Rural Americans keep rejecting wind projects. On May 5, commissioners in Crawford County, Ohio voted 2-1 in favor of a measure that prohibits the construction of wind projects in the county. The move halts a 300-megawatt project being promoted by Apex Clean Energy called Honey Creek Wind.

The Crawford County vote matters for several reasons. First, it provides yet another example of the backlash in rural America against the landscape-blighting encroachment of giant wind turbines; and those rejections are piling up. The vote in Crawford County marks the 330^th time that government entities from Maine to Hawaii have rejected or restricted wind projects since 2015. Today, there is a lost reality that the primary usage of crude oil is NOT for the generation of electricity, but to manufacture derivatives and fuels which are the ingredients of everything needed by economies and lifestyles to exist and prosper. Energy realism requires that the legislators, policymakers, media and the investment community begin to understand the staggering scale of the decarbonization movement.

Of the three fossil fuels, the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) community is unaware that crude oil is not used for electricity. In fact, crude oil is virtually useless, unless it is manufactured (by refineries) into oil derivatives that are the basis of more than 6,000 products in our daily lives that did not exist before the 1900s, and the fuels to move the heavy-weight and long-range needs of aircraft, cruise and merchant ships, and the military and space program.

In a move designed to push back against the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies of big financial institutions, Oklahoma has adopted legislation that will require the Sooner State to divest from any financial company that boycotts the fossil fuel industry.

The Energy Discrimination Elimination Act of 2022 (House Bill 2034) requires the state treasurer to maintain and provide to each state governmental entity a list of financial companies that boycott energy companies. The state governmental entity must then notify the treasurer of the listed financial companies in which they own direct or indirect holdings. They must also send a written notice to the financial institution, warning that it may become subject of divestment.

Under the new law, a state governmental entity must rid itself of at least 50 percent of the assets of a listed financial institution within 180 days of the financial company’s…

The miserable misanthropes and neo-Marxists reckon that fossil fuels are an evil to be driven back to the depths from whence they came. Except, of course, when it comes to their own selfish energy needs.

Spend a week gathering dung and twigs to cook meals over a smoky fire in an unlit hut, and you’ll soon be screaming for fossil fuels.

A propane-burning stove soon eliminates the smoke, soot and particulates that cause lung disease and more.

Cheap and reliable electricity is better still. For development economists, it’s seen as the catalyst for modernity, paving the way for the mechanization and industrialisation that allows the impoverished to escape the daily drudgery and misery of a life without reliable energy.

The Biden administration didn’t create a Ministry of Truth. We don’t have governmental ministries here in the United States. That’s a British thing. We have departments and boards.

The Biden administration announced on Wednesday that it’s putting a “pause” on its new Disinformation Governance Board. The new agency, announced in April, was to operate under the Department of Homeland Security and would be tasked with “countering misinformation related to homeland security, focused specifically on irregular migration and Russia.”

The administration was unclear about what the role and scope of the disinformation board would be. Would, for example, having the “wrong” opinion soon be considered a national security threat worthy of censorship?

Who knows?

The one thing that’s clear…

Incapable of delivering power as and when we need it, wind and solar are utterly pointless as power sources. But, as a source of insatiable demand for the Planet’s (purportedly) dwindling resources they are first rate.

Wind turbines and solar panels devour scarce resources and provide nothing much in return. Their insatiable mineral demand (and not just the rare stuff) is just another matter that the wind and sun cult couldn’t care less about.
