Giant lithium-ion batteries are said to be the panacea for the hopeless intermittency of wind and solar; they’re also said to be the backbone for an all-Electric Vehicle future.

Neither proposition stands a moment’s scrutiny.

The true cost of energy storage using lithium-ion batteries is phenomenal, such that it will never match the scale needed to compensate for the erratic and occasional delivery of wind and solar.

The hefty cost of the latest EVs equipped with sufficient battery capacity to drive further than the local shops, puts them out of reach for all but hotshot lawyers and merchant bankers. The fact that the materials required for lithium-ion batteries involves stripmining the poorest parts of the Third World doesn’t appear trouble the EV aficionado.

The climate alarmists play a tricky word game here. They call carbon dioxide “pollution” and wind and solar power “clean.” Our food supply is not pollution. Nor is emitting carbon dioxide (which we all do when we exhale) unclean. This is just false advertising. Watching a child grow is watching processed carbon dioxide be reprocessed.

Not so long ago, the USA went from a net energy importer to exporter. Now, thanks to Joe Biden and his anti-fossil fuel Squad, it’s fast becoming a third-rate energy power.

With the erratic and dithering Biden struggling to get grip on reality in the midst of an energy crisis, Americans are watching their hard-won prosperity slip away. And all the Democrats can apparently offer are more subsidies for hopelessly intermittent wind and solar.

The popular crowdfunding site GoFundMe has taken down yet another conservative donation campaign.

As donations for the “Freedom Convoy” trucker protest in Ottawa, Ontario, reached $10 million on Feb. 4, GoFundMe pulled the plug on it and took the page down, alleging violence and unlawful activity as an excuse.

To add insult to injury, the company wasn’t originally planning on returning the donated funds from the canceled page unless asked. Instead, GoFundMe claimed it intended to distribute the money to charities the truckers selected. After massive public pushback—especially from a number of states’ attorneys general—the platform relented and said it would automatically return the funds.
