With all the chaos that has been created around the world with the BLM it is good to read about a Black man that was truly a slave to another man but came to be ‘a servant of Jesus Christ’ . This is the story of John Jasper from the book John Jasper, the unmatched Negro philosopher and preacher. 'INTRODUCTION READER ; stay a moment. A word with you before you begin to sample this book. We will tell you some things in advance, which may help you to decide whether it is worth while to read any further. These pages deal with a negro, and are not designed either to help or to hurt the negro race. They have only to do with one man. He was one of a class, without pedigree, and really without successors, except that he was so dominant and infectious that numbers of people affected his ways and dreamed that they were one of his sort. As a fact, they were simply of another and of a baser sort. The man in question was a negro, and if you cannot appreciate greatness in a black skin you would do well to turn your thoughts into some other channel. Moreover, he was a negro covered over with ante bellum habits and ways of doing. He lived forty years before the war and for about forty years after it. He grew wonder-fully as a freeman ; but he never grew away from the tastes, dialects, and manners of the bondage times. He was a man left over from the old regime and never got infected with the new order. The air of the educated negro preacher didn't set well upon him. The raw scholarship of the new " ish," as he called it, was sounding brass to him. As a fact, the new generation of negro preachers sent out by the schools drew back from this man. They branded him as an anachronism, and felt that his presence in the pulpit was a shock to religion and an offense to the ministry ; and yet not one of them ever attained the celebrity or achieved the results which came to this unlettered and grievously ungram- matical son of Africa. But do not be afraid that you are to be fooled into the fanatical camp. This story comes from the pen of a Virginian who claims no exemption from Southern prejudices and feels no call to sound the praises of the negro race. Indeed, he never intended to write what is contained within the covers of this book. It grew up spontaneously and most of the contents were written before the book was thought of. It is, perhaps, too much to expect that the meddlers with books will take the ipse dixit of an unaccredited stranger. They ought not to do it : they are not asked to do it. They can go on about their business, if they prefer ; but if they do, they will miss the story of the incomparable negro of the South. This is said with sobriety and after a half century spent in close observa- tion of the negro race. More than that, the writer of this never had any intention of bothering with this man when he first loomed up into notoriety. He got drawn in unexpectedly. He heard that there was a marvel of a man "over in Africa," a not too savoury portion of Richmond, Virginia, and one Sunday afternoon in company with a Scot- Irishman, who was a scholar and a critic, with a strong leaning towards ridicule, he went to hear him preach. Shades of our Anglo-Saxon fathers! Did mortal lips ever gush with such torrents of horrible English ! Hardly a word came out clothed and in its right mind. And gestures ! He circled around the pulpit with his ankle in his hand ; and laughed and sang and shouted and acted about a dozen characters within the space of three minutes. Meanwhile, in spite of these things, he was pouring out a gospel sermon, red hot, full of love, full of invective, full of tenderness, full of bitterness, full of tears, full of every passion that ever flamed in the human breast. He was a theatre within himself, with the stage crowded with actors. He was a battle-field ; himself the general, the staff, the officers, the common soldiery, the thundering artillery and the rattling musketry. He was the preacher ; likewise the church and the choir and the deacons and the congregation. The Scot-Irishman surrendered in fifteen minutes after the affair commenced, but the other man was hard-hearted and stubborn and refused to commit himself. He preferred to wait until he got out of doors and let the wind blow on him and see what was left. He determined to go again ; and he went and kept going, off and on, for twenty years. That was before the negro became a national figure. It was before he startled his race with his philosophy as to the rotation of the sun. It was before he became a lecturer and a sensation, sought after from all parts of the country. Then it was that he captured the Scot-Irish and the other man also. What is written here constitutes the gatherings of nearly a quarter of a century, and, frankly speaking, is a tribute to the brother in black, the one unmatched, unapproachable, and wonderful brother. But possibly the reader is of the practical sort. He would like to get the worldly view of this African genius and to find out of what stuff he was made. Very well ; he will be gratified ! Newspapers are heartlessly practical. They are grudging of editorial commendation, and in Richmond, at the period, they were sparing of references of any kind to negroes. You could hardly expect them to say anything commendatory of a negro, if he was a negro, with odd and impossible notions. Now this man was of that very sort. He got it into his big skull that the earth was flat, and that the sun rotated ; a scientific absurdity ! But you see he proved it by the Bible. He ransacked the whole book and got up ever so many passages. He took them just as he found them. It never occurred to him that the Bible was not dealing with natural science, and that it was written in an age and country when astronomy was unknown and therefore written in the language of the time. Intelligent people understand this very well, but this miracle of his race was behind his era. He took the Bible literally, and, with it in hand, he fought his battles about the sun. Literally, but not scientifically, he proved his position, and he gave some of his devout antagonists a world of botheration by the tenacity with which he held to his views and the power with which he stated his case. Scientifically, he was one of the ancients, but that did not interfere with his piety and did not at all eclipse his views. His perfect honesty was most apparent in all of his contentions ; and, while some laughed at what they called his vagaries, those who knew him best respected him none the less, but rather the more, for his astronomical combat. There was something in his love of the Bible, his faith in every letter of it, and his courage, that drew to him the good will and lofty respect of uncounted thousands and, probably, it might be said, of uncounted millions. Now when this man died it was as the fall of a tower. It was a crash, heard and felt farther than was the collapse of the famous tower at Venice. If the dubious, undecided reader has not broken down on the road but has come this far, he is invited to look at the subjoined editorial from Tke Richmond Dispatch, the leading morning paper of Richmond, Va., which published at the time an article on this lofty figure, now national in its proportions and imperishable in its fame, when it bowed to the solemn edict of death. (From The Richmond Dispatch} " It is a sad coincidence that the destruction of the Jefferson Hotel and the death of the Rev. John Jasper should have fallen upon the same day. John Jasper was a Richmond Institution, as surely so as was Major Ginter's fine hotel. He was a national character, and he and his philosophy were known from one end of the land to the other. Some people have the impression that John Jasper was famous simply because he flew in the face of the scientists and declared that the sun moved. In one sense, that is true, but it is also true that his fame was due, in great measure, to a strong personality, to a deep, earnest conviction, as well as to a devout Christian character. Some preachers might have made this assertion about the sun's motion without having attracted any special attention. The people would have laughed over it, and the incident would have passed by as a summer breeze. But John Jasper made an impression upon his generation, because he was sincerely and deeply in earnest in all that he said. No man could talk with him in private, or listen to him from the pulpit, without being thoroughly convinced of that fact. His implicit trust in the Bible and everything in it, was beautiful and impressive. He had no other lamp by which his feet were guided. He had no other science, no other philosophy. He took the Bible in its literal significance ; he accepted it as the inspired word of God ; he trusted it with all his heart and soul and mind ; he believed nothing that was in conflict with the teachings of the Bible scientists and philosophers and theologians to the contrary notwithstanding. " ' They tried to make it appear,' said he, in the last talk we had with him on the subject, ' that John Jasper was a fool and a liar when he said that the sun moved. I paid no attention to it at first, because I did not believe that the so-called scientists were in earnest. I did not think that there was any man in the world fool enough to believe that the sun did not move, for everybody had seen it move. But when I found that these so-called scientists were in earnest I took down my old Bible and proved that they, and not John Jasper, were the fools and the liars.' And there was no more doubt in his mind on that subject than there was of his existence. John Jasper had the faith that removed mountains. He knew the literal Bible as well as Bible scholars did. He did not understand it from the scientific point of view, but he knew its teachings and understood its spirit, and he believed in it. He accepted it as the true word of God, and he preached it with unction and with power. " John Jasper became famous by accident, but he was a most interesting man apart from his solar theory. He was a man of deep convictions, a man with a purpose in life, a man who earnestly desired to save souls for heaven. He followed his divine calling with faithfulness, with a determination, as far as he could, to make the ways of his God known unto men, His saving health among all nations. And the Lord poured upon His servant, Jasper, ' the continual dew of His blessing.' "'

‘There are three main verbs used to describe God’s work of creation in Genesis. These are “create” (Hebrew bara), “make” (asah), and “form” (yatsar). The three words are similar in meaning but each with a slightly different emphasis. None of them, of course, can mean anything at all like “evolve” or “change” on their own accord.
All three are used in Genesis with reference to humans. “And God said, Let us make man in our image.…So God created man in his own image.…And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground” (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:7).
Although the subject of creation is commonly associated with Genesis, it is mentioned even more frequently by the great prophet Isaiah. The words bara and yatsar are used twice as often in Isaiah as in any other Old Testament book and are applied uniquely to works of God. All three verbs are used together in Isaiah 45:18 in order to adequately describe God’s purposeful work in preparing Earth for humans: “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.”
God created, formed, made, and established the earth that it might be the home of men and women. But what was God’s purpose for the people who would inhabit it? Our text answers this most fundamental of questions, and once again all three key verbs are used: “I have created him…I have formed him,…I have made him…for my glory.”

Now, Northam wants the state General Assembly to approve a constitutional amendment that would guarantee a “right” to abortion, One News Now reports.
Olivia Turner, leader of the Virginia Society for Human Life, warned that the amendment would allow partial-birth abortions again and end a parental consent law that ensures parents are involved before an underage girl aborts her unborn baby.
“The odds are very high that unless there is a huge outcry from the general public, the constitutional amendment to the Virginia Constitution allowing a right to abortion could, in fact, pass,” she told the conservative news outlet. “We don’t have the votes to stop it in the House of Delegates, and it’s questionable whether we’d be able to stop it at the Senate level.”
To be added to the Virginia Constitution, the legislature must approve the amendment in two consecutive sessions and voters must approve it on the ballot.

‘America is in trouble. Some say we are at the start of the Second Civil War. Leftist America-haters, always quick to use any reason to denigrate America, took advantage of a scandalous, shocking, and shameful crime in Minneapolis to protest, i.e., destroy, burn, loot. As of today, downtown Seattle has been taken over by arrogant Black Lives Matter (BLM) revolutionaries who have demanded the mayor resign.
No, not a farce, no, not a South American nation but in the USA! And leading politicians and media people still think it is about racial injustice.
For the record, I’m for the fair and equal treatment of everyone. All corrupt cops should be held accountable and jailed if guilty of illegal activities. I believe strongly in the right to protest. I have protested as a citizen and as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives against officials (mostly Republican colleagues) because of misuse of power against Christian schools.
I must first establish my bona fides for me to speak to this issue. As a Christian, I believe no one should be mistreated, and I must treat everyone the way I want to be treated. The most evidence to be used against me was when I went into the rundown store in Wayne County, West Virginia, owned by “Uncle Charlie,” the only black man in the county. As a nine-year-old innocent, I stood at the candy counter and pointed to the chocolate covered candy drops saying to Charlie, “I’d like to buy five of those nigger-toes.” That was what I always heard them called.
That was the time when Booker T. Washington became my hero after I read his Up From Slavery. I was as innocent as the driven snow.
There, I have admitted it for the first time, but I never used the offensive term in derision or hate so you do not have a race card to play. My grown children never heard me use that term. Their black friends at the Christian school I ran were always welcome in our home. It didn’t matter, and it never occurred to me that we were doing something unusual in having black guests. They were simply friends.
I would be delighted to have Ben Carson, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, or Lloyd Marcus as a neighbor. Not being privileged to have as a neighbor one of the aforementioned blacks, I do have a black neighbor. One Sunday morning, I drove down our driveway, and at the street, I saw water spewing into the air near the water meter. I also saw two neighbors, one white and the other black, digging at the spot where water was shooting out. They had noticed and started to work on repairing it for me. They knew I was totally incompetent about things like that and knew we were ready to leave for church. When we got home, the repair had been made.
It didn’t matter to me what color my neighbors were, where they went to church, whether they were liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican.
My wife and I don’t just talk about helping blacks, but we have given thousands of dollars to black friends who have specialized ministries in America and the West Indies, to support blacks in African nations of Zambia, Liberia, and others. We helped blacks in devastated Haiti and in providing water wells in African villages.
I wonder how many white liberals, who often pull out the race card, also pull out their checkbook to actually help blacks. Their lack of support would not surprise me because leftists are the biggest hypocrites, gasbags, and phonies alive.
So, I have a lifetime of not caring about race when it comes to friends, neighbors, or co-workers. But, the main reason I can’t be a racist is that I have a minority daughter-in-law and two sweet interracial grandkids.
There, I’ve just ripped up your race card; however, the racists will try to put it back together. I will be castigated by my critics as being a racist. However, I might be wrong; I might be ignorant; I might be unkind or thoughtless; but I am not a racist. You have no race card to play.
Now, to speak to the issue of low-lifes using protesting as an excuse for hooliganism and rioting.
Americans have been awakened, agitated, angered, and appalled at the killing of Floyd, and that includes me.
I’m appalled that everyone has been so quick to make a judgment without knowing all the facts. Yes, it looks bad, very bad, but I want to know the whole story. No one has suggested that everyone involved could be wrong! Floyd, the four cops, even the bystanders who were too intimidated to physically confront the police.
I’m appalled that innocent, legal protesting by whites and blacks became an excuse to burn, loot, and destroy over 300 stores, thereby destroying the jobs of innocent people. It is obvious that it is not a skin problem but a sin problem.
I’m further appalled that the same thing has happened in scores of other cities when low-lifes used the tragic death of Floyd as an excuse to steal from others—often Blacks. Floyd was sent to prison five times for possession of drugs, armed robbery, and possession of cocaine. He was released from prison in 2014 and left for Minneapolis to work with a Christian group. At his arrest, he was high on illegal drugs, dropped a bag of drugs, used a fake $20 bill, resisted arrest, and died as a result. Not the actions of a “hero” or an “example.” Of course, none of his offenses deserved the death penalty. Nor does his death make him a hero.
I’m appalled that far-left opportunists have made a hero and martyr out of Floyd even portraying him with wings and a halo. First of all, people who go to heaven go there only by trusting in the death and resurrection of Christ, not by good works, turning over a new leaf, baptism, or joining a church. Humans don’t become angels, but additionally, angels don’t have wings or have a halo.
Pastor P.T. Ngwolo, of Resurrection Houston Church, who held services at the projects, said, “I have hope because just like Abel is a Christ figure, I see my brother [Floyd] as a Christ figure as well.” Ngwolo may speak the truth at times, but he spoke blasphemy then.
I’m appalled that Blacks have been kicked in the teeth, often by other Blacks, for centuries. If black lives matter, what about the millions of innocent black babies aborted? What about the many black youths who drop out of high school and get involved in drugs? What about 70% of black babies born without a father.
I’m appalled that a professor said looting was not really a crime but is an “expression of power,” and mistreatment of Blacks justified the looting and burning. And very few criticized the jerk who said it.
I’m appalled at seeing police officials, even a couple of chiefs, FBI agents, U.S. military, and politicians abasing themselves in support of the protesters. They are not grieving but groveling to BLM hooligans. And it’s appalling to hear them reject and ridicule All Lives Matter. It was appalling to see the mayor of Minneapolis grovel, kneel, and sob for a full minute at a Floyd memorial service, but the mob was dissatisfied with his humiliating gesture and ridiculed him. The mayor is so uninformed not to know that such bullies are never satisfied.
I’m appalled that Minneapolis and other city officials are so stupid (sorry, but no better word) as to close down their police departments to be replaced with social workers. Don’t these officials know that black neighborhoods make seven times more distress calls for help than do white neighborhoods?
I’m appalled that irresponsible civil rights leaders still use Travon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Freddie Gray, as black heroes. However, all had not learned a simple lesson: don’t resist a man with a gun. Yet, their family and friends always portrayed them as being loving, always there, unselfish, having a great future, etc. All of them were dumb as a post and were not good examples for others to follow.
I’m appalled any principled person would propagate the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot!” scenario since it did not happen and was the catalyst for BLM fanatics. Leftists continue to assert that Michael Brown was gunned down by a white cop as Brown held up his hands to surrender. No, Brown was reaching for the cop’s gun, so he was not only a thug but a stupid thug. BLM came out of that incident, all based on a lie. Yet, dishonest people still call BLM a civil rights group.
BLM are cop-killers who chanted “Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon!” at the Minnesota State Fair. Following the death of Eric Garner, BLM protesters chanted, “What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want them? Now!”
As I see it, Black Lives Matter is a domestic terrorist group.
I’m appalled that alleged Evangelicals like Christianity Today refused to tell the truth about Floyd but did a distorted puff piece headed, “George Floyd Left a Gospel Legacy in Houston.” No, he left a life of crime in Houston. CT characterized Floyd as “a person of peace who…opened up ministry opportunities in the Third Ward housing projects.” Without mentioning his very long rap sheet, the magazine said, “But in Houston’s Third Ward, they know Floyd for how he lived for decades—a mentor to a generation of young men and a ‘person of peace’ ushering ministries into the area.” He would be remembered as “a mentor to a generation of young men and a ‘person of peace.’”
With no similarity to reality, the piece declared, “The people who knew him personally will remember him as a positive light. Guys from the streets look to him like, ‘Man, if he can change his life, I can change mine.’” But Floyd had a multi-year history of criminal activity that had put him in prison five times. He may have been a temporary example for a while after his last release from prison but he reverted to his life of crime and is no example for anyone.
I’m appalled that civil rights leaders take advantage of every shooting, fair or unfair, of a black person. Such losers as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan have built financial empires on the backs of poor blacks, and the media and others sit down with them and treat them as successful celebrities. In reality, such men are only a step above the New York and Chicago Mafioso who sold protection to mom and pop businesses in the first half of the 20th century. If a businessman didn’t want “protection” his leg was broken. If he refused a second time, both legs were broken. If resistance continued, his store exploded.
See, he should have bought the protection. That is the business civil rights leaders are in. They are selling protection but wearing $1000 suits and $400 shoes.
Black leader Booker T. Washington wrote, “There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs—partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays.”

‘Have you ever wondered during the past few months if the seven-year tribulation has already begun? I know that it hasn’t yet started because Scripture says that we will be with the Lord before the antichrist establishes a covenant with Israel that starts the clock ticking for this time of God’s wrath (Dan. 9:27; 2 Thess. 2:3-8).
Although the tribulation has not yet started, we see the beginning of conditions we know will be much worse during this seven-year period. I believe this is God’s way of getting the attention of the world before His judgments begin. He’s also assuring us that His appearing is imminent and we will soon be with Him in heaven and the place He is now preparing for us.
I have picked ten signs that tell us the tribulation is rapidly approaching.
1 FAMINE
Revelation 6:8 tells us under the fourth seal, the rider on the pale horse is “given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence . . . .” Deadly famines will occur during the tribulation; they will be a factor in wiping out one-fourth of the world’s population during the seal judgments described in Revelation 6.
According to a story published the National Geographic. website on May 12, 2020, swarms of gigantic locusts are swarming parts of East Africa bringing with them great famine. The National Geographic story also stated, “Some 13 million people in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, and Eritrea already suffer from ‘severe food insecurity’ . . . meaning they may go without eating for an entire day or have run out of food altogether.”
The National Geographic story also noted that swarms of locusts can destroy up to “300 million pounds of crops” in a day. Can you imagine the disaster this can bring to already impoverished nations? India also reports the presence of large swarms of locusts.
2 INFLATION
Revelation 6:6 reveals that a time of great inflation lies ahead for the world during the tribulation such that a “quart of wheat” will sell for a day’s wages.
Do we see the potential for this in our world? Absolutely! Venezuela stands as an example of devastating inflation caused by government debt and printing of money.
The enormous debt in the United States alone along with its printing of money during the past decade has already pushed the economy to the edge of disaster. That, along with exceedingly high unemployment of over forty million, has moved America ever so close to a complete collapse.
Any more shocks will push it over the edge to great economic catastrophe and mind-boggling inflation and bring the same to the world.
3 VIOLENCE
Revelation 9:21 tells us this this about people during the tribulation, “nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.” Just as in the days of Noah, violence will fill the earth during the tribulation.
The antichrist will cause the killing of a large number of saints during this time. Revelation 7:9-14 pictures a large multitude of martyrs that have come out of the “great tribulation.” These are no doubt the same ones John refers to in 6:9 who were killed “for the word of God and witness they have borne.” We already see this violence against Christians in our world and the seeds of it in the United States.
Can there be any doubt regarding the deadly intentions of the left in America who advocate abortion up to and after birth, who put patients sick with COVID-19 in nursing homes killing thousands of the elderly, and who send police to stop worship services? Someday the rage and hatred of the left in the US will erupt into violent and deadly persecution against those who hold fast to the Word of God, if not before the rapture then surely after it.
4 THE INCREASE OF ANTI-SEMITISM
We also know that the second half of the tribulation will be a time of deadly violence against the Jewish people (Matt. 24:15-20). We see the seeds of much anti-Semitism at work in our world.
New York City, home to 1.8 million Jews, saw a record number of anti-Semitic attacks in 2019. France and Germany are rapidly becoming unsafe places for the Jewish people to lie.
We also see rampant anti-Semitism at the United Nations. During the first couple months of the 2019-2020 session of the UN, it adopted 18 anti-Israel resolutions compared with just 7 concerning other nations.
5 THE NEW WORLD ORDER
Scripture tells us that a world government will dominate the entire earth during the tribulation over which the antichrist will seize control (Dan. 7:24-26; Rev. 13:1-10). Today, we see this coming one-world government forming before our eyes.
The UN now has a web page titled “Let’s Take Our Planet Back” at https://unnwo.org/. An easy way to remember the link is to think “United Nations New World Order.” This website represents a more blatant revelation of the UN’s desire to create a New World Order although it has always been quite visible under its stated Agenda 2030 goals of establishing a Marxist world order by 2030.
The website puts a positive spin on the seventeen goals of Agenda 2030, which in reality reflect a Marxist/Fascist world government in total control of the lives of people in every nation. The goals of the New Green Deal in America mesh perfectly with those of Agenda 2030; I believe its goal is to bring the United States into the New World Order.
6 SURRENDERING OF RIGHTS
Since the onset of COVID-19, the willingness of people in the United States to surrender their rights and freedoms has astounded me. Many blindly follow unconstitutional restrictions without protest or any resistance whatsoever.
This has been a successful test run for the globalists. The elite have learned that with a world crisis and control of the media, many people will unwittingly submit to whatever the government tells them with little or no resistance as long as it’s for the “common good.”
When the tribulation arrives on planet earth, great fear and panic will also lead to a surrendering of rights and freedoms that will enable the globalists to finalize their plans for a New World Order.
7 THE MARK OF THE BEAST
I do not believe that Bill Gates is the antichrist nor do I think that his vaccine and its accompanying tattoo is the mark of the beast that we find described in Revelation 13:16-18. However, I do believe these things are also preparing the world for the control that the antichrist will exert over the world during the tribulation.
The idea that the government can require a vaccine along with proof of it to leave one’s home and participate in society would have been thought tyrannical just a decade ago. But now, after the fear generated in the media over COVID-19, multitudes now accept such an idea and see no problem with it.
In addition to this, we now have the technology for the antichrist to implement such a program worldwide. Revelation 13:16-18 is not here yet, but it’s springing to life before our eyes.
8 MIDDLE EAST TENSION
While the world remains distracted by COVID-19, tensions keep escalating in the Middle East. Israel has inflicted heavy damage on Iranian military installations in Syria in recent weeks. And, Iran continues to promise the world that it will soon wipe Israel off the map.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s pledge to annex portions of the West Bank on July 1 is also increasing tensions in the region. The Palestinians and their allies say they will never accept the adding of land in Judea and Samaria to Israel and will most likely react violently to such an annexation.
The Gog-Magog War described in Ezekiel 38-39 seems closer than ever. The nations remain aligned precisely as we read in 38:1-13. It’s also interesting that Israeli Rabbis believe the war of Ezekiel 38-39 could begin at any moment.
9 APOSTASY
In both 1 and 2 Timothy, Paul warns of great apostasy in the church during the last days. This day has arrived. The widespread acceptance by so many churches of what the Bible labels as sin is just the tip of the iceberg.
Just as the apostle predicted in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, people today flock to false teachers in great numbers. In some cases, these so-called pastors have become multi-millionaires as a result of their perversion of the Gospel.
It’s far more popular for preachers today to regard vast sections of scriptural prophecy as allegory and proclaim a false, unbiblical hope to their congregations, one that denies the imminent return of Jesus.
The heretical teaching that the church will triumph through the tribulation and bring in the millennial kingdom itself has attracted millions of Christians during the past few decades. It’s by far the fastest growing view of the end-times in churches today and yet another indicator of the great apostasy that exists in our time.
10 LAWLESSNESS
I added this point after reading the accounts of the rioting in Minneapolis that has spread to many other cities. Is this not a prime example of the lawlessness that Jesus said would appear during the tribulation? In Matthew 24:12. Jesus said this about the signs of the end of the age, “And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.”
Paul refers to the antichrist as the “the man of lawlessness” in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. Right now we see the spirit of the antichrist surging throughout the United States as the anarchists destroy property and ruin the lives of thousands of people of all races.
As I look at all these ten indicators of the rapidly approaching tribulation, I am amazed that the true church remains earthbound. How much longer can it be before Jesus returns to take us to the place He’s preparing for us?
I expect the rapture to happen at any moment. We know that the rapture occurs months, or longer after the tribulation. If the tribulation seems so close, that means that rapture is even nearer.
The economies of the world may recover from the brink of disaster and the push for a New World Order may decrease. However, at the moment this seems highly unlikely given the tremendous debt of many nations and the staggering high unemployment. Forbes online magazine recently stated that as many as 42% of the jobs lost in American may be gone for good. Could the growing lawlessness and riots push the US and world closer to economic collapse? It’s entirely possible.
The history of the twentieth century tells us that the aftermath of great economic distress, war, or both provides fertile soil for the emergence of socialist/fascist dictators. I believe the antichrist will arise from the ashes of the coming worldwide chaos to seize control of the coming New World Order.
Given the condition of our world at the moment, it will not take much to plunge the world into a great economic disaster or trigger the Gog-Magog War. The resulting chaos will provide the perfect opportunity for Satan to place his man in charge of the world order, which he will do.
The good news is that we will be with Jesus before the devil unveils “the man of lawlessness” to the world.

‘In recent days, a number of commentators have compared the year 2020 with 1968 (for my article, see here). But we have not discussed the larger cultural shift that took place as a result of the counterculture revolution of the 60s. In short, what was extreme and fringe in that generation became mainstream in the next generation. Put another way, radicals like Bill Ayers of the Weathermen (who bombed buildings in their anti-war protests) became university professors and even mentors of a president (meaning, Barack Obama). Who saw this coming?
Do you think that radical, anti-family feminists in groups like W.I.T.C.H. imagined a world where legalized abortion would snuff out 60 million lives in the womb? (W.I.T.C.H. stood for the Women’s International Terrorist Conspiracy from Hell – I kid you not – and was founded in 1969.)
Do you think that the 1969 Stonewall Inn rioters, hurling bricks at police and their cars and chanting “Gay Power” and “We Want Freedom Now” envisioned the day when the Supreme Court would change the very meaning of marriage? (Remember that these gay rioters tended to despise marriage as an antiquated, patriarchal institution.) Do you think that the transvestite prostitute protesters envisioned the day when university campuses and big businesses would marginalize you if you didn’t affirm transgender activism?
In 2000, I wrote a mini-book called The Jesus Manifesto. Looking back at some of the opening lines, it sounds almost quaint today. “The last generation’s counterculture of rebellion has become this generation’s establishment of revulsion, and what was unthinkable thirty years ago – daytime talk shows celebrating adultery and incest; homosexual love scenes on major network TV; eleven year-old multiple murderers; massacres in our schools and houses of worship – is a matter of course today. We need a revolution!”
Of course, the “revolution” of which I spoke was a gospel-based, moral and cultural revolution, changing hearts and lives and thereby changing the society. But if that was true in the year 2000, it is much truer in the year 2020, when we stand on the precipice of an even more dangerous cultural shift.
I’m talking about the rise of mobocracy where the most radical elements of society forcefully impose their will on everyone else.
I’m talking about the “safe space” culture of the college campuses (with enforced speech codes –even thought codes – and severe penalties for every violation) becoming the national norm.
I’m talking about an even more extreme shift to the left, but this time, under mob patrol.
I’m talking about the current culture of the New York Times, where the publishing of a contrary opinion piece leads to outrage and overhaul in the editorial department, becoming the national norm. (So much for differing opinions!)
As expressed by Alexandra Desanctis on the National Review, “The result is ideological servitude, a society in which a culturally powerful, tyrannical minority owns the voice of every person willing to go along.” And woe be to you if do you not agree to go along.
Of course, many of us have been warning about this for years. (When it comes to gay activism, I started warning 15 years ago that those who came out of the closet wanted to put us – meaning, Bible-based conservatives – in the closet.)
But now, with the tragic death of George Floyd, the radical activists have seized their moment. You must kneel, or else! You must embrace our agenda, or you will be trampled underfoot! You must bow down, or we will force you to bow!
If you don’t shout “Black Lives Matter” loudly enough or demonstrate sufficient guilt (in particular, for having white skin), you will lose your job. Or your credibility. Or your peace.
One pastor sent me screen shots of the death threats he has received for taking issue with “queer” aspects of the BLM platform. Not today! The mob is coming your way. (This pastor’s home address was revealed as well.)
Synagogues vandalized during the riots in Los Angeles have discovered that some of the rioters are also antisemites (why no public outcry?). As a Times of Israel headline announced on June 2, “LA Jews reeling after local institutions looted and burned in Floyd protests. Synagogues, schools and Jewish memorials vandalized with anti-Semitic, anti-Israel slogans, Jewish-owned businesses battered, particularly in Fairfax district.” But this is no surprise given that BLM also supports BDS.
And what of BLM goals like this? “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.
“We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).”
As for BLM’s antisemitic roots, Caroline Glick noted on Israel Hayom that, “BLM was formed in 2014 as a merger of activists from the anti-Semitic Nation of Islam, the anti-Semitic Black Panthers and Dream Catchers. In 2016, BLM published a platform that has since been removed from its website. The platform accused Israel of committing ‘genocide’ and referred to the Jewish state as an ‘apartheid’ state. The platform accused Israel and its supporters of pushing the US into wars in the Middle East. The platform also officially joined BLM with the anti-Semitic BDS campaign to boycott, divest and sanction Israel. BDS campaign leader Omar Barghouti acknowledged this week that the goal of the BDS campaign is to destroy Israel. BDS campaigns on US campuses are characterized by bigotry and discrimination directed against Jewish students.”
As for America as a whole, just a few days ago, the thought of defunding the police would have been viewed as a silly joke. One week later, and presidential candidate Joe Biden is being tested for his allegiance to this bizarre proposal. (Police reform, where needed, is one thing. Defunding the police is not even a bad joke.)
But shouting “Make America Great Again” and rallying around the flag is not the solution.
Instead, everyone of us must stand up to the mob and refuse to move an inch from our core convictions and values.
I mean in our homes. Our schools. Our neighborhoods. Our places of business. On social media. Wherever we have a voice, we must stand and speak.
Of course, we do abhor police brutality when it occurs. We do stand in solidarity with victims of injustice. We do oppose racism. But we do it our way, not the mob’s way. And we do it based on our values, not those of the radical left.
I tweeted this last night (June 8): “Rather than bowing the knee to the mobocracy of the far left or the hyper-nationalism of the far right, I say we bow the knee to Jesus, then get His marching orders and obey Him at any cost.”
I appeal to you strongly, no I warn you: this is a critical hour in our history. If we do not push back righteously today, we will have deep regrets tomorrow. And what will we say to our children and grandchildren?

‘The protester whose skull was crushed pulling down a Confederate statue in Portsmouth, Virginia yesterday is fighting for life, as supporters raise nearly $30,000 for his medical bills.
Chris Green was severely injured by the falling statue, with horrified bystanders reporting that parts of his skull were showing and he was convulsing on the ground. He is still alive but has life-threatening injuries, according to police. News station WAVY reports that Virginia State Police are investigating the incident. It’s not clear yet if any charges will be filed.
