Bible
“And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valor.” (Judges 6:12)
‘Gideon was not a very promising leader to all outward appearances. He was of the undistinguished and divided tribe of Manasseh, and “my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house” (v. 15).
But that’s exactly the kind of man God knows He can use, for “God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty” (1 Corinthians 1:27). God, therefore, greeted him thus: “The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valor” (text verse).
As a matter of fact, there were other qualities in Gideon that must have commended him to God. He was already busy threshing “wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites” (v. 11). He was not sitting idly but was already doing what he could for his people. Furthermore, even though he lived in a time of great apostasy when even his own father kept an altar for the god Baal, he still worshipped the true God and was greatly exercised that “the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites” (v. 13). He was burdened for his people, but all he had been able to do was to try to feed them, hiding his wheat from the invaders. Before the Lord could use him further, however, he had to destroy the family idol and offer his own sacrifice to the true God, even though he knew his family and neighbors might try to kill him (vv. 25-32). God, then, did indeed “save Israel from the hand of the Midianites” through Gideon (v. 14).
If we would be mighty for God, like Gideon, we must begin like him: poor yet faithful, burdened for the Lord’s truth, and doing what we can—putting away every idol of the mind, and acknowledging our Savior’s sacrifice for us.’https://www.icr.org/articles/type/6
I was reared in Iowa, Middle America. Iowa, the corn state with lots of farms and farmers. I and my wife moved from Iowa in 1979 to live overseas but even though we left Iowa; Iowa never left us. We will forever be Iowans, Middle Americans! Having said that ‘You’ve got to admire the left. Granted, they own the internet, the media, the courts (apparently) and now the government, so it’s not like they’re working against insurmountable odds. But still, it’s remarkable that they’ve managed to achieve the seemingly impossible: uniting America.
I beg your pardon? Oh yes, they’ve united America — or the America that counts, anyway: the ruling class — and in the cleverest way imaginable. Instead of issuing boring platitudes like ‘we must unite for the sake of our nation’ and ‘this is not a time for stoking divisions’, they’ve found a scapegoat we can all come together in condemning. No, not Donald Trump; a good half of the country still likes him and clearly isn’t about to change its mind. No: the enemy we can all, left and right, join in deploring with equal contempt, that fearsome manifestation of unwashed humanity, the Trump supporter. At best, he’s an enabler; at worst, a domestic terrorist. (Speaking of which, who put those pipe bombs in the two parties’ headquarters? And why is there more excitement about a guy in a fur hat in the Speaker’s chair than about the fact that someone planted two bombs in government buildings?)
But we digress. The inspired thing about condemning the Trump supporter is that it forces the 99.99 percent of Trump supporters who didn’t break the law to distance themselves from their political beliefs — or share in the label of ‘domestic terrorist’ and ‘insurrectionist’. Trump supporters went to Washington on January 6 planning nothing more than to make some noise and express their displeasure with the government’s refusal to take their concerns about election integrity seriously. A few hotheads got out of hand; the police were oddly unprepared, and tragically, people died: three accidentally, due to medical emergencies caused by crowd conditions, two others because of poor decisions made in the heat of the moment. There doesn’t seem to be any evidence of a well-orchestrated plot to overthrow the United States government. Except maybe the pipe-bomb planter, who remains unidentified.
Yes, there was trespassing on the hallowed ground of government. But it’s ironic that people who have spent the last four years attacking the formerly sacrosanct office of the president of the United States with a virulence and a hatred that passes anything seen before in the history of America, literally calling for his death, disgrace, silencing and imprisonment on multiple platforms all day, every day, as the international community looked on and rejoiced at America’s weakness — these people are now getting uptight about the holy ground of government. I have heard of exactly one (1) lectern and two (2) computers reported missing from the Capitol. You’d get more stuff stolen during a fire drill at your college library.
But all that doesn’t matter. Those who like to consider themselves the ‘adults’ of America are now united in agreeing that this was a planned act of insurrection. Anyone who doesn’t agree to identify events as not the impulsive behavior of a few hotheads but a deliberate fomentation of the entire Trump movement is himself a traitor, a supporter of mob rule. The message is plain: if you don’t agree Donald Trump is responsible for this not-terribly-earthshaking act of violence, then you have no future in the leadership of America.
This is insane on so many levels. But it’s mostly insane because it is entirely without thought for the consequences. A huge percentage of America — we could call them Middle America, but it’s bigger than that — still loves Donald Trump and thinks he and they have been treated unfairly. Does today’s leadership seriously want to alienate a huge percentage of a population that already feels disenfranchised? The question is no longer — and never really has been — whether Donald Trump believes the election was fair. The question is, does America believe it was fair? And is it really a good idea to keep telling Middle America, in particular, to sit down and shut up?
The condescending and divisive language, the over-wrought name-calling, the stifling of alternate points of view — all this has to stop. 99.99 percent of Trump supporters do not support breaking the law. Their concerns need to be heard in a transparent, orderly, public fashion. But if they think they won’t be? What then? And once Donald Trump is gone, the leader they trusted, the one who gave the disenfranchised deplorables a voice and a chance to be heard — then who will deescalate, who will convince angry Middle America to walk out of the Capitol and go home? Not Joe Biden, who is now claiming that police were too gentle to the rioters because of racism — as if racism had anything to do with anything that happened on January 6.
You’ve seen on nature channels how a pack of wolves hunts caribou. In a coordinated effort, they cut off a single target animal from the herd and bring him down. Once they’re done with that one, they move on to the next. The left pretends that once the herd gives up Donald Trump, lets him be cut off and lets them devour him, they’ll be satisfied. They’re holding all of America hostage, promising that things will get better if we just hand over President Trump to their slavering jaws. Give us Trump, they imply, and life can go back to normal; the masses will sink back into their customary disengagement, and the smart people, Republican and Democrat alike, can get back to running the country. Trump is the problem! Under extreme pressure, most conservatives seem willing to agree.
But they’re listening to their emotions, not their brains. First of all, Donald Trump’s election to the presidency was the consequence of a change in American thinking, not its cause. Impeach Trump, take him down, destroy him, and all you’ve done is turn what is currently a mostly orderly, if unhappy, movement of massive proportions, into a disenfranchised and resentful mess. That’s not a problem we want to create.
Secondly, Donald Trump is not the left’s real target. We — anyone who holds conservative principles — are the target. What is there about accusations of ‘systemic’ racism, ‘systemic’ problems in America that the Republicans don’t understand? America’s system is the problem. America’s way of life is the problem. That’s what they’re after. The destruction of Donald Trump won’t satisfy them for long. The wolves will be back. And now they know that given the right pressure, we’ll throw them whoever they want.
Anyone on the right who supports the total de-platforming of the President by unelected oligarchs, anyone who expressed support for the idea of his removal via the 25th Amendment, and anyone planning to support the Democrats’ plan for impeachment this week, needs to think very, very carefully about what happens next. Because if our elected officials impeach President Trump, they will be to all intents and purposes impeaching the legitimate aspirations and the legitimate questions of millions of Americans. This is not a recipe for restoring order and unity; it’s a recipe for disaster.
Don’t blame Donald Trump for the situation we’re in. Blame the institutions that refused to hear America out. Blame the media that joined in a blanket refusal to cover the rising swell of discontent. Blame the Supreme Court who refused to hear what Middle America had to say. Blame every scribbler who indulged in some variety of the condescending and ubiquitous tautology ‘baseless allegations’. Blame social media censors who only fueled — and continue to fuel — conspiracy theories by blocking, deleting, and stifling free speech. And blame every conservative who was too foolish to see what was happening before we got to where we are.
In an interview — now removed from YouTube — with an eyewitness to Ashli Babbitt’s shooting, a journalist addresses one of the rioters outside of the Capitol, a young man from New Jersey who was standing so close to Ashli Babbitt that he got blood on his hand. Why did you enter the building, the journalist asks? I can’t quote the visibly horrified young man’s exact words, because the video has been censored. But he responds, calmly enough, that he and his fellows wanted to demand that Congress make an investigation of the election. We just wanted to be taken seriously, he says. They’re laughing at the people who voted for Trump, he says, they laugh at us on TV, they laughed at us as we marched along the street. He saw a man standing inside a window, laughing and filming as they walked by. They just wanted a fair investigation ‘…and now somebody’s shot’, he says, as if he still can’t quite believe it.
You can condemn rioting and illegal entry into the Capitol without blinding yourself to reality. It’s time to stop laughing at Middle America. It’s time to start listening, and most importantly, to start deescalating.’https://spectator.us/alienating-middle-america-capitol/
As a Baptist preacher the following is just another reason to be independent of conventions.
‘Southern Baptist Convention officials admitted it would have been better if they’d contacted Black leaders of their denomination before issuing a statement decrying critical race theory, which led to the departure of several Black pastors.
In response to weeks of reaction to the statement and a request for a meeting from the SBC’s National African American Fellowship, the denomination’s seminary presidents and fellowship leaders met on Wednesday (Jan. 6).
In late November, the leaders of the six SBC seminaries—all of them white men—declared critical race theory, a set of ideas about systemic racism with roots in Marxism, was not compatible with the statement of faith of the nation’s largest Protestant denomination.
After the presidents issued their statement, several Black church leaders announced they were leaving the mostly white denomination.
The only Black person to serve as the denomination’s president, New Orleans pastor Fred Luter, signed a statement on justice and repentance on Dec. 18. That document, initially issued by 20 Black and white SBC leaders, noted SBC progress on becoming more inclusive but added “some recent events have left many brothers and sisters of color feeling betrayed and wondering if the SBC is committed to racial reconciliation.”
Later in December, the seminary presidents told The Washington Post they regretted the statement “inadvertently caused significant hurt among some black brothers and sisters.” That was not their intention, they said, “even as we expressed our genuine concern about what we see as dangerous ideologies.”
Following Wednesday’s meeting, in a joint statement on Friday, leaders of the SBC’s National African American Fellowship and Council of Seminary Presidents said they had an “honest and open conversation” during the virtual meeting. They discussed “our various perspectives on all these issues” and vowed to continue talking.
“All of us acknowledge that conversations of this nature should have happened ahead of time,” they said in the statement. “The Council of Seminary Presidents regrets the pain and confusion that resulted from a lack of prior dialogue. Together, all of us are committed to condemn and fight racism in every form, personal and structural, in consistency with the 1995 SBC Resolution on Racial Reconciliation and the Baptist Faith and Message.”
The discussion included joint plans to sustain and increase Black student enrollment at the seminaries.
“The seminary presidents shared the conviction that CRT will not be taught at their seminaries,” the Rev. Marshal L. Ausberry Sr., president of the African American fellowship, told Baptist Press. “That’s their role to make those decisions and we can respect that.”
Danny Akin, chairman of the seminary council, told the denomination’s news service, the meeting demonstrated the “love and respect each has for one another.”
SBC Executive Committee President Ronnie Floyd and SBC President J.D. Greear also joined the meeting, which Baptist Press reported lasted for about three hours.
Greear had affirmed the seminary presidents’ original statement but also urged Southern Baptists to consider the later “Justice, Repentance, and the SBC” statement, which argued “(s)ome in the SBC appear to be more concerned with political maneuvering” than racial diversity.
He told Baptist Press these discussions “need nuance, grace and better efforts at mutual understanding” and expressed regret for the timing of the conversations.
“Our brothers and sisters of color absolutely should have been at the table—from the beginning—as we consider questions about what a Gospel-based response to racism in our country looks like,” Greear said. “I apologize for how this whole situation has made many of our brothers and sisters feel. Your voices are important in shaping our shared future.”
During the meeting, the leaders learned of the riots that had broken out when supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol. The Baptist leaders paused and prayed for the country.’https://ministrywatch.com/southern-baptist-leaders-meet-after-critical-race-theory-document-caused-controversy/
This is unreal! The Western love for liberty and freedom seems to be gone down the tube to Communism and it is going to be coming to your hometown very soon!
‘Police: “It’s against the law to say ‘Father Christmas isn’t real.” Watch footage from Christmas Eve of eight police officers arriving in Taunton town centre to shut down Christian preacher, Mike Overd, and a group of carol singers. Watch what a member of the public says to the officers at the end.
This is another example of the police misusing section 5 of the Public Order Act to suppress freedom of speech and anything that might upset members of the public.
Mike is awaiting the outcome of a legal case against Avon and Somerset police over what his lawyers describe as an ‘eight year campaign of harassment’ against him. Please pray for justice in his case.’https://christianconcern.com/news/police-its-against-the-law-to-say-father-christmas-isnt-real/
“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:27)
‘The last six words of this text have been the theme of many sermons, and surely they are worth our study, for the concept is used throughout Scripture. They also are included in the final verse of “Jesus! What a Friend for Sinners.”
Jesus! I do now receive Him,
More than all in Him I find;
Christ in me, the Hope of glory,
I am His, and He is mine.
Christ does indeed live in each believer and fills and controls as allowed by the individual. But for those filled with His abundance, He provides the certain “hope” of glory. We have assurance of salvation, adoption, grace, Spirit-filled life, and eternal glory as we are in Christ. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
Scripture specifically teaches that God loves sinners as they are and moves as a gracious “Friend” to pay the penalty for their sin. “If thou shalt…believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9).
The words “believe” and “receive,” while not the same, can often be used interchangeably in Scripture. Once we truly believe, we can receive Him, for when we believe we simultaneously receive God’s forgiveness and salvation. And we can affirm, “I am His, and He is mine.” His sweet “friendship” will last for all time.’https://www.icr.org/articles/type/6
He’s NOT my President! That is Biden IS NOT MY PRESIDENT!! Cheating in life and a fraudulent election does not give one the authority to hold a high position such as the Presidency of the United States. The votes of dead people does not mean LEGAL VOTES! Here in Australia the Sky News ran this piece; ‘President-elect Joe Biden says Donald Trump is one of the “most incompetent” presidents in US history and the “quickest” way to get him out of office is the inauguration on January 20. “I’ve been saying now for well over a year, he is not fit to serve,” Mr Biden said. “He’s one of the most incompetent presidents in the history in the United States of America. “I think that what 81 million people stood up and said is it’s time for him to go. “So, I think it’s important we get on with the business of getting him out of office. “The quickest way that will happen is us being sworn in on the 20th, what action happens before or after that is a judgement for the Congress to make, but that’s what I am looking forward to”. Mr Biden said President Trump’s indication he will not attend the inauguration on January 20 is one of the “few” things they have ever agreed on. “If we were six months out, we should be moving everything to get him out of office, impeaching him again, trying to invoke the 25th Amendment,” he said. “But I am focussed now on us taking control as president and vice president on the 20th and to get our agenda moving as quickly as we can”./https://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6221369502001?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Daily%20Sky%20News%20Australia%20%20Newsletter&utm_content=Daily%20Sky%20News%20Australia%20%20Newsletter+CID_196c8a394312caf099cf1e4a2d84019e&utm_source=Daily%20newsletter&utm_term=Donald%20Trump%20is%20one%20of%20the%20most%20incompetent%20presidents%20in%20US%20history%20Biden
Biden is an old man with dementia. Harris will be the real President whether Biden is in the WH or the old folks home and she will be ruling with her Marxist ideas being implemented with haste. The Demoncrats and Biden/Harris will sell the USA to China on a platter. America’s middle class will soon be a thing of the past. America must get right with God the Creator! That is the God of the Scriptures, the Holy Bible. What was true of old Israel is true of America and Australia. We have accepted sin as normal and godliness as radical! What God said in 2Chronicles 7:14 is as true today as when He said it and that is If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Genesis 5:2 “He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.”

‘“God created them male and female.” That simple phrase heaps a world of problems on those who believe in evolution.
Evolutionists tell us that in the early stages, evolution would have produced creatures that reproduce without the need for male and female. They then suppose that some mutation would have produced the gender differences, but what advantage would these differences offer? Quite the contrary, these differences would be a disadvantage and become quickly selected out. An even more serious problem is that, according to evolution’s history of life, the male and female sexes must have developed in different kinds of creatures dozens of times.
No one has the slightest idea how one or a dozen mutations could have produced male and female. To change a creature from having no gender into a male or a female requires developing several new organs, changing some others, creating entire, new hormone systems, and changing others. New organs and systems would have to be immediately integrated into the workings of the rest of the body. In addition, the independently developed male changes would have to work with the independently developed female changes. Changes would also have to be made in the brains of the new creatures so that they would want to mate with each other. And evolutionists tell us this must have happened dozens of times!
Yes, that simple phrase “God created them male and female” leaves evolution with an imponderable mystery. This mystery is solved easily by God’s Word. What a mistake it is to say that the Bible is obsolete in our modern scientific era!’https://creationmoments.com/sermons/the-mystery-of-male-and-female-2/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=the-mystery-of-male-and-female-2&mc_cid=3998c31a98&mc_eid=00c1dcff3c
If cheating will win a Presidential election why will it not allow you to play football? This will make you proud to be an American!
‘The United States Military Academy, commonly known as West Point, cited a number of athletes, including football players, for cheating on a spring 2020 calculus exam.
But university officials suspended its own rules to allow football players to play in games this season, including a bowl game.
The public military university has a rule against violators of its honor code from representing the university.
“We delayed it [the rule] until final adjudication,” Christopher Ophardt, West Point spokesperson, told USA Today. The newspaper reported that some athletes were found in violation of the honor code on November 30, a month before the New Year’s Eve bowl game against Liberty University. The university decided in October to suspend the rule.
A December 30 letter addressed to alumni from Darryl Williams, the superintendent of West Point, explained the scandal. Williams made the decision to allow the football players to take the field, according to USA Today.’https://www.thecollegefix.com/west-point-leadership-allows-football-players-who-cheated-on-exams-to-play-in-bowl-game/
I live overseas but I am still an American and it is so sad to see what has just transpired. The cheating and mafia style of politics that the USA has allowed to occur is unbelievable but not unpredictable. We have voted in every Presidential election but this just may be our last. Why vote when cheating has become the norm. Why vote when a man who shows signs of dementia and a vice president that is an out and out socialist/Marxist at the very least will be given full reign under a Demoncrat Congress! I remember when Communist Russia held elections and the outcome was known before it happened. That’s what America now is!
We sing GOD BLESS AMERICA but I believe God has turned His back on America. God cannot bless a nation that has turned its back on Him. Sadly, Christians are to blame for some of this and perhaps most of it. The churches have thrown God and His Word out. Psychology has replaced theology! Therefore, sodomy and same sex so called marriage is just one of the many things that are now accepted by many who call themselves a Christian. However, this is an offense to a holy God. Then there is the teaching of evolution as though it is a proven fact of science. It is NOT a proven fact. Oh, and when I speak of God I speak of the Creator God found in Scripture that brought all that we see around us into being about ten thousand years ago according to the first Book of the Bible, Genesis! One does not have to understand every facet of every science to believe the Genesis account and what the Apostle wrote in Colossians 1:16, 17 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Oh, and by the way there are a many many scientists that have earned doctorates in various scientific fields who believe in the veracity of the Book of Genesis and other Scriptures such as the one just quoted from Colossians.
Not only have the sodomites and evolutionists been accepted as normal but now those who holler ‘follow the science’ tell us there are more than two genders! This is another fairytale that sprouts when God is mocked and thrown out of a society. What will the American society be like in four years after the Devilcrats have finished? Young people will be so confused that there will be so much mental ‘illness’ that the society once known by those who were born in the 40’s and 50’s will be no more.
Well, you the reader must know the future does not look bright! The China virus, more lockdowns, mask wearing all the time and more travel restrictions are just a sample of what lies ahead in a Biden/Harris world. If a political party will cheat to win an election what will it do after it gains power!? More could be said but is anyone listening? Therefore, I will close with a saying by a man who was a very close friend to the Creator; Even so, come, Lord Jesus Revelation 22:20 .
