Madness comes in many forms, from King George III of England to Marcel Leyat from France, who in the 1920s designed a wingless aeroplane and marketed it as an automobile (John Connolly, Weekend Australian 17.6). Given that a large propeller mounted on the front of a car is quite dangerous for pedestrians, most normal people would see that as insane.  But the Kevin Rudd-inspired Grattan Institute probably thinks it’s an idea for our times, given that they have now come out with the mad idea of ripping out all gas-operated stoves and appliances across Australia, in the name of, you guessed it – achieving  net Zero (Gas ban plan to hit Green…
