The words Melbourne, Australia, and freedom do not seem to go together when it comes to standing for Israel against Islamic protesting against Israel.

Tariq Ramadan, the grandson of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan al-Bana, is a Swiss lecturer on Islam with millions of followers and one of Time Magazine‘s 
“men of the year“. Accused of rape by three women, however, Ramadan is now in custody of the French police. In denying the allegations of sexual violence, his #MeToo case has turned into a political and religious affair.
The Algerian writer Kamel Daoud summarized the response of the Arab-Islamic world to the Ramadan affair: “Silence, discomfort, embarrassment and theories of mass conspiracy”.
The Muslim communities likely know what is at stake in the case of Ramadan, which the Muslim sociologist Omero Marongiu-Perria has called a “crumbling myth“. But if the Muslims’ silence and defense of Tariq Ramadan is something regrettable, Western silence is worse.
Ramadan’s ethnic and religious identity — as is becoming increasingly common (for instance, here, here and here) — has been evoked as part of his defense. After the first sexual accusations came out against Ramadan, Professor Eugene Rogan, Director of Oxford’s Middle East Centre, where Ramadan also teaches, defended his colleague. Ramadan, Rogan said, is a “prominent Muslim“.
According to the French philosopher Pascal Bruckner, “the blindness of the Anglo-Saxons on political Islam is frightening. In the United States, as in the UK, attacking Tariq Ramadan earn you a charge of racism”.
130 personalities, including the economist Thomas Piketty and the French feminist Caroline De Haas, have defined the case against Ramadan as “a political campaign that, far from defending the cause of women, imposes on our country a destructive agenda of hatred and fear”.
Thousands of people in Europe and millions in the Arab world are simply not willing to accept that Tariq Ramadan can be judged and found guilty by a system of democratic, Western and secular justice. That is the question at stake: will we witness the triumph of extremists over powerless Muslim women who will most likely never again have the courage to denounce their Muslim aggressors? This desire to perpetuate inequality seems why enormous amounts of money are being collected to defend Mr. Ramadan.
107,000 euros were immediately raised to defend Ramadan. Then, in just two days, an additional 26,000 euros were collected.
The imprisonment of such a legend — the grandson of the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood — has caused a stir in the French and Swiss Muslim communities and mobilized a powerful propaganda machine. First the “Free Tariq Ramadan” website was created. Then 137,000 people signed an appeal to free him. Nadia Karmous, head of the Association of Muslim Women in Switzerland, supported the theologian as “a reliable and caring person”. At a recent “Annual Meeting of Muslims of France” in Bourget, a “support committee” for Ramadan was launched. His books were sold, and people collected funds and signed letters to French President Emmanuel Macron and the Minister of Justice, Nicole Belloubet, asking for the release of their idol.
The goal seems to be to turn Ramadan into a martyr. According to Asmar Lafar, the president of the “Muslims of France” organization, Ramadan’s pensée(“thinking/worldview”) is still “intact” despite the accusations. People holding placards saying “Free Tariq Ramadan” rallied in Paris.
Meanwhile, the three women who accused Ramadan of rape have been the subjects of intimidation, violence and threats.
Their daily hell has been exposed by the French weekly Marianne. “You only get what you deserve” is one of the many messages “Marie” (one of the two women who uses a pseudonym) receives every day. Except that message came from one of Ramadan’s brothers.
“I go out less and less”, she said. A few days ago, she was attacked on the street. “Dirty bitch”, four young men shouted at her.
One day, while “Marie” was bringing her son to school, a car stopped and the driver shouted, “Shut up; watch out for your children”. On March 24, she was violently assaulted in the hall of her home by two men who beat her up, sprayed water on her and said: “Next time it will be gasoline”.
“Christelle”, the second woman using a pseudonym, receives emails from strangers containing “very specific information about her private life and schedule”.
Henda Ayari, who filed the first complaint against Ramadan on October 20, 2017, no longer receives any support: “My family does not speak to me any more”. Her name, phone numbers and addresses were disclosed on social media.Her care was vandalized. “I cannot go shopping anymore,” Ayari said, “I cannot walk down the street, I go out with a cap, sunglasses and my head down… “I have not received any message [of support] from feminist organizations” she told Marianne.
All the testimonies are similar: “Phone calls in the middle of the night, people who are breathing or laughing at the other end of the phone”.
Very few talk about this #MeToo of multiculturalism, or about those who blame Ramadan’s alleged victims. According to The New Yorker:
“Ayari, who has received death threats, is a former Salafist who broke with Islam and has became a devout feminist and secularist à la française. She is something of a heroine in the extreme-right circles of the fachosphère, where Islamophobia is a ticket of admission”.
So according to this, the “real” problem is “Islamophobia”, not the Muslim subjugation of women.
Tariq Ramadan is extremely lucky. If he is judged according to Islamic law, he will almost certainly be found innocent. In Islam, the testimony of a female in court is worth half that of a man (Quran 2:282). If Ramadan is found guilty, he should thank France for having a secular democratic justice system. Otherwise, under Sharia, he would be stoned to death for adultery, as done in Somalia. Not so bad for an “Islamophobic” country such as France. Ramadan’s alleged victims are less lucky. ‘A Palestinian terrorist who seriously wounded an Israeli in a stabbing attack in the coastal town of Yavneh at the beginning of the month was inspired to commit the attack 
during a Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, according to an indictment filed against him on Monday.
The Israeli state prosecution filed an indictment against Ismail Abu Aram, 19, from the Hebron area, for the “attempted murder in terrorism circumstances” of Niv Nehama, a 42-year-old Israeli victim, during an attack at a local supermarket.
According to the indictment, Abu Aram recently became more religious and was encouraged to carry out the Muslim commandment of “Jihad [Muslim holy war] against the Jewish Israeli occupation.”
During the last Muslim month of Ramadan, which occurred during June, Abu Aram made a 12-day pilgrimage to the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca, which is holy to Muslims. There, he decided to commit Jihad by murdering a Jew in Israel.
On August 2, Abu Aram infiltrated Israel illegally with the intent of attacking his former employer. Armed with pepper spray, he sought out his former employer, but failing to find him, he sought out another victim.
He entered a local supermarket, stole a knife that was on sale and hid it in his pants. He then engaged the victim in conversation, during which he extracted the knife and stabbed the victim multiple times in his upper body.
Nehama, a father of five, fought back despite his grave wounds, and the terrorist dropped his knife. Abu Aram then assaulted Nehama with pepper spray and fled the scene of the attack.
The terrorist was apprehended shortly after by a passerby and then turned over to the police.
The indictment noted “extreme severity” because the terrorist “did anything in his power to execute the attack,” and was calculated and retained a cool head throughout the entire attack.
His vicious and well-planned actions were “driven by a nationalist-racist motivation” which serve “as a thousand witnesses” to the terrorist’s “determination and dangerousness,” the indictment states.

No evidence has been presented proving that the Assad government launched chemical weapons against its own people. NONE. But there are plenty of independent sources that 
say that the chemical weapons were brought into Syria by rebels, aka CIA-supported terror groups.
In my humble opinion, one would have to be an idiot to think that President Assad would be stupid enough to use chemical weapons when he knows that the the U.S. is just looking for any excuse to bomb his government, invade his capital, and even remove him from office–meaning KILL him.
This is shades of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya all over again.
FYI, who is it that has protected the Christians in Syria? Not Trump. Not Obama. Not Bush. Assad, that’s who. And which country’s population supports its president by a whopping 80%. Not Great Britain. Not the United States. Syria, that’s who.
Donald Trump is quickly living up to my worst fears about his presidency: he is escalating war all over the world. Think about it: the U.S. military launched at least 50 missiles into Syria. 50!!! When did Congress declare war against Syria? What gives a U.S. President the right to launch missiles against a foreign country without a Declaration of War from Congress? Now, we are hearing rumors that Trump is about to launch missiles into North Korea.

The man has barely learned his way around the White House and he has sent troops (or increased troop strength) into several foreign countries (including Syria); given the CIA the power to launch drone attacks at will; given the Pentagon broad authority to use military force at its own discretion; launched 50 missiles into a country that is absolutely NO threat to the United States; and is threatening to attack more nations–and soon.

I agree with Chuck Baldwin. This action will probably escalate into something worse and become another long drawn out no-win war or the end of America as it once was. Has anyone thought who takes Assad’s place if he is ousted? What is Trump’s plan, if any? As I see it, this is another excuse for more Islamic attacks on Westerners.
‘10,000 supporters of Turkey’s president Erdogan gathered in the König-Pilsener-Arena in Oberhausen, Germany, on Saturday to attend a speech by Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim. Yildirim was campaigning for a “Yes” vote to Erdogan’s constitutional reform 
which is set to abolish the office of prime minister and strengthen Erdogan’s one-man rule. “Those who love their country say yes” was the slogan of Saturday’s event.
Three million Turkish citizens live in Germany. 60 percent of those who cast a vote in Turkish elections support Erdogan and his Islamist party. Campaign stops by Erdogan and other senior figures of the ruling AK Party in Germany have become a political tradition in recent years. Perhaps Muslims immigrating to another country need to be asked; “Do you wish to live in a democratic nation or do you support an Islamist dictatorship?” Those who hold to the Islamic faith must ALSO be asked as to whether they can live by the laws of the nation in which they are immigrating or will they seek to have the whole of Sharia Law implemented?
Islam is a theocracy as was Israel in the Old Testament. If Jews today sought to impose the Old Testament laws onto society today it would not be acceptable. Neither should the Islamist Sharia Law be accepted. In the New Testament we find that the Lord Jesus Christ has given man freedom from the Law of the Old Testament as it says in Romans 10:4 “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”
What is wrong wth not only society in general but specifically the University Campus where a professor can condemn by gone days of slavery by white Americans but defend slavery when it comes to Islam? Well, Muslim convert Professor Jonathan A. C. Brown of Georgtown Uni can!

has never argued against consent being an important principle in sexual relations. “A UK judge on Thursday sentenced six Pakistani Muslims to lengthy jail terms for the systematic sexual abuse of two young British girls, aged 12 and 14, in the city of Rotherham. The youngest girl was impregnated by one of the men and even gave birth. “There’s evil and truly evil people in the world. I feel my child was the product of pure evil,” the victim declared in a statement read in court.
When the verdicts – 10 to up to 20 years in prison – were passed, the child rapists yelled

No it isn’t only the Islamists that rape but they are the only ones (I know of) to praise their god after being found guilty of such a horrific crime. Knowing the leniency of the British system these perpetrators will be out in 5 or less. There is an ANSWER to keeping these religious rapists off the streets but those in authority are too entrenched in political correctness to do it. It seems they would rather commit national suicide! “As Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and his cronies occupied themselves in the past two weeks issuing warnings to President Trump against moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, reports resurfaced concerning the brutal conditions and human rights violations in a Palestinian prison in the West Bank.
These reports, however, were buried, along with the abuse, in favor of attention to rhetoric directed against the Trump Administration. Anything uttered by Abbas and senior PA officials regarding the possible transfer of the US embassy to Jerusalem made it to the headlines of major newspapers and TV networks around the world.
- Because it is not Israelis who are perpetrating the abuse, the reports are ho-hum to these journalists.
- Hamas is an extremist Islamist movement that does not consider itself obliged to abide by international laws and treaties concerning basic human rights. Indeed, the concept of human rights simply does not exist under Hamas in the Gaza Strip, where public freedoms, including freedom of speech and of the press, are non-existent.
- In 2013, two Palestinian detainees reportedly died of torture in the Jericho Central Prison.
- A London-based human rights organization reported 3,175 cases of human rights violations, including arbitrary detentions, by the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces in the West Bank during 2016. Hundreds of those detained include university students and lecturers, as well as schoolteachers. During the same year, the PA security forces also detained 27 Palestinian journalists.
- Unfortunately for them, they are not going on hunger strikes in an Israeli prison, where such actions garner the immediate interest of the mainstream media.
