While Democrats, not surprisingly, oppose the South Carolina Republican on most issues, they refuse to acknowledge that his announcement’s warm reception among Republicans shows that black Americans Have Overcome or, at least, Are Overcoming.

Citing “systemic racism,” Joy Behar of ABC’s “The View,” said that Scott “doesn’t get it. Neither does [Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas], and that’s why they’re Republicans.”

A new Washington Post-Ipsos poll of 1,200 “non-Hispanic Black adults” asked whether President Biden’s policies helped, hurt, or made no difference to black people. Almost half — 49 percent — picked “made no difference.” Ouch. When they displayed this poll result on CNN’s Inside Politics on Thursday, I had to joke on Twitter that this poll would probably be buried inside the paper:

If wild weather and heavy seas weren’t enough to contend with, oceangoing vessels now have thousands of 300 tonne wind turbine towers to dodge and avoid. Recently a German cargo ship the Petra L, came off second-best when it failed to do so. After colliding with one of these giant whirling wonders, the vessel was left with a hole in her hull the size of a barn door. Fortunately, the boat stayed afloat and no one was killed or injured (this time).

America First Legal says that over 600 pages of documents obtained in a public records lawsuit show the State Department’s Global Engagement Center worked with privately owned media organizations to tout government propaganda.

Among those named in the documents are The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal, and PolitiFact.
