They say that what happens in California eventually happens everywhere else in America.
Increasingly, that’s becoming really bad news for the rest of us.
For decades now, the Golden State has been perhaps the world’s foremost center of creativity, innovation, and trendsetting. But these days, it seems to be teaching us one How Not To lesson after another. This includes the government’s pipe dream of forcing trucking fleets to go green. We can practically hear an angst-filled voice from the future: It sounded like a good idea at the time.

But fear is a driving force in today’s environmental journalism. The use of fear as a motivator is much older than the musings of the late Stephen Schneider, who once urged his green colleagues to “offer up scary scenarios, make simplified dramatic statements, and make little mention of any doubts we may have” to gin up fear and anger over climate change.

I am a big fan of Elon Musk’s strong defense of free speech. It’s a pillar of freedom and fundamental American value that the left has completely abandoned. But right now, Musk is in communist China demonstrating what’s wrong with far too many corporate CEOs today.
Musk has a huge problem. He desperately wants to break into the large Chinese auto market. So, this week, he is in China trying to secure favorable treatment for his Tesla plant in Shanghai.
Musk and other American CEOs are publicly speaking out against efforts to economically decouple the United States from communist China. His statement was immediately exploited by the vast communist Chinese propaganda operation.
