New Zealand is, in my opinion, owned lock stock and barrel by the CCP. Now, ‘Over the course of the past 12 months, New Zealand has been through a number of enforced lockdowns due to COVID-19. Despite these setbacks, our government’s response to the disease has been internationally lauded as an example of how to effectively manage a pandemic.
Some countries—initially, at least—placed their economies ahead of health outcomes. New Zealand, however, chose a different path. From the beginning, the government aimed to eliminate community transmission of the virus. The focus was on saving human life, without regard for age or underlying health conditions, despite the inevitable cost.
From a biblical perspective, this emphasis on the value of life is to be commended. We are all made in the image of God, despite living in a fallen world. As such, we should do everything in our power to extend the life and minimize the suffering of our fellow human beings.
It makes very little sense, however, if atheistic evolution is true. ‘Survival of the fittest’ is supposed to be the key to evolutionary progress. Why, then, should we care about prolonging the life of those least likely to survive a virus? Particularly when the most susceptible are well past their reproductive use-by date.
Sadly, this same valuing of human life does not extend to the most vulnerable in our society. As New Zealand enacted the government’s lifesaving COVID-19 strategy, our parliament passed the Abortion Legislation Act 2020.
The law change was aimed at removing abortion from the Crimes Act. This was to reflect the (sad) reality of abortion in this country. However, the pro-abortion lobby seized the opportunity to implement one of the most extreme pieces of abortion legislation in the world.
Abortion is now available up to birth on demand for any reason. (After 20 weeks, the abortion must be ‘clinically appropriate in the circumstances’. Experience with the previous legislation tells us that this will, in most cases, be a foregone conclusion.4)
There is now no legal age limit on seeking or having an abortion. Parental notification is not required for minors. Sex-selective abortions are legal (an amendment to ban sex-selective abortions was voted down by members of parliament). The 20-week limit for disability-selective abortions has been scrapped. And babies born alive after a ‘failed’ abortion do not have to be given medical support.
Medical practitioners who object to abortion do not have to assist in the procedure. But they are required by law to provide information on how to contact the nearest provider.
This contradiction in valuing human life is hard to comprehend. It is also impossible to reconcile with evolution. If those with the highest reproductive rate are more likely to contribute to evolutionary progress, as evolutionists would have us believe, why would otherwise healthy individuals choose to abort their offspring?
Most abortions in New Zealand are performed because our society has deemed unwanted pregnancy to be an inconvenience that can be ‘solved’ by medical intervention. This stands in stark contrast to the biblical understanding of life.’
‘So how, might you ask, does this relate to cows? Let me explain.
New Zealand is also held up internationally as a model for the efficient production of dairy products. We are the world’s largest exporter, accounting for over 20% of the dairy export trade. This is more than twice as much as our nearest competitor.6
To produce milk, cows must have calves. For maximum efficiency, it is preferable that the cows all calve at the same time. As such, late calving cows can be ‘inconvenient’ for the farmer. One way to solve this problem is to induce the cow, which results in calves either born dead, or requiring euthanasia because they are not viable.7
Animal welfare groups and their political allies decried this procedure. One politician called the practice “inhumane and cruel” and called for the removal of induction-drugs from the market. She even claimed that vets who carried out inductions were engaged in “a breach of their code”. As a result, since June 2015 induction of dairy cows to abort their calves in New Zealand has been banned, except where the welfare or survival of the cow, or the calf, is at risk. And yet this same politician, in a speech advocating human abortion, reportedly said: “it’s incredible that abortion is still such a contentious and divisive issue”!’ The rest of this article may be read at https://creation.com/abortion-in-new-zealand?utm_campaign=infobytes_au&utm_content=Which+are+more+valuable+-+New+Zealanders%2C+or+their+cows%3F&utm_medium=email&utm_source=mailing.creation.com&utm_term=Fortnightly+Digest+-+2021.03.05
Most of us do not like or desire violence of any kind. However, there does seem to be two standards of justice in the good ole USA. ‘Investigators have recommended that prosecutors decline to bring charges against a US Capitol Police officer in the shooting of a pro-Trump rioter who was killed during the insurrection, according to people familiar with the matter.
The shooting of pro-Trump rioter, Ashli Babbitt, remains under investigation by the DC Metropolitan Police, the US Attorney’s Office in Washington, DC, and civil rights prosecutors, a routine process for shootings involving the Capitol Police. A final decision hasn’t been made, the people familiar with the probe told CNN.’ https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/02/investigators-recommend-no-charges-capitol-police-officer-shot-killed-ashli-babbitt-still-wont-release-identity/
Does anything surprise you anymore? Paul the Apostle wrote to Pastor Timothy in 1Timothy 6: 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
‘Pastors at the scandal-ridden Hillsong Church lived lavishly on congregants’ tithe money, according to former Hillsong members and staff who spoke recently with the New York Post.
The church provided pastors and staff with pre-paid expense cards that they used to buy whatever they wanted—from designer purses to Manhattan hotel stays to huge quantities of food, the sources said.
Former Hillsong LA service pastor Nicole Herman told the Post that she personally loaded the funds onto expense cards for Hillsong pastors, including former Hillsong NYC Pastor Carl Lentz, who recently was fired from the church for an adulterous affair. Herman said the cards were also given to volunteers to make purchases for the church and its pastors.
According to Herman, all the money loaded onto the cards came from church donations and was refilled through her former husband who was the CFO of Hillsong LA.
Another former Hillsong congregant who spoke with the Post was 27-year-old Jenna Babbitt, who started attending Hillsong NYC in August 2011. Babbitt said she worked as a nanny for several Hillsong pastors, including Reed and Jess Bogard who unexpectedly resigned from Hillsong Dallas earlier this month.
Babbitt said she was given access to a pre-paid card to buy food for the children she babysat. She added that she and other volunteers also used the cards to buy spreads of food for the pastors before every service. The cards were also used to buy luxury presents and meals from upscale restaurants for visiting pastors, she said.
According to Babbitt, the church never required her to reconcile the purchases she made with the card, nor was there an expectation that the pastors would reimburse the church for personal purchases made with the card.
During the six years she attended the church, Babbitt said she donated thousands of dollars to Hillsong and worked without pay, even though she was poor at the time.
“The exploitation of free labor while these pastors are making bank is just crazy to me,” Babbitt told the Post. (In a podcast released earlier this month, former Hillsong member Janis Lagata recounted a similar experience.)
Another Hillsong NYC member who worked as a nanny for Hillsong pastors is former member Megan Phalon. Phalon told the Post that she began attending, volunteering and tithing to the church in 2011 and began baby-sitting for Pastors Kane and Karla Keatinge about a year later.
Phalon said she also was given a pre-paid card with the instructions to explicitly use it for the Keatinge’s kids, not herself.
Phalon said Keatinge was required to report his expenditures to Reed Bogard each month, but could never remember what the receipts were for. According to Phalon, the receipts included “hundreds” of purchases from restaurants, $700 for a new iPhone, and four-wheeler ATVs the pastors would drive around Williamsburg, a pricey neighborhood in Brooklyn where all the Hillsong NYC pastors lived.
Similarly, Brandon Walker, a 28-year-old who helped the Bogards start a Hillsong branch in Dallas, spoke of the lavish lifestyle Hillsong pastors lived.
Walker told the Post he remembered “a lot of eating out” and renting “very nice Airbnbs,” including one that cost $1,100/night. Walker added that Hillsong kept the finances secret because the expenditures were so excessive.
Walker said Reed Bogard once gave him $600 when he needed money. “That’s a tactic a lot of these pastors use to keep their secrets,” Walker told the Post. “Buying us expensive gifts, giving us money, like, ‘I got your back, so when I need you to have my back, this is something to remember.’”
I reached out to Reed Bogard for comment, but he did not respond by time of publishing. The Post said it also reached out to the Bogards, but the couple responded by blocking the Post reporter on Instagram.
Hillsong is reportedly investigating its East Coast branch, following the scandal involving Lentz.
Phalon said she shared details of her experience with investigation lawyers who “were shocked” by what she shared. Lawyers also reportedly contacted Babbitt, asking about the church’s use of expense cards.’https://julieroys.com/hillsong-members-tithes-funded-pastors-lavish-lifestyles/?mc_cid=616742f2a5&mc_eid=b13d34ad49
The climate scammers are out in full force now that Leftist Sleepy Joe is at the helm. The world according to Bishop Ussher was only a little over 1600 years from the original creation when man had gotten so wicked that God sent a deluge upon the world and ONLY EIGHT PEOPLE SURVIVED. It wasn’t carbon that caused the flood but the sinfulness of man but as history shows man doesn’t learn much from history.
Now, today, it isn’t the sinfulness of mankind that causes politicians to lose sleep but its too MUCH CARBON!
It was only at midday Friday The Spectator Australia asked Will Australia face carbon tariffs under the Biden regime? By that evening, the Prime Minister had pre-empted any trade war with an immediate surrender or, as his spin on the front page of The Weekend Australian put it, declaring that the “Politics of carbon has ended“.
The Biden Administration’s flurry of energy and carbon emission-related measures during its first day have had an immediate effect on Australian policy, with Scott Morrison declaring that political debate about reaching a carbon-neutral future is over.
Overturning Trump’s policies, Biden has recommitted the United States to the Paris Climate Accord, rescinded approvals for leases to explore for oil and gas on public lands and for a major oil pipeline — with the loss of thousands of jobs in his own country and Canada — and reimplemented tight vehicle emission controls.
It would not have been lost on Australian bureaucrats that Biden has previously discussed a carbon tax and that he has selected as Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, who has been working with the bipartisan Climate Leadership Council on carbon emission policies.
Yellen’s aim is for policies that would not leave US businesses vulnerable to competition from nations that are not incurring the costs of decarbonising their economies. Her proposal is for “carbon customs unions” that are to be deemed compliant with World Trade Organization rules. This is similar to EU thinking. The policy would impose punitive carbon tariffs on imports from countries judged to have inadequate emission reduction policies and perhaps offer exporters GST-type rebates on the emission-restraining costs they incur.
Yellen’s approach is consistent with views of Obama officials that have been appointed to key positions in the Biden Administration. Among these is former Environment Protection Agency (EPA) head, Gina McCarthy as National Climate Adviser and John Kerry as the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate. Biden has also appointed other climate change warriors to head powerful agencies, including the new the EPA head, Michael Regan and Green New Deal proponent Deb Haarland as Secretary of the Interior.
Four years ago, in my book Climate Change: Treaties and Policies in the Trump Era, I noted President Trump’s rejection of doom-laden climate prognoses and his determination to avoid measures that would place the US at a commercial disadvantage to other countries. That meant rejecting the Paris Climate Accord with its hefty decarbonisation costs. Fast-growing developing countries: China, India, Vietnam and Indonesia had also rejected emission restraints and once the US did so, this left only the EU almost alone among the major emitters. This would cause the Paris Accord to collapse, bringing a different end to the climate wars than the one now foreshadowed.
Trump’s low-cost energy policies contributed to a resurgence of the US economy, where high growth was accompanied by record-low unemployment rates and the US becoming, for the first time in 60 years, a net exporter of oil and gas. In ploughing an alternative field, the Biden team, like the EU, realises that decarbonisation must be multilateral to ensure acceptable national economic harm.
Developing countries might obtain a respite from US (and EU) attempts to prevent an erosion of their competitiveness through tariffs. But this would be more difficult for Australia to achieve, notwithstanding that, in terms of actual decarbonisation costs incurred, Australia has spent twice as much per capita as the US and EU. Aside from the money wasted on high-cost wind and solar, the 20 per cent share of electricity supply that renewable energy subsidies have brought about has resulted in an unreliable supply. Indicative of this is that last year, because subsidised renewables supply energy when it is not needed, the electricity market actually saw negative prices for almost four per cent of the time. Such negative prices place further pressure on the economics of those electricity suppliers that are dependent on commercial interactions for their revenues and brings a snowball effect in undermining reliability.
In seeking a way out of the impasse created by changed US policies, Morrison says he wants Australia to achieve carbon neutrality by adopting yet to be discovered technology innovations. In this, he finds himself in the camp of NSW Energy Minister Matt Kean, the standard-bearer for the anti-fossil fuel lobby, who has announced “hydrogen will power the future”.
The Prime Minister has previously rebuked Kean but the best path forward may be to proclaim Australia’s green credentials in having funded the destruction of its previously reliable electricity supply industry and to announce a 2050 net-zero commitment. Achieving that goal should be accompanied by gradually eliminating subsidies and be made contingent on the alchemy of turning hydrogen into energy or other unlikely breakthroughs.
Obtaining EU/US acceptance of such an approach as policy-compliant will be among the most important policy challenges Australia faces in navigation the shoals emerging from the Biden victory. ‘ https://spectator.com.au/2021/01/morrison-runs-up-the-white-flag-on-carbon/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=MDS%20%2020210126%20%20GK&utm_content=MDS%20%2020210126%20%20GK+CID_b5eae7b0b1d2707e7235df94a645b691&utm_source=CampaignMonitor_Australia&utm_term=ScoMo%20runs%20up%20the%20white%20flag%20on%20carbon
Sleepy Basement Leftist Senile Joe Biden has already put several thousand Americas out of work on his first day in office by canceling the Keystone Pipeline. Nevertheless, Sleepy senile ‘Joe Biden’s plans to cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline is a gift to someone. The radical green groups for sure: they have opposed the oil link since its inception. The trucking and railroad industry will benefit, too, because once the pipeline is stopped, then the oil will be transported in and around America by something with wheels. It’s also a gift to our adversaries: for who will benefit when America and Canada can’t bring their fossil fuels to market? The competition. Russia and Venezuela will be thrilled to know their market share will increase thanks to the Biden Administration’s fumble.
What’s fascinating about Keystone is how un-fascinating the project actually really is. Sure, it’s a marvel of engineering and an extraordinary accomplishment of human and mechanical skills. The 1,200 mile pipeline from Alberta, Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast carrying crude oil to be refined is a great infrastructure project. A State Department study commissioned during the Obama Administration (when Joe Biden was Veep, a point which requires emphasis) determined the pipeline would create 3,200 temporary construction jobs directly, 42,000 additional jobs indirectly, and generate over $2 billion in wages. For the people in Montana, South Dakota, and Nebraska, the states through which the proposed pipeline will transverse, that’s an enormous opportunity.
Joe Biden claims to love infrastructure. His “Build Back Better” program commits to infrastructure programs which create “good paying” jobs and achieve “net-zero” emissions. (Know what has emissions? Trucks and trains. Know what doesn’t? Pipelines. But alas, there’s no place for facts in a party which simplistically “believes in science.”). Eliminating Keystone for purely political reasons eliminates these jobs and all the opportunities for these communities. Rural America will not fare well under the Biden energy agenda. After all, this is just the beginning.
Are pipelines scary? If you think so, I have the plot of a horror film: the call is coming from inside the house. Your house is full of pipelines. America is crisscrossed with over 2.6 million miles of pipeline. That’s enough to get to the moon and back….more than five times. Is there a risk? Of course, and the Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, records all pipeline incidents. Last year there were fewer than a dozen considered “serious” and one tragically resulted in the death of four workers in Texas.
Let’s compare that to trucking, which is the fallback transportation method after the pipeline is ignorantly canceled. Another office at the Department of Transportation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, also records accidents. In 2018, the most recent year for recorded data, large trucks were involved in 4,862 fatal crashes, 112,000 crashes which resulted in injury, and 414,000 crashes which resulted in property damage.
You tell me which is greener and safer: pipelines or trucks? The facts are clear, and this is no way a knock on the trucking industry which is a vital, noble, and risky profession. It’s just a technological reality.
Keystone was also making a massive renewable energy investment, and you’d think that alone would please the green Biden team. According to The Wall Street Journal, “Canada’s TC Energy Corp. TRP 0.29% is committing to spend $1.7 billion on solar, wind and battery power to operate the partially completed 2,000-mile pipeline.” Furthermore, the company pledges “also to hire a union workforce and eliminate all greenhouse-gas emissions from operations by 2030.” These points which hit the very plan Biden promises should trump (pardon the pun) politics and keep the project alive.
Canada has an economy to run, too, and the country has lots of oil to sell. If Keystone is stopped, it will simply be sold elsewhere. China? Probably. As the world’s largest oil importer at 10-11 million barrels a day, China would love to buy oil from anyone but America. Canada needs revenue and jobs. China needs oil. Losing our northern neighbor’s reliable, inexpensive, and abundant crude to the Chinese Communist Party nation would be a foreign policy collapse. But if Biden wants to continue the Obama-Biden tradition, more foreign policy disasters are to be expected.
I’ve written here before about the great gift to China which is the entire Biden energy agenda. At the same time he will be watching Canada’s oil go to China, Biden will be buying Chinese wind and solar technologies with borrowed American tax dollars. Meanwhile, Russia will be selling its natural gas to Europe, while America will join the other eunuchs of the Paris Climate Accord to keep China and Russia laughing at all of us.
Great plan. Putin and Xi themselves couldn’t have crafted a better one.
Energy policy isn’t the simplicity of soundbites. “Cancel Keystone” is a bumper sticker, not the decision of a serious politician who sees the real world fallout of jobs and geopolitics let alone the increase in emissions that will result.
This is just the beginning of an energy agenda that will cripple us on so many levels: jobs, cost of living, and opportunity. It will hurt our critical allies in Canada and Europe. It will benefit our enemies Russia and China. And it will do absolutely nothing for the environment.
It’s almost as if Joe Biden isn’t the “moderate” we were always told he is, even if his tweets will be nicer than his predecessor.’ https://www.realclearenergy.org/articles/2021/01/19/earth_to_joe_biden_canceling_keystone_xl_pipeline_is_a_gift_to_china_and_russia_656961.html
The Left are out to destroy anyone who is not one of them. Therefore, ‘Mike Lindell, the lovable CEO of MyPillow and notorious supporter of President Donald Trump, issued a defiant statement this week after voting machines company Dominion filed a defamation lawsuit against him.
Lindell, who has defiantly stood by his claim that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from President Trump, has urged Dominion to maintain its lawsuit against him so he can show the evidence in a court of law.
Dominion accused Lindell of engaging in a “smear campaign” against the company and, in a cease and desist letter sent on Monday, said that he should “preserve and retain all documents relating to Dominion.”
Axios approached Lindell about the lawsuit, and Lindell didn’t shy away.
“I want Dominion to put up their lawsuit because we have 100% evidence that China and other countries used their machines to steal the election,” he said,
Lindell is supported by pro-Trump attorney Sidney Powell, who has long claimed that Dominion voting machines were compromised and the election illegally switched to favor candidate Joe Biden.’https://conservativeunit.com/mypillow-ceo-mike-lindell-issues-defiant-statement-after-dominion-threatens-him/
Free speech gone but supposedly free energy through renewables is here to stay. What a scam!
As Margaret Thatcher put it: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”
That adage, however, doesn’t appear to trouble Britain’s current PM, Boris Johnson, whose plan to squander a further £50,000,000,000 on subsidies and over-the-market contracts for intermittent offshore wind power beggars belief.
But that colossal crony-capitalist boondoggle, is a mere snip by comparison with the £3 trillion that he’s planning to squander on an effort to completely remove carbon dioxide gas from the British atmosphere – well, at least the kind generated by all human activity, that is.’ Lots more of this article at https://stopthesethings.com/2021/01/16/command-control-subsidised-wind-power-central-to-britains-great-socialist-reset/
‘It is quite ironic that many of those that are always telling us that we need “diversity” in our society are also some of the strongest voices against a “diversity of viewpoints” on social media. The founders of this nation wanted to make sure that nobody would ever take the right to freedom of speech away from us, and that is why it was enshrined in the Bill of Rights. Unfortunately, courts have greatly eroded that right over the last several decades, and now we are facing an all-out assault on freedom of speech that is unlike anything that we have ever seen before. And once freedom of speech is completely gone, all of our other rights will soon follow, because there will no longer be any way to defend them.
When the United States was established, government was really the only major threat to free speech. In early America, corporations were severely limited in size and scope, and that is because our founders were determined not to let them get too big or too powerful.
Our founders knew that enormous concentrations of money and power would be great threats to freedom, and that has definitely turned out to be the case.
In the old days, if you wanted to express yourself you could grab a soapbox and head down to a local street corner. The reason why we use the term “marketplace of ideas” today is because people literally used to gather in marketplaces and town squares and exchange ideas with one another.
In our time, the Internet has become the place where we all gather to exchange ideas, but unfortunately control of all of the most important gathering spaces is in the hands of a very small group of colossal tech corporations.
When Facebook, Twitter and others were first growing, they generally allowed people to say pretty much what they wanted to say, and information flowed pretty freely.
But censorship has escalated dramatically over the past four years, and it reached a crescendo the other day when Twitter announced that it would be permanently suspending President Trump’s account.
How would our founders feel about that?
Tech giants such as Facebook and Twitter now have more money than many entire countries do, and in many ways they also have the same level of power that many national governments possess.
Just think about this – President Trump could never take away your ability to express yourself, but Facebook and Twitter can.
Of course big corporations dominate just about every other aspect of our society as well. These collectivist institutions have become extremely dangerous, and they are really starting to throw their weight around.
Until the power of the big corporations is addressed, we will never have a truly free society again.
Just like leftist governments, big corporations seek to gather as much money and as much power under a single umbrella as possible.
Our founders wanted to empower the individual, and that is why they wanted to limit the size of government and that is why they also wanted to limit the size of corporations.
Sadly, it wasn’t just President Trump that got booted off Twitter in recent days. Hordes of conservative accounts have been wiped out, and this has led many to use the word “purge” to describe what has been happening.
On my Twitter account, I have literally lost more than a thousand followers in just a few days. Others have lost a lot more.
Many conservatives have been fleeing to Parler, but over the past several days the big tech giants teamed up to take that entire platform down…
Parler will likely go offline for “a while” Sunday evening given Amazon Web Services’ decision to suspend the upstart social media platform after Wednesday’s U.S. Capitol riot, executives said Sunday.
“We are clearly being singled out,” Chief Policy Officer Amy Peikoff told “Fox & Friends Weekend” one day after Apple suspended Parler from its App Store even as it surged to the No. 1 spot in the free apps section earlier in the day.
I was absolutely stunned when I heard that had happened.
These people are not playing games.
For the moment, Gab.com is still up, and their traffic has surged more than 750 percent in just the last few days…
Gab.com, the free speech friendly social network, says traffic has increased by more than 750 percent in the past few days, following the blacklisting of President Donald Trump from most mainstream tech platforms.
“Our traffic is up 753% in the past 24 hours. Tens of millions of visits,” said Gab in response to a question about slow loading speeds.
But how long will it be before Gab is taken down as well?
The big tech companies don’t want diversity, they don’t want competition and they don’t want dissent.
What they want is complete and total domination.
Cancel culture is not good for our society. If everyone with viewpoints that are not “politically correct” is eventually “canceled” we will have a society that looks a whole lot like communist China.
And I suppose that is precisely what a lot of people out there truly want.
It is not always easy to listen to viewpoints that you consider to be offensive. Personally, I do not like most of what my fellow citizens are saying in 2021.
But in the United States we are not supposed to silence opposing viewpoints that we do not like. Instead, we are supposed to strive for victory in the marketplace of ideas by showing that our viewpoints are better.
Unfortunately, the big tech companies have decided that millions of Americans should no longer be allowed to participate in the marketplace of ideas because their viewpoints are just too offensive.
Ironically, many of those that are doing the censoring have the most offensive and the most dangerous viewpoints of all.
Needless to say, if we stay on the path that we are currently on there is no future for America.
Without free speech, the system of government that our founders established simply won’t work.
What is the point of even having elections if we can only express one point of view?
In China, no dissent is allowed and one political party runs everything on a permanent basis.
America appears to be heading in the same direction, and there are millions of people in this country that are actually quite thrilled that this is happening.’http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/without-freedom-of-speech-what-is-going-to-happen-to-america/
