  1. Interestingly, Haman was an Agagite which were Amalakites, who were the very ones Saul was supposed to kill. Because of his disobedience to Gods Word, the Israelites have continued to suffer persecution at their hands.

These are some notes from a sermon I’ve preached in the past:

    • David had to fight a remnant of the Amalekites (I Sam. 27:8) and again (I Sam. 30:1)

    • The Amalekites burn David’s city and take their wives, and their sons, and their daughters captive (I Sam. 30:3), including David’s two wives (v.5). This caused great distress and weeping among David and his men. The men even wanted to stone David for getting their families into this mess. But where did it really start? By Gods grace and power “David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.” (v.18). David goes on to slaughter many of the Amalekites (II Sam. 1:1).

    • An Amalekite tells David that he killed King Saul (II Sam. 1:4-16). He has no fear of touching God’s anointed, and David has him killed.

    • Later, the Amalekites were fought again (I Ch. 4:43).

The hours speak to the centuries. But one day they will be all killed (Ps. 83).
