the widest gulf at times: we believe in facts over feelings.
With much of the Western world in a rush to redefine, legislate, and basically will away its foundations, those who don’t “go with the flow” will seem increasingly weird.
We don’t even need to look beyond Australia – or the past week – to see how rapidly things are changing:
- The ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) awards announced an end its decades-old prize categories of “Best Male Artist” and “Best Female Artist”. And why? To create a new category called “Best Artist” so that “non-binary” performers feel comfortable.
- In the midst of restrictions and lockdowns, Queensland’s Government saw fit to push through a shocking bill for euthanasia and assisted suicide – with no exemptions for faith-based hospitals – and all in a mere couple of days. Strangely, I seem to recall governments having a lot to say about saving lives recently(?)
- The Victorian Government has announced it will undermine faith-based schools’ ability to actually uphold their faith. Religious schools will be banned from hiring and firing with regard not only to sexual preference, but also “gender identity”. And this, the Victorian Government says, “will strike the right balance”.
And this is just a snapshot. We certainly live in strange times.
So, how should we react? I thought it might be useful to take another leaf out of St Anthony’s book:
“Whoever hammers a lump of iron, first decides what he is going to make of it, a scythe, a sword, or an axe.
“Even so we ought to make up our minds what kind of virtue we want to forge or we labour in vain.”
It’s no use simply worrying or, conversely, busying ourselves for the sake of it.

Personally, I believe the only reason the Australian government is scrapping the French diesel subs for the nuclear is that there is a Federal election next year. These pollies only care for votes or so it seems. Diesel subs NEVER was a good idea! So, with elections looming the Australian government says we are now going nuclear! These are the same people that have crippled the economy and kept most of its citizens in house arrest for over a year!

Are all human beings descended from one woman? That subject has been a popular ongoing topic in news reports and magazine articles. Research supposedly shows that science has proved that all humans living today are descended from one woman. Could this be the Eve of Genesis?
You need to know, first, that this research was produced by evolutionists to support the idea of evolution. The researchers believe that a genetic material called mitochondrial DNA provides a clock that measures evolution. They studied 147 women from different parts of the world and compared their differences. Adding up those differences and how long evolution supposedly would take to produce them from one woman led them to a figure of about 200,000 years.
The scientific problems with this approach were ignored. Other possible interpretations of the data were ignored. For example, their conclusions stretch a tiny bit of assumed fact to cover 700,000% more ground than the original facts! Obviously this claim is nothing to be too sure about. None of the popular reports on this work told readers that other researchers have shown that mitochondrial DNA offers no evolutionary clock at all!
Finally, as Christians, we know that we are all descended from Eve. However, all people today are also descended from one of Noah’s three daughters-in-law. If this research were accurate, this three-point heritage would also show up. This research is not what it appears to be. As I present the evidence for creation and explain to young people the problems with evolution, a similar pattern has emerged with each presentation. While the information is new to them, it rings true. Soon the questions start and they begin to realize that they have been misled by those teaching evolution. Before long, though I have not been encouraging resentment, many of them begin to feel angry that they have been misled by their teachers.
When I have finished, many of them surround me to ask more questions and make comments. The words of one young man sum up why they are so vitally interested. He told me, “I just wish that my older brother had heard this message a couple of years ago. I talked with him a lot, and I just know that if he knew the Bible had intelligent answers, he would not have left the church and hurt my parents so. In fact, until I heard you, I was ready to follow him.”
Other young people tell similar stories. They grew up learning about the creation and Adam and Eve in Sunday school. As they were exposed to evolution, they desperately wanted the Bible to offer an intelligent alternative to evolution. No one was there to offer it to them. Our silence seemed to confirm what evolution suggests – Christianity is outdated.
