American Minute with Bill Federer

Presidents’ Day is actually Washington’s birthday, recognized by an Act of Congress for government offices in Washington, D.C., in 1879, and for all federal offices in 1885.

In 1971, the Uniform Monday Holiday Act to create more three day weekends moved the observance of Washington’s birthday to the third Monday in February.
As Abraham Lincoln was also born in February, so many States include him in the observance, and still other States include all the Presidents.
George Washington was born FEBRUARY 22, 1732.
He was:
- unanimously chosen as the Army’s Commander-in-Chief;
- unanimously chosen as President of the Constitutional Convention;
- unanimously chosen as the first U.S. President;
- unanimously re-elected to a second term.
George Washington was an Anglican, and, after the Revolution, an Episcopalian.
George’s great-great-grandfather,Rev. Lawrence Washington, was an Anglican minister who taught at Oxford.

On NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday, host Scott Simon sounded like state-run radio as he touted Biden’s latest physical showed “a strong and vigorous man” as Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley “openly played the age card” in her announcement. NPR political analyst Ron Elving insisted “any kind of dissing of old folks is a risky strategy and likely to backfire.” Liberals parade around their hopes as “news.”
It began like this:
SIMON: White House released results of the president’s annual medical exam this week. This is a strong and vigorous man.
ELVING: Yes. Low cholesterol, decent blood pressure, good BMI – something we could all envy.
“We could all envy…decent blood pressure?” The “good BMI” line could be a knock on Donald Trump.
Elving shamelessly touted Biden’s lies about Republicans wanting to “sunset” Social Security and Medicare as just “new restraints.” Restraints would be accurate, but that’s…

He delivered an address to the nation yesterday, stating how he got really tough vis-à-vis the Chinese spy balloon.
President Biden is really proud of himself, and he wants everyone to know it. He delivered an address to the nation yesterday, stating how he got really tough… after watching a communist Chinese spy balloon take off, drift across the Pacific, enter U.S. airspace over Alaska, move into Montana and cross the continental United States.
Biden told the American people that he shot down three additional objects, although we have no idea what they were. Seriously — he literally said that.
“We don’t yet know exactly what these three objects were,” Biden said. “The intelligence community’s current assessment is that these three objects were most likely balloons tied to private companies, recreation or research institutions studying the weather.”
So, just to be clear, he waited days to…

Wish Australia’s leftist climate scamming politicians would WAKE UP!!!
Vlad Putin can’t be blamed for blanketing Germany’s millions of solar panels in snow and ice, or freezing solid their 30,000 wind turbines. Nor can Vlad be convicted for this (and every previous) winter’s long periods of gloomy, windless weather – ‘dunkelflaute’, as Germans call it.
No, Germany’s current energy catastrophe is the perfectly predictable consequence of perfectly avoidable government policy. The German government called their grand wind and solar transition the ‘Energiewende’; anyone gifted with common sense and reason deemed it ‘delusional’.
And so it’s come to pass: Germans are now suffering Europe’s highest power prices and are lucky to have power, at all. Power rationing is a regular feature of German daily life; faced with that debilitating prospect, heavy industry and manufacturing businesses are heading to the USA, or Singapore, where power prices are a mere fraction of those suffered at home.
