Sleepy, Creepy, Hair sniffing ‘President Joe Biden’s choice for the interim lead of the Employment and Training Administration, former Washington state Employment Security Department (ESD) Commissioner Suzi LeVine, reportedly lost $600 million in coronavirus relief funds to Nigerian scammers in her previous position.
LeVine began her job on Monday at the federal workforce agency helping oversee unemployment benefits in the coronavirus relief packages.
The Federalist reports that LeVine’s department lost the funds to an infamous group of Nigerian scammers called “Scattered Canary” according to the U.S. Secret Service. Washington state was targeted by the “well-organized Nigerian fraud ring exploiting the COVID-19 crisis to commit large-scale fraud against state unemployment insurance programs.”

‘Billionaire Craig Newmark, founder of Craigslist, has lately been busy spending money on causes apparently near and dear to his heart: first he gave $100,000 to the Biden campaign, and $35,000 to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) – and then funded a study that claims Big Tech is not biased against conservative views.
The New York University Stern School of Business study appeared on Monday and was put together with the goal of disproving long-standing claims of creeping anti-conservative bias on social media, that culminated around the US presidential election.
But those “studying the study” have now found evidence that the paper, entitled, “False Accusation: The Unfounded Claim that Social Media Companies Censor Conservatives,” was bankrolled by Newmark, a major Democratic Party supporter. This cast doubt on the credibility of the claims.
And the results are as the title suggests: that social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook made “reasonable decisions” when they banned President Trump, and that Twitter was right to try to suppress the Hunter Biden story that broke on the New York Post (although Twitter itself seemed to disagree when they eventually opted against silencing investigative journalism.)
Above all, the narrative and justification behind much of online censorship in recent months and years has been the declarative need to control “misinformation”; the study now proclaims that those finding bias in Big Tech’s behavior are themselves spreading misinformation for thinking and expressing this.
“The false bias narrative is an example of political disinformation, meaning an untrue assertion that is spread to deceive. In this instance, the deception whips up part of the conservative base, much of which already bitterly distrusts the mainstream media,” says the study, seemingly promoting the idea of establishing accepted political truths that cannot be challenged, and of mainstream media as the only acceptable distributor of these “truths.”
Another point that the study’s authors Paul M. Barrett and J. Grant Sims made the need to set up a “Digital Regulatory Agency” whose job would be to institutionalize what one might call “the war on wrongthink” on social media.
Meanwhile, the assertion that conservative voices do not suffer online bias is based on the study’s authors citing web traffic that conservative news sites continue to receive from Facebook.

Let’s just say it plainly: The establishment declared war on me and on all conservative Americans when it decided that leftist orthodoxy was more important than the Constitution.
Don’t believe me? Fine, why should you believe a Trump supporter? You’ve been indoctrinated by the national media, Big Tech oligarchs, the Democratic Party, and academic elites to believe without questioning that people like me can’t be trusted. This “guilt by labeling” is the antithesis of fair play or justice. It is a convenient mechanism for the ruling class to herd people into identity clusters so that individual rights can be supplanted by group responsibility. If this reminds you of China’s Cultural Revolution, you are not wrong. The ruling class wants you to conform, confirm and comply. If you step outside the lines, be prepared to be shamed, silenced and ostracized.
A shocking example was provided Wednesday when Douglass Mackey of Delray Beach, Fla., was arrested for creating memes that allegedly misled voters in 2016 to think they could vote by texting instead of by actually going to the polls. This is the equivalent of arresting Sacha Baron Cohen for exposing the gullibility of the rich and famous. The FBI offered no evidence that Mackey actually convinced anyone not to vote, but even if it did, so what? Would you rather live in a country where the FBI is hunting down pranksters — four years after the supposed transgression — or a country where voters are expected to be able to recognize a joke when they see one?
But nothing can be taken for granted any more. The people — and even their representatives and senators — are considered enemies of the state because they hold opinions that don’t meet the standards of Joe Biden or (this is even scarier!) Jake Tapper.
No wonder the people are starting to rise up and rebel against the plutocracy. It’s not “We the Oligarchs” who are the source of power in the Constitution, but “We the People,” yet the ruling establishment has forgotten that. If people like Donald Trump and Douglass Mackey are deemed to be “enemies of the state,” then those who would suppress them and their freedoms must be considered “enemies of the people.”

Now, ‘In a long-awaited report released Monday, a task force commissioned to study the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) calls the convention’s public policy arm a “significant distraction from the Great Commission work of Southern Baptists.”
Blaming the ERLC for the loss of more than a million dollars in constituent church donations to the denomination, the task force, led by Georgia pastor Mike Stone, quotes the leader of a state Baptist convention as saying, “The ERLC has been a stumbling block not worth the mission dollar investment.” (Stone is one of four candidates vying to be the next president of the Southern Baptist Convention or SBC.)
But there seems to be as much politics as economics in the report’s conclusions. It notes that in recent years, the fear of a “liberal” drift in the denomination has led some churches to leave the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) or to withhold giving. Part of that dissatisfaction is aimed at the ERLC, and particularly at the Rev. Russell Moore, who has led the ERLC since 2013.
Though a staunch opponent of abortion and same-sex marriage, two of the issues most important to politically conservative evangelicals, Moore’s views on other issues over the course of the Trump administration—most significantly on immigration, race, and Donald Trump himself—have landed Moore in hot water.
The report does not call for Moore’s ouster, but it does recommend that the ERLC no longer make public comments about any political candidate and only address issues that the SBC has already issued resolutions on.’
‘The report also list a series of direct complaints. These include Moore’s opposition to Trump; claims that the ERLC receives funding linked to progressive philanthropist George Soros; the ERLC’s stance on cooperating with COVID-19 restrictions; and the agency’s support for immigration reforms.
More recently, it claims, the ERLC was critical of protesters who stormed the U.S. Capitol but not of Black Lives Matter protests.
The report also cites what it calls “disrespectful and condescending responses” to questions raised by messengers—the SBC’s terms for church delegates to its annual meeting. As one example, the report mentions the response to Arkansas pastor John Wofford at the 2016 meeting.
Wofford asked Moore why the ERLC would support the rights of Muslims to build mosques. Moore replied that Baptists had always supported religious liberty and that if a government could ban mosques it could also ban Baptist churches, a response that earned a standing ovation.
Moore is not the first head of the ERLC to be met with disapproval. Two of his predecessors left office because of controversy.
In 2011, longtime ERLC President Richard Land was criticized for his support of a mosque in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and for joining an interfaith coalition that defended the rights of Muslims to build houses of worship. Criticism from other Southern Baptists eventually forced Land to leave the coalition. Land, a longtime Republican activist, left office after a scandal over plagiarism and comments on race.
Land’s predecessor, N. Larry Baker, lasted just 16 months in the role in the 1980s, where his views on “abortion, capital punishment, and the role of women in the church” were considered controversial, according to Baptist Press. Baker was part of the moderate wing of the SBC that was ousted by a conservative movement in the denomination.
David Gushee, professor of ethics at Mercer University, said that the head of the ERLC has always been in a precarious position.
