Dr Peter Ridd is the former ‘…professor who was sacked by James Cook University after disagreeing with findings by some of his colleagues about the Great Barrier Reef. He is now seeking to appeal his dismissal in the High Court of Australia.
Dr Ridd’s research suggests that some studies claiming the Great Barrier Reef is dying are unreliable. However, such unreliability is no surprise.
A few years ago, a survey by the respected science journal Nature found that more than 70% of researchers have tried and failed to reproduce another scientist’s experiments. A majority of those surveyed agreed that there is a “crisis of reproducibility”.
And last week we saw yet another example of untrustworthy science, this time on transgender treatment.
The Australian (12/8/20) reported that the prestigious American Journal of Psychiatry has had to publish an extraordinary correction to a 2019 US-Swedish paper.
This widely praised, peer-reviewed paper had claimed that transgender surgery – such as breast removal or genital reconstruction – reduced the need for mental health treatment. This claimed benefit of transgender surgery has been used to push for easier access to such treatment.
Dr Michelle Telfer, clinic director at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne has argued that mastectomies improve the mental health of “trans boys”. Lobbying by Telfer succeeded in securing funding of $6 million from the Andrews government in Victoria to cut waiting times for treatment.
But last month, the American journal retracted this claim. It published a correction, an editorial and letters from a dozen psychiatrists, clinicians and researchers in four countries. They identified multiple flaws in the 2019 paper. Faced with the criticisms, the authors of the original paper acknowledged that “the results demonstrated no advantage of surgery” for subsequent mental health.
As a leading researcher pointed out, the 2019 paper had ignored post-surgery suicides!
The correction has come not a moment too soon. The original US-Swedish paper had been hailed by Australian trans activists in their campaign to achieve full Medicare cover for all trans surgery.
Treatment guidelines from the Melbourne Royal Children’s Hospital transgender clinic argue for trans breast removal for girls as young as 16 with gender dysphoria (distressed by their biological sex).
This campaign comes at a time when the number of gender dysphoric children seeking treatment is rising faster than ever before. The spike in cases may be linked to “copycat” pressures from social media. Many of these children have autistic traits.

If Sleepy Joe wins the 2020 Presidential election America is done! Anyone with any sense at all knows ‘Politicians and babies both need to be changed often and for the same reason, and Americans will be attempting to make changes in November. America’s future depends on what change if any, we make at the voting booth. And the results will depend on whether we go to the polls or mail in a ballot. The long-honored absentee ballot is generally safe, but a massive mail-in vote is an engraved invitation for vote corruption.
Often, a politician may indicate a need for a change, but in reality, it’s only a bad odor. Not yet. While it might be premature to change a baby’s diaper impulsively, it might be perilous to do the same for a politician. Hence, the need to not be hasty in the November election.
While there are thousands of hopeful politicians on the ballots, the most vital is the presidential race, but does that position need to be changed?
We have a choice of Donald Trump who has a checkered past bedding various women but who has kept many of his promises he made to us. In that, he is a very unusual politician. For me, this is a replay of 2016—choosing the one who will do less damage, stabilize our economy, keep the baby butchers at bay, return peace to our cities, keep China behind her famous wall—without bankrupting our nation.
His vice-president Mike Pence is a good man. After caving to the LGBTQ tyrants in Indiana pre-election, he has done better than any other politician in standing for family and morality. While he could be more forceful, we all know the LGBTQ crowd specializes in bullying, badgering, and blackmailing decent opponents. He has done a respectable job with the other chores Trump assigned him.
As an Independent, that is the team I will vote for again, understanding that no candidate is perfect. I decided not to run this time.
The other ticket is abysmal, and it is difficult to understand how any honest American could put them in office. Joe Biden has a history of plagiarism, lying, very loose hands around girls and women, fanatically desirous of grabbing every gun in America and putting us in debt quadrillions of dollars. Biden is the description of a Throttlebottom—an innocuously inept and futile person in public office.
Biden is pathetic and surely will only get the sympathy vote and maybe his wife’s.
Kamala Harris is his choice for Vice-President, and she has a record that is far, far left. She is the most radical U.S. Senator. She climbed to power in California with the help of her lover Willie Brown, thirty years her senior and Speaker of the House in California. Brown has been separated from his wife since 1976 (but not divorced), and Kamala is only one of many women with whom he fornicated. Her appointed job required no credentials, no work, and she was “paid the equivalent of a full-time [state] senator for arriving at a one- to two-hour meeting each month.”
A Republican member of the state assembly at the time said, “Screwing the speaker has its rewards. Stevie Wonder could have seen through that play.” However, whatever hours she has logged in bed, she is far more dangerous to America than Hillary.
Senator Harris went after Judge Kavanaugh relentlessly like a pit bull going after a porterhouse steak. She believed the unsupported, unreal, and unchaste charges because “a woman would never lie about such a thing.” Now that it is to her benefit, she refuses to believe the senate aide’s accusation of Biden—because it is in her interest not to believe.
There is little benefit of listing all the decadent, dangerous, and deadly positions Kamala has taken; however, her willingness to be on the ticket with Biden, who has refused to answer a charge of sexual abuse, shows her lack of character. She has always played to the gallery and reverses positions to meet her immediate needs. During the primary race, she believed Joe was guilty of sexual abuse of his senate aide Tara Reade. Now, she is partnered with a predator! That used to be known as being two-faced and would require her spending extra time each day putting makeup on her two faces.
Before the Never-Trumpers and Hate-Trumpers remind us again of Trump’s aggressive, appalling, and adulterous affairs, he never slept around to his political or monetary advantage. However, moral issues do not seem to concern most people.
On the political issues alone, the Biden-Harris ticket would literally destroy America! So, the choice is simple.
America deserves and must have more decent, qualified, honest officials. Still, mail-in-voting will only make a bad problem even worse, allowing into office many incompetent, indecent, and ignominious scalawags and lowlifes. It is no surprise our cities, states, and nation are a mess.
Headlines on July 24, 2020, in USSA News screamed, “Democratic Ex-Congressman Charged With Rigging Votes, Bribery, Falsifying Records And Obstruction.” The article revealed that a former congressman had been charged by the federal government with ballot stuffing, bribery, and obstruction. Michael Myers, 77, was charged with conspiring with and bribing a former elections judge in Philadelphia to add votes to favored candidates over several elections.
Yet, we are told over and over that voting fraud is no problem, but public facts disprove that.
According to Judicial Watch’s analysis of data released by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) this year, “there are 378 counties nationwide that have more voter registrations than citizens living there and old enough to vote.” I’m math deficient, but I don’t think that is possible.
“According to one study, by News21, there have been 2,068 cases of alleged election fraud since 2000.” Yet, Democrats declare there is very little election fraud!
Electronic voting was supposed to improve the election process in making voting more efficient, quicker, and less fraud, but Rhode Island voters uncovered fraud. Rock Island County Republican voters gathered outside of the Rock Island County Clerk’s office on Friday, October 24, alleging a voting machine switched their vote. “Voters said when they selected a candidate on the electronic voting machine, the machine would switch their vote to the opposing candidate.” Is that fraud, or is it failure since Democrats had the same problem?
Voting machines are not as reliable as touted to be according to the Salina Journal on November 26, 2014 issue. “A malfunction of electronic voting equipment left 5,207 votes out of the original Nov. 4 Saline County, Kansas vote total.”
Brad Friedman of the very liberal Huffington Post admitted, “What we have here is an extraordinarily compelling case that our electoral system has gone terribly wrong…We’ve got one election after another that makes no sense whatsoever. They may have been rigged, they may have failed due to error – (but because they can’t be audited) it’s 100 percent faith-based voting.” This is the reason we now print out our machine ballot in Georgia, sign, and deposit it.
Recently, a local television station experimented with vote-by-mail, and it exposed the deficiencies of the system. WRDW in Philadelphia sent 100 “mock ballots” from across the city to a post office box set up specifically for the test. The results showed 21 percent of the votes hadn’t been delivered within the same city after four days. Some mailed a week prior were also missing.
The Times report goes on to reveal voter corruption in Texas, Indiana, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. Yet, dishonest, desperate, and distressed Democrats keep telling us that there is no problem with voter fraud.
On August 8, the media reported, “more than 223,000 mail-in ballots sent to registered voters in Clark County, Nevada, were bounced as “undeliverable” in the state’s June primary election, newly released data reveals.”
Also, on August 8, the New York City Board of Elections disqualified 84,208 vote-by-mail ballots in the June 23 Democratic presidential primary, “according to a report cited Wednesday evening by the New York Post.”
It is obvious to anyone deaf, dumb, and blind that mail-in-voting is not reliable. So, even the most rabid Democrat can understand that fact.
The Washington Times reported on voter fraud in Virginia. “A study by the watchdog Public Interest Legal Foundation found in just eight Virginia counties, 1,046 alien non-citizens successfully registered to vote.” But it gets worse. “Nearly 43,000 voters in Pennsylvania had potentially duplicate registrations in either Pennsylvania or other states.”
Another longtime problem, especially among Democrats, is the strange determination of dead people to vote. The Times reported on this phenomenon: “A report in Denver exposed multiple incidents in recent years where dead Coloradans were still voting.” But then, dead Democrats have been voting in Chicago for decades.
This November election, because of the hatred of Donald Trump, there will be massive problems: lost ballots, stolen ballots, late ballots, machine failures, machine malfunction, intimidation, multiple votes from the same people, alien voters, and of course, many dead people will rise and vote—all Democrats.
This week the Detroit News reported that Michigan clerks rejected 846 mailed ballots during the August 4 primary “because the voter was dead.” But the Democrats keep saying there is little voter fraud.
I just heard the shocking, surprising, and even startling news that my lifetime Republican cousin in Cook County, Illinois, is voting Democrat this November. But it would never happen if he were still alive.

Alas, there is more truth than humor in that apocryphal incident. With vote-by-mail making it even easier for the dead to vote, we could be on a downward slide into the darkest days of our republic.
CNN opined, there is very, very little evidence of any sort of widespread voter fraud in the country.” They chastised Trump for declaring vote-by-mail would result in cheating, pointing out that he had voted absentee ballot. Absentee voting is no problem, but there is a huge difference in that and everyone voting by mail. It has even been stated that ballots be provided for every person in the country, with no mention of citizenship or age. Or voter registration. It is an engraved invitation for illegal voting.

While almost everyone in the Western world has heard the name George Floyd the name of Cannon Hinnant of Wilson, NC isn’t. Why? Perhaps because he was only five and white! ‘The 5-year-old boy who was shot to death outside his father’s home in Wilson, North Carolina has been laid to rest.
Witnesses told police that Cannon Hinnant was riding a bike when his father’s neighbor walked up to him and shot him in the head in front of his two sisters, ages 8 and 7.
Capt. Steve Stroud with the Wilson Police Department said officers and emergency personnel performed first aid before the boy was taken to Wilson Medical Center, where he died.

“They were just playing in the yard like any other day,” Austin Hinnant, Cannon’s father, told WRAL.
A neighbor, who told WRAL she witnessed the shooting from her window, said Sessoms ran up to Cannon and put the gun to his head before running back into his own home. She called 911 after seeing Austin’s reaction.
“The first thing that went through my mind was maybe he just fell off his bike,” Austin said after he heard gunshots. “The closer I got to him, the more I realized it was something far more serious.”

Police said 25-year-old Darius Nathaniel Sessoms was arrested Monday. He’s charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
Austin told the news station that Sessoms had been over to his home the day before, sat on his porch and drank beer, and they have lived next to each other for eight years.
“The Lord says to love our neighbor. I have plenty of food to go around. I just wanted to be nice,” Hinnant said. “There wasn’t anything between me and him, any bad blood whatsoever, for him to have a reason to do this.”
After Cannon was shot, Austin said he scooped him up into his arms and screamed.

“I screamed, ‘Somebody, please help me save my son! Help me save my son, please,'” he told WRAL. “[You] can’t imagine what it’s like to hold your son in your arms with a gunshot wound to the head, and his blood is running down your arms.”
Austin said he doesn’t know why Sessoms killed Cannon and police have not released any details as to a possible motive.
During Cannon’s funeral Thursday, his youth pastor and grandfather talked about his big smile and his even bigger heart.
“Cannon was the type of kid that was always polite kind of laid back but he was a beautiful little kid,” Merrill Race, his grandfather told WRAL. “I’m glad that people are showing up and coming out and show they got his back and they care, we need more of this and less of this hate.”
Family, friends, and pastors said they are trying to help lift up Cannon’s family as they wait for answers in Cannon’s death.
“The only thing I keep thinking of is a scripture that comes to my heart Psalm 34:18 that says God is close to the broken hearted,” said Bobby Harrell, the campus pastor of Wave Church in Wilson. “That’s what I want people to know when we are hurting God longs to be close to us.”

A candlelight vigil was set for Friday, but the family has postponed it.
Sessoms’ parents told WRAL they are deeply saddened about what happened and believe he was on drugs and having hallucinations.
A GoFundMe, created for the Hinnant family, shows Cannon was set to start kindergarten this year. GRAND CHUTE – Fox Valley Technical College’s longtime spokesman has resigned, days after social media posts critical of Black Lives Matter and warning of Islam infiltrating every nation came to light.
In a statement provided to The Post-Crescent on Tuesday, FVTC President Susan May said Chris Jossart, manager of media relations, resigned effective Monday and was “relieved of his duties immediately.”
“Our institution remains committed to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion that offers opportunity for all students, employees, and our communities,” May wrote.
May declined an interview with The Post-Crescent on Tuesday, calling the incident a “personnel matter.”
Jossart, who had served as the college’s spokesman for nearly 15 years, declined to comment when contacted by a reporter Tuesday morning. He said his lawyer would release a statement later in the day.
The comments that led to Jossart’s resignation were posted on his public LinkedIn page over the last month. LinkedIn is a social media platform primarily used for employment connections and professional networking.
While FVTC “respects the free speech rights of its employees,” the college’s social media policy states they’re expected to exercise “good judgement and discretion” on social media, and warns that “conduct that would not be considered acceptable in the workplace is not acceptable online.”…
On Friday, Jossart called the Black Lives Matter movement “a disgrace” in response to an article about two Black, pro-life activists being arrested outside an abortion clinic. The same day, he commented, “Yes, get rid of the anti-American filth causing cancer to our nation,” on a post about Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, who is a Muslim.
Responding to a LinkedIn post of an opinion article from The Jerusalem Post, Jossart on Thursday commented, “Islam is all over the world infiltrating every nation, and (Joe) Biden wants their beliefs in our already tainted public school curriculum.”…
Jossart’s posts caught the attention of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization. On Tuesday, the Council on American-Islamic Relations welcomed Jossart’s resignation after it raised concerns about his “Islamophobic, anti-Black Lives Matter and other offensive comments online.”

As an American living overseas it is interesting to view the USA political scene from afar. From my perspective the Loony Left seem to be getting so far afield it is hard for normal thinking people to comprehend them.
‘Hollywood exemplifies desperation and utter ideological servitude when they worship the ground that failed 2020 presidential candidate-turned 2020 Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris walks. Yeah, so what if her record as San Fran DA contradicts BLM demands? She’s the woman of color VP nom we were all promised.
After the left-wing candidate was announced as Biden’s running mate, famous Hollywood fools went into ecstasy. Though, after all, how could any of them brave giving a less-than-enthusiastic, much less, critical response to a woman of color VP nod? Despite the fact that she represents everything gross and totalitarian about the far left, she fits the gender/racial politics profile that party wants.
Thus we get a sensitive lefty man-child like Disney star Josh Gad talking about tears of “joy” at the announcement. The Sleeping Beauty actor was that excited about the Kamala Harris news that he actually tweeted, “I am crying with joy!!!!” Ah, yes, Kamala inducing tears of joy. That enthusiasm sure was present during her presidential run.
Trump hater extraordinaire Patton Oswalt provided Kamala with some serious lip service in the wake of the announcement, virtually high-fiving Biden over picking someone that could smash Pence on the debate stage, allegedly. Patton tweeted, “Not cool, Joe. You know Pence can’t be alone onstage to debate Harris. Why put that poor, frail flower through all this angst?” Oh right, and we’re sure Tim Kaine felt the same way as Pence calmly waved through his defense of Hillary last cycle.
Star Wars star Mark Hamill made a prediction immediately after the news, tweeting that Kamala will be “The next Vice President of the United States of America.” That’s bold. Remember when Hillary’s staff tweeted, “Happy Birthday to this future president” before she won? Hopefully this is one of those accidents.
Rob Reiner added to his collection of stupid tweets for the week with one saying, “Finally a Presidential ticket that looks like America!!” Oh, that’s interesting. So America looks like a gaffe-prone old man and a progressive, pro-abort San Francisco DA who detests conservatives.
Reiner added, “Now we all go to work to restore the soul of our Nation. VOTE!!!!” Again, what about this radical leftist ticket is restorative of anything?
Actress Kerry Washington provided some hype for the Biden/Harris ticket, mostly on the grounds of race. The Scandal actress tweeted, “Overwhelmed by this historic moment. @KamalaHarris is the first Black woman & first Asian-American/Indian to be a VP nominee of a major party.” Washington added, “My heart is soaring for all the kids out there who see themselves in her and will dream bigger because of this.”
Though this seems slightly ironic for someone like Washington who supports Black Lives Matter but then tells African American kids they’ll look up to Harris. Harris’ lack of popularity among Democrat voters has been tied to her tough stance on criminal justice.

When BLM protestors can invade a gated community and terrorize the homeowners but the homeowners are the ones going to court to defend themselves SOMETHING terrible is wrong! Democrat ‘St. Louis Circuit Court Attorney Kimberly Gardner accused the McCloskeys, who are defendants in a case Gardner is prosecuting, of turning the legal proceedings into “political theater” after they motioned to have her removed from the case.
The attorney for Mark and Patricia McCloskey, Joel Schwartz, filed a motion on July 29 to have Gardner barred from prosecuting their case after Gardner referenced the case in two campaign emails, one sent before charges were filed and one after. Gardner’s response to the McCloskeys was filed under seal but released to the public over the weekend by the St. Louis Circuit Court, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Gardner pushed back against Schwartz’s assertion that the campaign emails carried “the appearance of impropriety,” that Gardner “may have been affected by her personal, political, financial, and professional interests, and that her neutrality, judgement, and ability to administer law in an objective manner may have been compromised.”
Gardner asserted that the campaign emails were not sent out in an effort to benefit from the high-profile case but in response to Republican attacks against her in the press over her decision to investigate the McCloskeys, and then over her decision to charge them with gun use violations for threatening protesters who had broken into the McCloskeys’ private, gated neighborhood.
Gardner’s 23-page filing reads in part:
Nothing in either of the two campaign emails the Defendant complains about approaches the type or level of misconduct needed to remove the Circuit Attorney or her entire office. The Defendants make no argument of an actual conflict of interest that would require the prosecutor to be removed from the case. (Def. Mot. at 6). Their argument of an “appearance of impropriety” falls flat when evaluated against the necessary standard to remove a prosecutor and an application of that standard to any reasonable review of all the facts. Applying the legal standard, this Court must therefore deny the motion and must instruct the defense to cease its attempts to turn these criminal proceedings into political theater.
Schwartz dismissed Gardner’s rebuttal in a message to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, saying that the filing “is not on point.” In the filing, Gardner references criticisms leveled against her by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley, and others to justify the emails.
“Amongst other issues, she spends multiple pages detailing the complaints of various politicians and anonymous commentators,” Schwartz said. “They are not parties, they are not the prosecutor, and she should understand the difference. We plan on addressing her response in the near future.”
Gardner sent out fundraising emails before and after July 20 when she charged McCloskeys. The emails make reference to “the couple who brandished guns during a peaceful protest” and accuse Republicans and “the right-wing media” of weaponizing the incident to attack and discredit Black Lives Matter.
