The China virus is the least of these three young Chinese people’s worries.

‘(Beijing—May 12, 2020) Three young people vanished in mid-April. Two are now understood to be in custody.

The three are named Cai Wei, Chen Mei, and Xiao Tang. Cai and Chen were both involved with a website called “Ruidian Star.” It is known to fight internet blocking and censorship and backs up deleted articles from Chinese social media platforms.

Xiao and Cai rent an apartment together.

This may  be coming to where you live sooner than you think!

In China, ‘A retired professor was arrested for speaking about COVID-19.

ChinaAid reports that the man, Chen Zhaozhi, accused the Chinese Communist Party for spreading the virus. As a result, he was charged with provocation, and officials said he spread false information on the internet.

A lawyer who met with Chen at the Haidian Detention Center said his client’s family applied to bail him out. The authorities refused their request. In the meantime, the legal process against Chen has begun. The case is expected to be transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in June.

Chen suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and low blood pressure and relies on medication to maintain his health. According to the attorney, he is not in a good mental state.

One supporter said, “According to [official] routine, if one has dementia, the authorities are to reduce or remit the punishment … he might be sent to a mental hospital. [I think this because] I had a similar, previous experience.”

Chen had a prior encounter with officials when he protested the funeral of former Chinese Communist Party leader Li Peng. Raising his fist in the air, he shouted slogans, such as, “Down with Li Peng!” Police then arrested and beat him.

Earlier this month, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the city would be delivering 500,000 free meals to Muslims during the month of Ramadan.

“One of Ramadan’s most noble callings is to feed the hungry,” de Blasio said.

Still, when Rima Begum opened the iftar meal she received from the city, she recoiled in disgust. Oozing from a sealed silver bag was a mush of corn, chicken and potatoes.

“It reminded me of how when I was a kid you would learn about astronaut food,” Begum told Middle East Eye. “I wouldn’t eat this; I wouldn’t give this to my family,” she said.

De Blasio had said that 400,000 halal meals would be distributed at 32 Department of Education buildings and another 100,000 served through various community organisations during the holy month.

The meals being distributed directly from the city are available at 32 grab-and-go sites, and for those that cannot pick up the meals in-person, they are delivered through the NYC Food Delivery Assistance programme.

It was through this delivery programme that Begum received what she described as a “pile of goop”.

“We’d like transparency on how the city government procures food for both their Get Food NYC program and NYC Food Assistance,” Thahitun Mariam, a community organiser in Bronx, New York, told MEE.

When it came to meals distributed through community organisations, there was a different picture.

Linda Sarsour, a community activist and former executive director at the Arab American Association of New York, said that the meals distributed through AAANY came directly from the city and were of good quality.

It is the difference in food sourcing that has caused concerns among New York residents and community activists.

The food received by Begum and others from one of the city’s distribution centres, and not from a community organisation, originated from J&M Halal Foods, a company based in Illinois….

It is a lack of representation, even at the local level, that causes problems such as this, Moumita Ahmed said.

Ahmed, who is running for district leader for New York’s Assembly District 24, said that some of the meals were “disrespectful” and a waste of taxpayer money….

She pointed out that the money spent on these meals could have gone to local restaurants that have been providing meals for Muslims during Ramadan for years.

“Our communities deserve better. Our communities deserve more than just goop in a plate,” Ahmed told MEE.

“We are the richest country and the richest state on the planet. A federal criminal complaint almost lost in the nation’s Corona-19 virus crisis alleges that Masood planned from the day he arrived in America on his H-1B visa in February 2018 that he would use the rare access it afforded to learn something useful about his enemies so as to conduct violent jihad in line with his perceived religious duty. By January and February 2020, according to the complaint, the 28-year-old was messaging on an encrypted platform about how sick he had grown of smiling every day at the “passing kuffar”, a derogatory term for non-Muslims that often justifies execution. All the smiling was “just not to make them suspicios [sic] … I cannot tolerate it anymore.”

He messaged that he could not let his H-1B visa go to waste. “Sometimes I wantto [sic] attack enemy when I am behind enemy linea [sic] itself,” he messaged in January. “[I] wonder if I will miss the opportunity of attacking the enemy when I was in the middle of it.”

By the grace of an undercover FBI investigation, Masood will do no such thing. Agents arrested Masood on March 19. By then, he had changed the plan from attacking the local kuffars he hated so much to joining ISIS in northeast Iran and Afghanistan, or in Syria as a medic, or maybe engineering drones “and also fight”. It’s unclear why he changed his mind about attack on U.S. soil.

The Pakistan-licensed doctor was as deficient in operational security as he was in spelling English. What is it that motivates individuals and organizations to promote the killing of the unborn? Well, ‘Progressive Insurance has been a long-time corporate funder of the Planned Parenthood abortion business, appearing on lists of corporate sponsors for years. At a shareholders’ meeting today, the company’s CEO avoided questions from a pro-life organization worried that it is expanding its abortion support further.

As LifeNews.com has reported, Progressive Insurance has been on boycott lists of companies that support Planned Parenthood as early as 2016 and as late as earlier this year. But abortion activists are working to get the nation’s largest corporations more firmly in support of abortion and pro-abortion groups, and the organization As You Sow has been lobbying aggressively to get more companies to sign up for additional abortion advocacy.

The Free Enterprise Project, a conservative group, called out the Progressive Corporation today for its collaboration with As You Sow and questioned its abortion advocacy, but the response was less than forthcoming.

At today’s annual meeting of Progressive shareholders, Justin Danhof, General Counsel and FEP Director at the National Center for Public Policy Research, asked Progressive CEO Tricia Griffith:

For this annual meeting, As You Sow filed a shareholder resolution seeking the company’s support for anti-life abortion policies. As You Sow subsequently withdrew its proposal noting it had reached an agreement with the company. As the Wall Street Journal has reported most proposals are withdrawn after the company accedes to some of the shareholders demands.

Abortion is one of the most divisive issues in America. Why did you choose to engage in such an acrimonious culture battle, and what concessions did you make to As You Sow to get them to pull their resolution?
