While they were in the majority, Pennsylvania House Republicans spent their political capital to advance American energy independence, free speech rights, and scientific integrity.

Unlike too many their counterparts in Washington D.C., they were not cowed by hostile press coverage or well-funded pressure groups that have a stake in undermining sound science. Most recently, for instance, the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee held a hearing this fall exploring the benefits of fossil fuels and pitfalls of “emergency declarations” advanced in the name of climate change.

Since Gov. Tom Wolf, the state’s outgoing Democratic governor, first announced back in October 2019 that he was taking executive action to combat climate change, Republican leaders have held a series of hearings calling attention to scientific data that debunks climate alarmism. They have also worked in partnership with Pennsylvania Democrats representing the energy sector to prevent Wolf from circumventing…

When The New York Times respectfully touts a man’s faith, he must be a leftist. Strange respect for religion reigned over the front page of Thursday’s paper for Sen. Raphael Warnock, the reverend who recently won reelection in Georgia runoff. The complimentary headline was “Warnock’s Rise Fueled by Pain, Faith and Flair.”

The Times has found its latest left-wing “rising star,” as revealed in the fawning profile by Katie Glueck, “Raphael Warnock Is a Pastor and Politician Who Sees Voting as Prayer — Raphael Warnock, a son of Savannah public housing who rose to become Georgia’s first Black senator, secured a full six-year term and a spot among Democrats’ rising stars.”

Religion is fine and good if it can be compared to progressive political action and Democrat election victories:

Their self-inflated ‘virtue’ has a price, and you’re paying it, every red cent of it. That last jaw-dropping power bill has their fingerprints all over it. So do the occasions when thousands are left sitting freezing or boiling in the dark; when cash-strapped businesses are forced to sack staff to cut their overheads so they cover their escalating power bills; when struggling families are forced to choose between food on the table and light and power.

The moment when neo-Marxist ideologues grabbed the tiller and engineers were relegated to the pages of history, things were never going to pan out all that well for power consumers.

The destruction of reliable and affordable power supplies was inevitable; but that result was as perfectly predictable, as it was perfectly avoidable.

Twelve Republicans in the Senate and 39 Republicans in the House treated the Respect for Marriage Act like it was no big deal. It is a huge deal.

As the grand wind and solar ‘transition’ descends into a calamitous farce, nuclear power is now being taken seriously, at long last.

That Australia, one of the world’s largest uranium exporters, doesn’t rely on nuclear power astonishes those from the 30 countries where you’ll find nearly 450 nuclear reactors currently operating – including the French, Americans, Canadians, Japanese and Chinese. Another 15 countries are currently building 60 reactors among them. Nuclear power output accounts for over 11% of global electricity production. But not a lick of it in Australia.

One reason for the reticence is the long-standing myth that nuclear power generation is inherently deadly. Not that there’s a shred of evidence to support the meme; irrational fears often trump coolheaded reason.

The French get around 80% of their power from nuclear plants and haven’t suffered so much as a scratch since they started in 1962. By contrast, the wind…

Two days after the Arizona Republican Party requested an investigation, the state’s GOP attorney general isn’t saying whether his office will look into specific actions of Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs, a Democrat.

“Hobbs, acting in her official capacity, using state resources, and at times in coordination with the Biden administration, asked Twitter to remove posts on her behalf,” Arizona’s Republican Party chairwoman argues. This morning, Joe Biden said of Griner, “She’s safe. She’s on a plane. She’s on her way home.” However, American Paul Whelan, a former Marine serving 16 years in a harsh Russian penal colony, is not safe and is not coming home. He was arrested by Russia for alleged espionage in 2018. It’s no surprise that Biden failed a high-profile veteran. He left Americans behind in Afghanistan, too, just last year.
