WHO GETS TO DEFINE SIN
“The answer to this question has to do with who your God is. For the true believer, this has to be the Sovereign Creator God. He is the spiritual Father of all who truly believe. If you are not a true believer, your God is man and your father is the devil, the father of lies.
The first problem here is that, in the circle of professing Christians, you are likely to end up with a variety of definitions. That is because, on the right, “externalists” have put things into the Bible text that were not there originally. On the left, the “libertines” simply reject what the Bible does clearly define. The first question is “Who is right?” The answer is that only God is right, and His definitions are in the Bible text. They were placed there by divine inspiration and are true. They are clearly understood only when the reader approaches the text with the one biblical hermeneutic.
THE HAZING OF AMERICA
In our nation, the definition of sin and wrong has been forcibly changed. The most egregious of sin and wickedness is now celebrated by those who control education, government, economy, entertainment, sports and, sadly, the professing church. How did this happen?
In his book, Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania, the author, Erick Larson, records a terrible truth from the past. It is a clear statement of where our own nation is today.Captain Reginald Hall is described and quoted on page 350 of the book. He visited Germany and Austria in 1934. Ever the intelligence man, he reported his observations about the National Socialist movement to the government. He also described his experience to a friend in America. “All the young are in the net,” he wrote; “anyone who tried to keep out of being a Nazi is hazed till they change their mind; a form of mass cruelty which exists only in such a country.” He added, “It will sometime soon be the duty of HUMAN BEINGS to deal with a mad dog. When that time comes, your people will have to take their share.”
By using federal education (falsely called public education), the minds of generations have blindly accepted “liberal, progressive socialism”. It has created a nation of intellectual pagans who support everything they believe with lies. They are expert at turning truth into lies and lies into truth.
To ensure that everyone follows their “lie pact”, anyone who disagrees has been, is, and will be “hazed”. They are made persona non-grata, ridiculed, punished, and dismissed from the public sector. The socialism described by Hall is the very same destructive, liberal, progressive socialism being forced on this nation. If you want an example, all you have to do is turn on the liberal media for one day.
This process of making sin acceptable may begin with redefining words, but it continues with derogatory name calling. If you have any sense of godliness, you are called homophobic, Islamophobic, etc. Political correctness only adds to the hazing. Change your speech, fall in line, be silent about what you believe – or else. This plan ultimately includes legal and physical force until you submit to the wicked ideas of liberal, progressive socialism.
TELL ME IT ISN’T SO
The church in America should be first in line to speak strongly to the definition of sin that God has given us in His Word. The liberal church has long ago turned its back on the clear statements of God. Sadly, this has given momentum to the paganizing of America. With a low view of scripture, this group has become complicit in the removal of God’s moral standards.
Mainline evangelical church leaders have simply hid in the shadow of liberalism. For whatever motive, they hold their silence; and their pronouncements find them guilty of teaching people to sin. It seems that if a person is very good at communicating he gets a pass on what they are communicating. Anyone who challenges one of these popular gurus is subject to “hazing”.
Without any shame, the Emergent, Emerging, and now Millennial churches are on a dead run to leave God’s standard for holiness in the dust. It is no wonder that these churches ignore or offend basic doctrines. The way one lives always rises from what he believes. The more you degrade the Bible and its pure doctrine, the easier it is to throw off moral and righteous constraints. If anyone dares challenge this moral runaway, they are “hazed” with words like “legalist”. It is no wonder that cults have found a place to hide among these movements.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS?
In the end, the biblical church must bear some fault for this. Almost everyone you talk to, it seems, has their head in the sand. They want no part of truth when it brings conflict and rejection. Silence is the watchword when it comes to what is happening in our own world. Remember that “silence is not always golden; sometimes it is just plain yellow”. Leaders tend to hide behind things like “political” and deny that we have responsibility to speak the truth on every subject, even outside the pulpit. It is true that much of the problem is ignorance; leaders often simply don’t know. A careful reading of Acts 20 will help with that problem.
Paul’s words in his two letters to pastor Timothy make all this very clear. He was not afraid to speak the truth, no matter what the consequences. Timothy was instructed not to cut corners, run and hide, or be silent about what God has said. Paul made it clear that people would not listen and would reject the truth, but that did not mean this young pastor should be silent.
It appears that the silence of those who have the truth in this country has cost us deeply. Religious and theological games are very expensive. If we had preached the gospel fearlessly, taught sound doctrine with passion, and clearly defined the holiness of God and His instruction in the Word, things might have been different.
THAT’S NOT A CHURCH
You will have to wait for the February, 2017, Shepherd’s Staff for this, but we don’t expect much from those who aren’t really churches. They really don’t disappoint us, but the real churches are those we look to for truth and sacrificial effort to do battle and define the wickedness of this hour. These pastors will give an account in due time. (Hebrews 13:17)”
“We have been exposed to all kinds of business owners who have arrogantly thrust their own radical views upon others. Therefore, it is time for normal people to close their wallets and not use their plastic thereby putting the offenders out of business. If we don’t put them out of business, we can reduce their profits thereby sending a clear message: if you go public with anti-family, pro-perversion, or anti-American positions then it will cost you dearly.
When a business owner takes a public position that is anti-family, anti-American, or anti-biblical, then he or she deserves to be a very lonely person because so many potential customers refuse to purchase his goods or services. Sure, business people have a right to be stupid but they also have a right to go bankrupt. I’ll help them.
That is what should happen to National Geographic Magazine that has insulted every pro-family person in America. In January, they have a nine-year-old boy’s photo on the cover; however, he thinks he is a she! The magazine is known for its amazing photos and articles of exotic and often unknown animals but now they are promoting the deceitful, dangerous, and destructive falsehood of transgenderism! They have disregarded the scientific evidence that people who think they have another person inside them are deluded, deceived, and demented people. As many as 40% of “trangenders” have tried to kill themselves! They don’t need to have surgery; they need spiritual, emotional, and mental help.
So, now National Geographic, by supporting transgenderism, is anti-science and encouraging child abuse with junk science! Who would have thunk it?
National Geographic needs to go out of business and I will help them do so. I have cancelled my subscription and will no longer purchase their upscale clothing line. I will no longer support child abuse and pernicious pro-perversion propaganda.
Normal people need to decide that we are in a battle and will take measures to win by refusing to do business with any business that supports any issue that is perverse or promotes abortion and other anti-family issues. We should not wait for some group to start the boycott ball rolling and when enough of us immediately refuse to patronize such businesses and we inform them and others why we are no longer customers, then even the dullest and most ardent leftist will get the message. Most of them must understand that there is a connection between their anti-family positions and an empty cash register.
It seems large businesses can be very successful then do some very dumb things. Look at Target as an example. They are tottering on the brink of failure. So are J.C. Penney and Sears.
The LGBTQ lobby lists those businesses that do not support their cause and Exxon was number one on the unfriendly gay list followed by Dollar General, Family Dollar; Dick’s Sporting Goods and others. The MOST friendly businesses to perversion are Procter & Gamble; JPMorgan Chase & Co; IBM; Citigroup; Bank of America; AT&T; Ford; General Motors; Starbucks; Google; Men’s Warehouse; General Mills; American Express; Marriott; Disney, and others. Do your own research and stay up-to-date.
Some of my crowd, even preachers, will suggest that they are too busy to get involved in a boycott. Say what? Those same pastors give the impression that they work day and night preaching the Gospel, visiting the sick, feeding the hungry, knocking on doors, etc. Of course, everyone knows they spend time on the golf course, bowling alleys, hunting, fishing, and watching some of the new vile television shows. So, I think all religious leaders and decent laymen can spare a couple hours every couple months to take a public position on decency as supported by the Bible they profess to believe. Preachers who are critical of boycotts are willing to preach from the pulpit but not practice in the public and on social media what they say they believe.
Others will tell us that they can’t be involved in boycott because it is not right to demand a business owner serve them as did the Civil Rights demonstrators. But that’s the point: we don’t want them to serve us. We want to serve them! We want to convince them that it is a stupid business decision to antagonize 98% of their customer base. We want to help them, not hurt or harass them. An aggressive and successful boycott is “tough love.”
It is declared that we cannot know the position of every business firm so it is impossible to be consistent. That is true but it is a senseless argument. If I am uninformed about a firm’s position on homosexuality, abortion, etc., then it must not be a big problem and a boycott is unnecessary; however when we know a firm is actively anti-family then we must react.
We who are committed to using money as a weapon will do our best to encourage pro-family
firms by telling our friends about them and spending our money at their businesses. At the same time, we will boycott anti-family (usually pro-homosexual) firms and tell our friends about it. That is the Christian thing to do.
We are determined to remind all who will listen that we are the people who love homosexuals and transgenders enough to tell them the truth about perversion. We are in the ministry of nudging, not pushing, other decent people to get involved.
Furthermore, no lucid individual says it is wrong for a person to be selective in the spending of his own money. If he does not like the business owner, does not like the service, or the excessive charges, etc., he can choose to spend his money elsewhere. So, why is that perfectly legitimate if done by one person but wrong if multiple people do the same thing?
So, no Coke and Girl Scout cookies, and I hope you will do the same. Anyway, that kind of stuff might send you to Heaven quicker than your scheduled departure. I will survive not reading National Geographic; besides, they still haven’t received the message that evolution is false, a failure, and a fraud, another reason they should shut down their presses and quietly disappear.

promote their claimed sexuality, DNA tests on any cell in their body will reveal that they never were a male who could be a female, or vice versa. Gender is definitely biological. It is not a cultural construct imposed on people. It is built into our bodies at conception, and nothing that happens afterward by accident or deliberate interference will change it.
It will help in answering this question to go back to the creation of human gender, where we are told: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27) and then in verse 31 the Creator declares this state to be “very good.” This specific statement about male and female at creation indicates gender matters to God. Furthermore, in Genesis 2 we are told how God made them male and female – by two related acts of creation. Adam, the first man, was made from raw materials (“dust of the ground”); Eve, the first woman, was made from tissue taken from Adam which is why the Bible also regards male and female as “one flesh.” So from the start, gender was built into our biology, and God liked it that way.
For all succeeding generations down to you and I, gender has been determined by two chromosomes (collections of genes) named X and Y. Males have one X and one Y chromosome. Females have two X chromosomes.
The way gender is inherited is as follows:
When reproductive cells, i.e. male sperm and female ova (egg cells), are formed in the father and mother, the pairs of chromosomes in a normal cell are split up. This means each male sperm will have either one X or one Y, and each ovum will have one X.
The gender of any offspring is determined at conception, when a sperm cell from the father unites with an ovum from the mother. If the sperm carries an X chromosome, this will combine with the mother’s X, and the resulting offspring will be female. If the sperm carries a Y chromosome the resulting offspring will have the XY combination, and be male. This means the new human life being formed is male or female right from the very beginning of life, and will remain so for the rest of his or her life, as all the cells in the body are derived from this first cell.
Maleness and femaleness are embedded in every cell in every tissue of the body, not just the reproductive organs. Therefore, there is no such thing as a sex change. Interfering with the body organs by surgery, drugs or hormone treatment will not change the chromosomes. It will only deform the body and usually renders it incapable of reproduction. Therefore, any attempts to defy what God created will not work, and even more seriously will provably displease the God who made human beings distinctly male or female.
Why say that? We know the Creator God has revealed Himself as One who disapproves of any attempts to blur the sexes, or pretend them to be the opposite. This is seen in the Law of Moses given to a society which could not even pretend to give people a sex change except in their attire. Therefore, we read the following God given instruction: “A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this.” Deuteronomy 22:5
This does not mean men and women can never wear the same kinds of clothes, e.g. jeans and t-shirts, where it is appropriate. In Old Testament days the outermost garment was a cloak that was similar for both sexes, but the similar garments were constructed so people were clearly identifiable as male or female. So this rule does mean your outward appearance should be either male or female, according to your body gender, and other people should be able to see what you are. Furthermore, it means no-one should deceive others by dressing in the opposite way in order to claim they can go to the opposite sex toilet because they think they are a different sex, or demand the right to intrude into facilities provided for the privacy of the other sex, e.g. bathrooms, changing rooms, etc.
Our society is currently being bombarded by claims about sexuality made by two loud lobby groups. One group, the homosexuals, are claiming their behaviour is caused by genes and cannot be changed, even though no such genes ever have been found. The other group, the transsexuals, are claiming they can be whatever sex they choose, in spite of the fact that gender is clearly determined by genes. It is interesting that the atheistic secular media is prepared to promote both lobby groups despite the glaring contradiction.
What about people struggling with “gender confusion”?
There are two issues here – one of people with improperly formed reproductive organs, and one of people who have normal male or female bodies but believe they should be the other sex.
Occasionally babies are born with improperly formed reproductive organs which happens as a result of something going wrong during embryonic development, just as can happen with other body structures, e.g. cleft palate, club foot, hole in the heart, etc. People with improperly formed reproductive organs may need surgical and/or hormone treatments, and these may not succeed in making them fully fertile males or females when they grow into adult life. However, the aim should be to help them be as close to their genetic potential as is medically possible. In general, these people are not the ones claiming to be transgender.
Those people who have normal body organs but believe they should be the other gender should be helped to be what their body, and therefore their genetics, indicates they are. Genetic tests for gender are widely available, and can be easily done. The overall principle should be to help people in a gracious, supportive way to be what their genetics indicate they are, and therefore, what their Creator wants them to be.
Our society has become a case of “Everyone does what is right in their own eyes” as was also recorded in the book of Judges 21:25. However, as in the times of the Judges, the result is chaos and confusion. Being deceived into believing you can be whatever you choose in defiance of God’s instructions has been a source of sin and judgement many times in the history of man. What will it take for America to wake up? For a President to urge this type of thinking is beyond belief. These deluded people will only become more delusional and this President is partly to blame! If commonsense, a sense of morality and a sense of God’s judgement doesn’t begin to infiltrate the fabric of American society and the churches there is no hope. A good place for the churches to begin is 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Doesn’t a person have the right or the freedom to be what they believe themselves to be sexually? Well….to some extent. Allow me to try to explain. In the everyday affairs of life it is none of my business how someone votes, spends their income, what takes place in their bedroom, etc., etc. However, we are not talking about just anyone but someone who claims to be a spokesperson for God and a minister of a United Methodist congregation in Kansas.

Now if Cynthia Meyer was just a person on the street and not a supposed Reverend and (I am assuming) a member of a United Methodist church her coming out would not have prompted me to write this article. So why am I writing this? Well, here we need to turn to the Bible.
Again I am assuming that the United Methodist denomination and its ministers believe the Bible. In 1 Corinthians Paul is writing to a local church. This church was composed of all sorts of people who had lived numerous types of lifestyles. In the sixth chapter and verses 9 -11 Paul writes “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind (these are sodomites, homosexuals, lesbians), 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
Since the discussion is homosexuality (sodomy) we will limit ourselves to that sin which does not according to this passage allow the person to “inherit the kingdom of God”! In other words they will not enter Heaven. However, Paul says four things have occurred to these people which makes them worthy to enter Heaven when they die.
Firstly, take note that Paul uses the past tense saying “such WERE some of you”. Some of these Christians HAD BEEN sodomites but because of their new relationship with Jesus Christ their old life was passed away and all things had become new, 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Secondly, they had been “washed..from our (their) sins in his own blood”. This blood of the Lord Jesus is called “precious blood” by Peter in 1 Peter 1:19. As John said He “loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood”. Then Paul wrote to another local church saying “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ”Eph 2:13.
Thirdly this person is said to be “sanctified”. Strong’s Greek concordance says this word “agiazw hagiazo, hag-ee-ad’-zo” means “to make holy, i.e. (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to venerate:–hallow, be holy, sanctify.” One of the characteristics of a sanctified person is holiness. The Lord calls Christians to holiness, purity in 1 Peter 1:15 & 16 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” Now, daily or what is often called progressive sanctification comes via the reading and study of God’s Word; John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth”. Surely sodomy does not fit with sanctification?
The fourth work of God in this person mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6: 11 is he or she has been “justified”. Now, because of Christ we have been made as though we had never committed those sins for “such WERE some of you”. Now when God the Father sees the Christian He sees them in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you have taken the time to read this far and still hold the view that homosexuals and lesbians can continue in that lifestyle and still be considered a true Christian Paul had you in mind when he wrote in the ninth verse “Be not deceived”! People who say they love you and water down the Word to fit your lifestyle are simply deceiving you and when the enemy, death comes (as it does to all of us) you will enter eternity without the Saviour, without hope and never to “inherit the kingdom of God”. You have been deceived!
Be assured one cannot continue to live a life as “abusers of themselves with mankind” and when death comes enter Heaven as one of God’s children! It is self-deception to reinterpret God’s Word to fulfill the lust of the flesh! When a man/woman reinterprets the Bible to fit their sin they are only cheating themselves of eternal life. This is not a minor matter for the eternal soul of a person is at stake. We cannot sow to the flesh and yet reap everlasting life!
Worse yet some of these deceivers are deceiving others by claiming to be a follower of Christ, even ministers, when in reality they are nothing but “full of all subtilty and all mischief” and are a “child of the devil” and an “enemy of all righteousness” and not ceasing “to pervert the right ways of the Lord” Acts 13:10.
Coming out will not spiritually change anything for the homosexual. Coming out will only entrench a person in their sin. BUT, there is HOPE. No matter what sins a man or woman commit there is no barrier to keep them from being born again and reconciled to God. The precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ will purge away all guilt and defilement for “…when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high”.
However, holding on to the sins mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6 is to make a mockery of sin and the grace of God. There MUST be “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Yes, it is as simple as what the preachers said to the jailer in Philippi “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
In closing please remember that all those who are made righteous in the sight of God are made holy by the grace of God.
I have always loved living in a rural location where the traffic is bearable, people are usually more friendly and the pace of life is much slower than in a big city such as Sydney. Nevertheless, the big city’s tentacles reach even to the rural location in which I live via the homosexual agenda.
Never, NEVER in all my 70 years on this earth have I asked someone if they were heterosexual or homosexual. I never thought it was something a normal, cultured person would ask another person. Well, that doesn’t fit the homosexual agenda. Those of that ilk believe they MUST inform everyone what their sexual preferences are or are not and that everyone they tell must either accept their preferences or just say nothing! In other words be quiet if you do not agree for if you don’t agree you are hateful, bigoted, and homophobic. This is said even though the homosexual lifestyle HAS NEVER been THE NORM in Western culture and for good reason! In fact the homosexual act was once called sodomy and punishable by law but regrettably the act of sodomy was decriminalized in New South Wales, Australia in 1984. Since then there has been much pressure put onto the public to accept it as NORMAL. Well, as you can probably tell by now I do not accept this lifestyle as NORMAL!
Even though I disagree with the homosexual lifestyle the town in which I reside had an “…explosion of colour travelling down Macquarie Street to Ollie Robbins Oval alongside banners such as “love has no gender and maybe I don’t either”. The spokesperson for this sexually diverse perverted group said that in spite of the rain “…people came out of their shops and there were people who stopped on the street. It was just a really positive response to the whole day.”
This “…pride march is believed to be the first held in western NSW, and Mr Steepe said the plan was for it to be held every year.” This was a PRIDE MARCH or one might say it was a march in which the people marching were full of PRIDE! It is interesting that Proverbs 8:13 says “The fear of the LORD is to hate…pride…” Then in Proverbs 16:18 we read that “Pride goeth before destruction…” Then in James 4:6 we are told that “…God resisteth the proud…”
Now we come to the part that prompted the title to this paper. The spokesperson for this group of prideful perverted people said “I’ve spoken to the community and they’re so excited for it to be an annual thing.” Did this spokesperson exaggerate when he said he spoke “to the community” and found that they were “so excited it to be an annual thing”? Dubbo is a fairly large community so that would have taken some time to do. Whatever he meant when he said he “spoke to the community” he didn’t speak to me! He didn’t speak to my wife! He didn’t speak to my son! He didn’t speak to my daughter-in-law!
If he had spoken to me he would have heard the truth. I was not excited about this parade and I am not afraid of homosexuals so therefore I am not homophobic. However, I do not agree with their lifestyle. That lifestyle is immoral, repulsive and unsanitary. That lifestyle has brought HIV/Aids into our society affecting not only homosexuals but heterosexuals through blood transfusions.
The homosexual lifestyle is condemned in the Bible along with all those who are “unrighteous” “fornicators” “idolaters” “adulterers” “thieves” “covetous” “drunkards” “revilers” or “extortioners” 1 Corinthians 6:9,10. In closing there were several statements in the article that caught my attention but one that really struck a chord with me is “There was only one negative comment about the event- it was on the same day as Derby Day.” Is that NOT sad and sickening? What makes you angry? For example, does the knowledge of a missionary doctor abusing a twelve year old missionary kid for two years stir just a little righteous anger within? Does the fact that the mission agency that this doctor worked under hid his pedophilia for years stir just a little ? Does the fact that this missionary doctor’s sending church was NEVER told the doctor had to leave the field for pedophilia stir just a little bit of anger within? Does the fact that this doctor was allowed to return to the states and pick up his medical practice as though nothing happened cause just a little anger to foam within your breast?

Well if it does then you need to do a search of the internet and read about how the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) mishandled this adulterer, pedophile missionary doctor. In the search you will discover that Dr. Donn Ketcham was a friend of both ABWE’s Far East administrator, Russ Ebersole, which included Bangladesh and the now deceased president of ABWE, Wendell Kempton. One wonders why these two men sought to protect this pedophile! For example Russ Ebersole, the Far East administrator, wrote Ketcham’s churches in a letter dated September 18, 1989 “In consideration for Mrs. Ketcham, and at your discretion, we suggest that support be continued through November to allow this couple to become settled, find employment and begin counseling. Our medical team at the Memorial Christian Hospital, as you can imagine, has suffered a great blow in the loss of Dr. Ketcham. We are working presently with a ‘skeleton crew’ and many medical services have been curtailed. We are trying our best to locate short term doctors who can fill in some of the gaps.”
MORE CONCERN FOR THE ABUSER THAN THE ABUSED!
NOTE, EBERSOLE WRITES IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PEDOPHILE’S FAMILY BUT where is the concern for a fourteen year old girl molested by this man!? Where is the concern for the family of this girl? Ebersole tells the churches that this pedophile needs to get settled back into life in the states and find employment. WAIT, this doctor has been a pedophile and this mission agency is allowing him to go back into society and practice medicine! The callousness of this man and ABWE is beyond comprehension. There is no concern for the girl, her family or those with whom this medical doctor pedophile will be now practicing medicine on!
Support is asked to continue for the pedophile’s family BUT what about the poor family whose daughter had suffered under this predator for two years!? THE SHAME OF ALL THIS IS THAT ALMOST NARY A CHURCH HAS RESPONDED TO THIS PEDOPHILE COVER-UP!
In your search you will read that the abuse of this adulterer pedophile was made known to ABWE’s president Michael Loftis in early 2002 by some former MK’s abused by Ketcham. NOW, hearing this, one would think action would have been taken immediately! Well, think again! Nothing was done until 2011! It wasn’t until May 2011 that ABWE hired G.R.A.C.E to investigate the Donn Ketcham pedophile case. However, G.R.A.C.E was only hired due to the persistence of these former MK girls! ABWE would not have done anything if these girls had not begun their blog.

Then in June of that same year, 2011, Michael Loftis resigns from ABWE. Note I said “resign”. However, later ABWE says they terminated Loftis. Whether he resigned or was terminated it wasn’t any too soon for his incompetence but what about the others who were guilty in this cover-up for over twenty years? They do not resign or get terminated until later.
SELF PRESERVATION MODE AGAIN
NOW CONSIDER THIS, in early 2013, less than ONE month before G.R.A.C.E. was to turn their report over to ABWE THEIR investigation into the Donn Ketcham’s pedophilia, ABWE replaces G.R.A.C.E. with another agency. WHY DID ABWE DO THIS? DID ABWE STOP AND THINK WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE? Is it self-preservation? I personally believe it is. The missionary girls abused by this man believe so as well. “At this date, Feb. 13, 2013, ABWE refuses to guarantee us the original terms of the GRACE investigation. A devastating blow to any chance of justice for the abused MKs who–as a result–are no longer guaranteed:
Public access to the final report
Equal footing on a committee to determine final outcomes of the report
And any sense that ABWE’s claims of wanting to experience ‘truth and reconciliation’ are genuine.”
This whole sordid affair smacks of a GOOD OLE BOY’S CLUB. This time it is not just a cover-up of those involved but for ABWE’s own preservation. Oh, ABWE does CARE for children for “As part of ABWE’s on-going commitment to training all of our staff in the best practices in child safety, the mission held an intensive training for missionaries from around the world.” Just think of the money that is spent on something that SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM!!!! Mission agencies are like the government, they exist because others contribute their substance to keep them going. What is this mission agency, ABWE, all about?!
NO CREDIBILITY
From 1989 to 2012 ABWE allowed Russ Ebersole to continue as an administrator over other missionaries. These administrator postions are another whole story in themselves. Here is a man who was an accomplice in all this pedophile cover-up and it was not until “October 12, 2012 – ABWE announces that they have let Don Davis and Russ Ebersole go. Admits for the first time that Michael Loftis resignation was impacted by ABWE abuse scandal, citing “leadership failure” for the first time publicly–and incidentally directly contrary to statements regarding Loftis by Church Relations VP Tony Beckett (who had nothing but ‘love and appreciation’ for Loftis) and former Chairman of the Board Ron Berrus (who stated Loftis had ‘unquestioned moral and financial integrity, giftedness, and a great passion for the cause of Christ worldwide’) in 2011.” Before all this broke Loftis was the best thing since sliced bread but when the rock is removed and light hits the mud it is another story. What makes men do and say the things they do and this is a supposedly Christian organization!
LET US BACK UP FOR A LITTLE HISTORY
Let me back up to March 30, 2011 when ABWE stated “Concerns regarding Donn Ketcham’s repeated inappropriate behavior with the opposite sex on the field could have resulted in his termination as early as 1975, but continued indiscretions should have resulted in dismissal no later than 1985. Regrettably, we did not terminate him as a missionary but rather gave repeated opportunities for counseling and remediation which allowed him time and opportunity to sin against you. Please, please forgive us.”

STOP AND LOOK AT THOSE YEARS AGAIN, 1975 and 1985! TEN YEARS! WHY? If this man had been dealt with earlier by ABWE he would not have had opportunity to molest this twelve year old girl! Oh no, this doctor was a buddy with the other “big” shots at ABWE and one supposes he was considered untouchable due to the fact he was a medical doctor and the son of a notable figure who had once led the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Now you think about it, for I do not believe those men in the ABWE home office were ever thinking that this sordid affair would ever come out from beneath the rock for all to see! In fact this pedophile, one year before his pedophilia crime was reported, spoke at Cedarville College’s 1988 Missions Conference “challenging students with his stories of faith and love”! Does this remind you of 1Timothy 4:2 “Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron”?
HOW DID THIS MAN CONTINUE ON THE FIELD!?
ABWE did not terminate this adulterous pedophile until 1989 and then only because a 14 year old girl told her pastor what Ketcham was doing to her. Note also that ABWE uses the words “inappropriate behavior” in the statement quoted earlier rather than adultery or pedophilia! From the beginning ABWE has been elusive and in self-preservation mode.
Without going into a lot of material already covered by others and myself, it IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE this medical doctor had committed adultery even before he had reached the mission field. Also Ketcham after he was caught in pedophilia, admitted to having had three to five adulterous relationships while in Bangladesh! WHERE are the safe guards mission agenices are supposedly there for? How did this all take place on a mission compound? Were the other ABWE missionaries BLIND, DEAF AND DUMB when it came to this sin in the ABWE camp?
As one searches this sordid and foul affair you begin to wonder about things and questions come to mind such as where were the other missionaries? Where were those who should have been discerning that something was not right with this man? How did this take place on a mission compound and no one suspected anything? Will the new regulations and a new paid position protect the ABWE children? Again it sounds like the government. Something goes wrong so we will make another rule, another law, spend more money, hire more personnel and things will get better. NOT!
This medical doctor was allowed to go back and start a medical practice in Michigan without ABWE reporting his pedophila to the Michigan medical board. How could any organization let alone a supposedly Christian organization do this? Is it because ABWE is a GOOD OLE BOY’S CLUB? Not until “March 20, 2012 – ABWE announces that Ketcham pleaded no-contest to allegations of a ‘violation of general duty’ and ‘lack of good moral character’ by the State of Michigan Medical Board of Review after their investigation, which was begun in mid-2011. Ketcham surrenders his medical license once and for all.” Not until the lid is blown off the sewer does ABWE report this man to the Michigan medical board. No one can tell a discerning person that there was not and still is cover-up and self-preservation in this whole messy situation. No wonder Loftis fled when he did.
This man, Donn Ketcham, is well past retirement age so surrendering his license twenty some years later doesn’t really hurt his back pocket. He has had over twenty years to plan and prepare for retirement through a medical practice that probably earned more money in one year than he earned in ten as a missionary. If this sin and unlawful act of pedophilia had occurred in the USA he would not have been practicing medicine but would have been in jail!
PEDOPHILE VISITS ABWE MISSION FIELDS
This pedophile has even visited Bangladesh again but according to a statement by ABWE they “…refused to permit him to serve on the board of an ABWE subsidiary. If Dr. Ketcham visited ABWE ministry locations, it was at the invitation of friends and family, not in any official capacity. ABWE has never denied or withheld information about his crime when asked.”
Was that not good of ABWE to refuse Ketcham from serving on “the board of an ABWE subsidiary”. My question is why was Ketcham’s name even brought forward for nomination to any board ABWE was associated with? Is it because he was never identified as a pedophile! But even if he wasn’t he was an known adulterer and still he is brought forward to serve on a board of an ABWE subsidiary! UNBELIEVABLE! IT LOOKS as though the Good Ole Boy’s Club is alive and well even if one is an adulterer and/or pedophile. Again I say UNBELIEVABLE! This doesn’t go well for ABWE even though they seem to think they did SO MUCH!
WHERE TO FROM HERE?
As stated earlier ABWE had released G.R.A.C.E from their task and ABWE has now hired IPP, Professional Investigators International. Of course all of this was done smothered with much prayer so ABWE says.
ABWE is accustom to using typical Christian jargon like “As members of the body of Christ, we know the value of truth, honesty and transparency — and we are continually learning how to exemplify those characteristics in our actions and words (emphasis added).” Really? If this is true why did ABWE release G.R.A.C.E. only weeks from submitting their report? If these three qualities are true of ABWE they are only recently acquired. As a former missionary with ABWE I was told that I was treated worse than Donn Ketcham. Now after the revelation of this septic pedophile situation it can be seen how true that statement was. Where is the truth, honesty and transparency of which ABWE so easily speaks? Releasing G.R.A.C.E. is just another indication of what ABWE really is not and that is truthful, honest or transparent!
As a former ABWE missionary, my wife and I were interviewed via Skype by G.R.A.C.E and we found nothing untoward in that interview. They were professional, objective and sought to only know the truth and only the truth. They were honest with us and some days after the interview they sent us a transcript for our approval.
DON’T QUIT GIRLS
Hopefully the girls who began this will not stop due to ABWE’s obstinance and seemingly self-preservation methods. These girls need the backing of all Christian believers and churches that truly care for real truth, honesty and transparency!
