In the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) the all knowing politicians believe the QR check in will become a permanent feature for its once on a time somewhat free citizens!
‘Using QR codes to check into venues is likely to become a permanent feature in NSW even after the vaccine is rolled out. The check in system was first implemented to combat the pandemic through improved contact tracing mechanisms and to date there have been 45 million check ins through the Service NSW app. It was mandated at the beginning of 2021 that every business must use the Service NSW government system whereas in 2020 businesses could choose to use a private system.
