The church’s haul may have reached — or even exceeded — $3.5 billion, making a global religious institution with more than a billion followers among the biggest winners in the U.S. government’s pandemic relief efforts, an Associated Press analysis of federal data released this week found.’ https://julieroys.com/millions-in-covid-aid-goes-to-catholic-dioceses-rocked-by-sex-abuse-cover-ups/?mc_cid=430adae794&mc_eid=b13d34ad49
Then there is ‘Willow Creek Community Church and Harvest Bible Chapel—two churches rocked by recent scandals—have received millions in COVID relief funds.
According to a list released by the Small Business Administration (SBA), Willow Creek received between $5-$10 million as part of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Harvest Bible Chapel received at least $2.5 million from PPP.
The purpose of the paycheck protection program is to preserve jobs. And the SBA will forgive loans if certain criteria are met, like employees remaining on the payroll for eight weeks.’ https://julieroys.com/willow-creek-harvest-bible-chapel-receive-millions-in-covid-relief-funds/
