‘With the number of new COVID-19 cases rising in much of the world, scientists are warning that continued transmission provides an opportunity for the evolution of new, and potentially more harmful, SARS-CoV-2 variants. The current increase in cases is being fueled by the highly transmissible Delta variant as well as the loosening and inconsistent use of public health prevention measures, increased social mobility, and inequitable vaccine access, WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus said on July 30, warning that health systems in many countries are overwhelmed and that more variants will emerge as long as the virus continues to spread. US CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky cautioned that a new variant could potentially evade vaccines but added the vaccines authorized in the US continue to protect people from severe disease and death.
In a modeling study published in Nature Scientific Reports on July 30, researchers with the Austria Institute of Science and Technology examined the impact of the rate of vaccination and the strength of non-pharmaceutical interventions on the probability of the emergence and establishment of a vaccine-resistant SARS-CoV-2 strain. The researchers’ model identified three factors that could lead to the establishment of a vaccine-resistant strain: the high probability of a resistant strain’s initial emergence, a high number of infected individuals, and a low rate of vaccination. The researchers’ analysis showed that the highest risk of vaccine-resistant strain establishment occurs when a large proportion of the population is vaccinated but viral transmission is high, underlining the importance of controlling transmission through public health interventions while continuing vaccination campaigns. As far as human knowledge is concerned, it is vital to know that “the fear of the LORD” is the very foundation of “knowledge” and of “wisdom” (Proverbs 1:7; 9:10). All the greatest scientists of the past acknowledged that they were seeking merely to “think God’s thoughts after Him.”
How foolish it is to ignore or to oppose God! There are only four places in the Bible that speak of God laughing (Psalm 2:4; 37:13; 59:8; Proverbs 1:26), and each of them describes His response to such folly.
Instead, we should marvel at all the wonders of His creation and providence. “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33).
Our text verse above (Colossians 2:3) is actually referring explicitly to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten and eternal Son of God. It is He who has given us access to the Creator God and therefore access to the divine knowledge and understanding. ‘NSW PARLIAMENT HAS LOST TOUCH WITH REALITY It’s bad enough that Labor and Liberal have combined to close down the August sittings of the NSW Parliament. Democracy has been replaced by an indefinite ‘Greater Sydney’ lockdown, extending from the Central Coast to the Illawarra. People have lost their jobs, businesses have closed, families are struggling with home schooling and society itself is fracturing. The NSW Government has even told people not to talk to their neighbours and friends on the street. What has been the response of the people running NSW Parliament during this crisis? The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Jonathan O’Dea, has a huge budget to run the building in Macquarie Street. You would reasonably think his first priority would be helping people keep their jobs and helping businesses to stay open. But No. He has engaged in a wacky, wasteful and self-indulgent spending spree, thinking up new ways of washing taxpayers funds down the drain. I’m talking many millions of dollars, spent on:1. $400,000 minimum for a ‘review of workplace culture’ by the notorious Left-feminist Elizabeth Broderick. It’s a ‘monkey see, money do’ approach following the media hysteria about Canberra’s Parliament House. I can tell you, these are very different parliaments and this Broderick review is being conducted just for the sake of it, not because of an identified problem. Broderick will do what she always does with these reviews: find ’sexism’, ‘gender inequality’ and ‘misogyny’. It’s an expensive, pre-determined process without any grounding in reality.2. Huge expenditure on the Speaker’s courtyard renovation, which was a beautiful space to start with and did not need any changes. The cost is off the radar.3. Millions spent on bollards in front of the building on Macquarie Street, with the work dragging on for a year. The bollards are supposed to protect school students entering the building. But at no cost, school buses could have parked at the rear entrance to the building on Hospital Road, with students coming in that way with 100% safety. An amazing waste of money.4. A renovation of the Strangers Dining Room that has gone on forever, and no MP can understand why it was needed or what it’s trying to achieve. The building is a permanent construction zone, as O’Dea and his advisors constantly look for ways of spending their budget just for the sake of it. Come 30 June every year, they have cleaned out the coffers on newly invented projects.5. Employment of a special Indigenous Liaison Officer, even though there are 135 NSW MPs who liaise with Aboriginal communities on a regular basis – that’s their job, There is no sign yet of the new employee venturing west of the Great Dividing Range to help the really disadvantaged communities living in squalor. It’s another virtue signaling O’Dea joke.6. The Speaker employing a press secretary, even though his presence in the media is next to zero. Most people would not even know his name. The press secretary has just launched a book with Adam Goodes, of course.7. A constant flow of woke, virtue signaling nonsense sent out to MPs. Recently we were told to celebrate NAIDOC week by baking Indigenous cookies. No thanks, I’m too busy working on my real job concerning jobs, services and the education system.8. The never-ending replacement of ceilings around the building, for reasons no one can understand. The building is only 35 years old but looking at the wasteful renovations, you would think it was built in 1788 (or 1693 according to Bruce Pascoe).9. A $100,000 marble bust of Virginia Chadwick (never heard of her – don’t worry, most haven’t) to be placed in the Legislative Council chamber.10. Special ‘Koori Cooks’ in the Parliament House kitchen, serving up slices of kangaroo covered in native flowers. No thanks. This stuff is so bad it didn’t even make it into my cookbook with Alan Jones! 11. Rainbow flags around the building and constant reminders of the Alphabet People. Why? Because they can. But aren’t minorities supposed to have rights too? I’m only a straight white male from the outer suburbs, so a tiny minority among the LGBTIAPWTF cult in NSW politics. So I need a Safe Space with Trigger Warnings as much as anyone. Who’s protecting me from Micro-Aggressions and Unconscious Bias? Where’s my flag, the Australian flag, festooned inside the building?12. At huge cost, a new frosted door is being built into one of the foyer walls as an extra entrance to the parliamentary bar. There are already two entrances to this relatively small area, making this the ultimate indulgence project. Its sole purpose is to eat up the allocated parliamentary budget. The door will be frosted in a wacky plan to protect the privacy of MPs. How out of touch can an institution be? Bismarck once said, “Laws are like sausages, it’s better not to watch them being made”. If NSW taxpayers could see the waste and extravagance of the NSW Parliament building during this time of crisis, they would be totally disgusted.

‘In 2007, America had one pediatric gender clinic; today there are hundreds. Testosterone is readily available to adolescents from places like Planned Parenthood and Kaiser, often on a first visit—without even a therapist’s note.
How did we get to this point? How is it that we are all supposed to pretend that the only way you can know I’m a woman is if I tell you my pronouns? How did we get to an America in which a 13-year-old in the State of Washington can begin “gender affirming” therapy without her parents’ consent? How did we get to an America in which a 15-year-old in Oregon can undergo “top surgery”—elective double mastectomy—without her parents’ permission? And what can we do about it?
To understand how we got to this point, it is useful to begin by considering gender dysphoria—the feeling of severe discomfort in a person’s biological sex. Gender dysphoria is certainly real. It is also exceedingly rare. It afflicts about 0.01 percent of the population, most of whom are male.
For nearly 100 years of diagnostic history, gender dysphoria typically began in early childhood, between the ages of two and four, and usually involved a boy who insisted that he was not a boy but a girl. Children afflicted are insistent, consistent, and persistent in the feeling that they are in the wrong body. It is by all accounts excruciating—I’ve talked to many transgender adults, most of them biological males, who describe the relentless chafe of a body that feels all wrong.
Historically, this has been the classic presentation of gender dysphoria. When these children were left alone—when no one intervened medically or encouraged what we today call “social transition”—over 70 percent of them naturally outgrew their gender dysphoria. Most of those who outgrew it became gay men. Those who did not outgrow it became what used to be known as transsexuals. They did not believe they were women, but they felt most comfortable presenting themselves as females.
Today, however, we don’t leave these children alone. Instead, the moment children seem not to be perfectly feminine or perfectly masculine, we label them as “trans kids.” Teachers encourage them to reintroduce themselves to their classes with new names and new pronouns. We take them to therapists or doctors, nearly all of whom practice so-called affirmative care—meaning they think it is their job to affirm the diagnosis of gender dysphoria and help the children medically transition.
The typical first step in treatment administered to these kids is puberty blockers, which shut down the part of the pituitary gland that directs the release of hormones catalyzing puberty. The most common of these drugs is Lupron, whose original purpose was the chemical castration of sex offenders. To this day, the FDA has never approved this drug for halting healthy puberty.
One has to wonder why a parent or a doctor would take measures to stop a child’s puberty, given that even a child with genuine gender dysphoria would most likely outgrow that condition if left alone. Some argue that it is traumatizing to let children go through the puberty of the sex to which they do not wish to belong. But in many cases, puberty seems to have helped children overcome gender dysphoria. The truth is that there is no satisfying answer, given that scientists have no way of predicting which children will outgrow the dysphoria on their own and which won’t.
Proponents of “affirmative care” also argue that allowing puberty to occur is dangerous, because suicide rates for trans-identified youth and trans adults are very high. Therefore, they say, we need to start treating children with gender dysphoria as soon and as dramatically as possible.
Yet there are no good long-term studies indicating that puberty blockers cure suicidality or even improve mental health. Nor are there studies that show puberty blockers are safe or reversible when used in this manner.
What we do know is that puberty blockers prevent the development of secondary sex characteristics, sexual maturation, and bone density. Indeed, because of the inhibition of bone density and other risks, doctors don’t like to keep children on puberty blockers for more than two years.
We also know that in almost every case when a child’s healthy puberty is medically arrested, placing the child out of step with his or her peers, that child proceeds to cross-sex hormones. And when puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones are administered to a girl, she becomes infertile. She may also have permanent sexual dysfunction given that her sex organs never reach adult maturity.
Given this, the claims made by so many doctors and gender activists today that these medical transition measures for children are safe and reversible—that they are a “pause button,” without serious downsides—are not only dishonest, but destructive.
